Good evening. I seek any in this fleet capable of smithing. It has been too long since I have held a sword, and I like not the feel of the so-called 'weapons' the Atroma have provided us. If any are capable of crafting a blade for me, or the tools and materials with which I may forge my own, I would be grateful. I lack the means to pay with coin, but I may offer payment in the form of labor or trade.

... A flaming sword sounds foolish beyond reason. [Don't ask me how long I had Ifrit's sword equipped, shut up.] I seek a blade of steel. Though I do not doubt they will be lacking in comparison to Excalibur or Hauteclaire, even a normal blade will suffice for now.

That's the problem, isn't it? There are a few spare parts for the ships, but there's no forge. Of course, that's also assuming the ship won't eventually need those parts.

Had I not been divested of my tools and materials, I would need no forge. Yet with nothing else for it, I must resort to asking others.

The last planet we were on had abundant sources of obsidian, so I made a few knives. [more like fifty of them]

It's a bit too brittle for typical swords, but it's better than nothing.

... Obsidian, then. Though I have hardly used them since I ceased to be a gladiator, a macuahuitl will suit my purposes well enough. If you could craft one such weapon for me, I would ask your price.

Are you talking about one of these? While I have enough obsidian left, I don't have any pieces of wood long enough for something like that.
