... Two questions.

One, who would be the best person to go to about setting up a larger infirmary on the Iskaulit? After what happened, I think it might be better to have some larger area set up. Especially if something ends up happening and we need to quarantine some kind of ailment.

... And two. [and then he pauses, because he doesn't know how to ask the second one. it's not like it's the first time someone's left, but..]

Does anyone know what happens to the people who leave? A theory, a guess... Anything? Going home is supposed to be the prize for winning at the end of the show, isn't it?

I did propose putting together a larger infirmary on the Iskaulit last month; unfortunately, staff, supplies and money seem to be the big roadblocks. I wouldn't want to charge people since not everyone could afford to pay for treatment, but it's hard to figure out a steady source of income, too.

I'd help staffing when I could. We can always do something to up our ratings to get better income.

The Atroma take them away. You wake up, and they're gone. It happens the same day people are assigned to their new ships, so... all bets are that they're teleported somewhere else the same as when they're teleported to their assignments.

It's like Dr. Keller said. It's not like we don't want one, but we lack proper stable funding to upkeep an additional clinic and we haven't come up with a way around that yet.

Sounds like you've already got a couple people on the blacksmithing request. Still, if you need maintenance or anything else, I've been working a forge for about fifteen years. I'm also pretty good with machines-- engineering augment and all-- but I invent things, too. I, uh, I don't know if you've met them but I built Bran's chair, and I made Eugene's leg.

I've set up a decent substitute for a forge in our engine room.

her heart isn't prepared for the cold shock of recognition when she turns a corner and comes across a man engaged in busy-work. manual labour -- moving things around. except she knows that shape and she knows the line of that nose. she knows that presence, even as she senses something wrong about the scene. ]

...My God, [ she swears under her breath. fingers curled on the hard metal 'doorway', and her eyes fixated on steve. steve? peggy freezes in place. ]

[it's the voice that catches him, has him straightening. he knows her accent, the cadence, the pitch--he's heard it all in dreams. his arm is exposed. he can't hide from her here.

[orion turns around, slowly, keeping a steeled expression. he can't cave to her right now, not here, not while he's still so unsure.

[he faces her openly, and holds his ground. he doesn't look defensive, but the tension could be cut with a knife.]

Dr. Crusher here, SS Blue Fish. I see Allen and Dr. Keller have already spoken to you about the limitations we have run into when we discussed the opening of a central clinic before, so I see no need to repeat what they have already told you. We are interested, we just haven't found a feasible working plan yet.

However, as to your other question... for a couple of months there was someone here from my universe, who came from a point in my future. He remembered meeting me in that future, so presumably I go home at some point. Or at least, there's some version of me in existence there.
