[It's rare in Drift Fleet to see Dorian as The Necromancer. He plays with people, he flirts with them. Occasionally his humor is morbid. But that's just him.
But tonight is different.
The broadcast is from a darkened cargo bay of the SS Three Twins.
Dorian is wearing black robes with a pointed hood, and as the broadcast starts, he gestures with a skull-topped staff, seeming to almost do it for show. There's a whispering of something circling him, a spirit, perhaps, and candles illuminate around him as it vanishes.]
I do hope you're having a good night. I had nearly lost track of the date, what with the odd stars, but I'm quite certain that it is the beginning of the eighth month, Matrinalis. Which means, for those of you unaccustomed to Thedosian holidays, it is All Soul's Day. Or close enough. ...regardless...
[He conjures a small flicker of fire in his hand, the light casting shadows on his face, the glowing purple lines of necromantic sigils and runes seemingly etched into his hands and arms.]
It is the day we Thedosians remember our dead. As a necromancer, I daresay I am qualified to lead the celebrations, if you will.
You are welcome to come and extinguish a candle for those you've lost.

The ends don't justify the means, Dorian. Don't you dare start on that reasoning, I've heard it enough times. You could have found another way to protect her. I'm no mage, but I know enough to know there's a lots of protection spells that don't require torturing spirits.

...Jove spoke well of you, defended you and refused to give up your name, even after she saw the state of the spirit. Ino is fond of you too- and you weren't wrong about the donations needing protection at the blood drive.
[All reasons why he's not heading right over to the Three Twins right now to punch your face in. Reasons why, even if he's pissed off and there's a small desire to strangle this guy- he's trying to give him some of the benefit of the doubt. A little, anyway]
You can protect your friends, I'm sure you're skilled enough in magic to do that. Just...don't trap a spirit or a soul like that again.

However, you may consider the threshold for what I consider for such measures to be considered "necessary" to be raised a fair bit. I am not like some mages of my homeland, I don't bind spirits just to have something pretty to drift through my halls and be at my beck and call.
[Which is to say that he's shown extreme restrain this far, by Tevinter standards.]

[Mind you, it's not any sort of smile that shows happiness, or one you could even mistake for happiness. No, it's clearly a dangerous smile. In fact, he's so pissed off that for a moment this forced smile seems wider than human smiles naturally should be.]
Then if any of your countrymen mages like that show up, they'll get the much less pleasant version of this conversation.
