[and his voice then trails off as he backs a step away from the receiver.

the entire fleet is then treated to the distinct sound of sickened retching... followed by a few clatters... and something small, wet, and heavy hitting the floor.

anyone aboard the SS Pathstone and happening by the network station that Tek is using will have it a little worse, however. he has puked up a little bit of a mess--mostly consisting of oily black liquid, a couple of half-digested coins... and a shiny red gem.

[let's say there is a transfer of communicator numbers... because he will totally buckle and take her up on her offer only a little later, with the bare minimum of his pride preserved.

just a short text message buzzing in on her communicator with his name and the coordinates of which waystation his ship is parked at.]

[Fuck yessssss. She flashes back a brief message to confirm, and then drags the whole ship on over that way. Ah, it's good to be captain and also to have nothing better to do. Would Tek be happy to know he's brightened her day so much?

Probably not. And she feels kind of crappy herself, but this is motivational! So it's a fairly short while later that she's moseying on over to his ship and letting herself on there. She got a kit together on the off chance that he'd say yes, so there's not even much of a wait after her ship comes in. She'll buzz to be let on.]

[remembering the debacle that letting Robin onto the ship had turned out to be, Tek has preemptively dragged himself out of bed and made himself comfortable near the hatch.

he almost falls asleep there, but at least the buzzer will only blare once, instead of over and over until someone on this ship deigns to open it.

he hits the control to open the hatch and just waits. slumped where he's sitting, peeking up from where his folded arms had been a pillow just enough to eye her as she enters.]

[She looks presentable and normal enough, and like she's settled in as a crewman, when she steps on board. Dressed in white coveralls and a tank top with bare arms. What she figured she'd need is neatly collected in a case; she'll scare up Emblica and ask to borrow some stuff if necessary, but doubts she'll have to.

Anyway, he's easy to spot. She comes nearer, but stops a respectable distance away and drops to a crouch.]

[just watching her with one lazy, unblinking eye until she's settled. then he rouses enough to sit up, dragging himself into a slightly more presentable state. he's in his usual set of fine clothes from home, but they're definitely on the rumpled and unloved side now. it's terrible. at least he's managing to keep up his mask, but... it's a tenuous hold.]

Do we need to go somewhere else? The other rooms are somewhat occupied.
