[Today there's a blue fish lady onscreen. She ROARS and slams a conjured lance through the nearest table, splitting it in half. Poor hospitality deck, it never asked for this. She grabs the spear and looks at the console with a discerning yellow eye. The other eye is covered by an eyepatch and a bit of red hair.]

No one captures me. Not unless they have a DEATH WISH!

[She brandishes her spear with a twirl and shoves it solidly into the floor. Her grin shows jagged sharky teeth, and it nearly splits her face in half. Is she making you uneasy? Good.]

It's been a while since I had a real fight. Come out of hiding, cowards! I'll show you why I was made captain of the Royal Guard!

[A captain in... a muscle tank and skinny jeans, sure. Whatever.]

Who gave them the RIGHT? I'm not entertainment! If I thought that would be a good career I would've gone into show business instead of beating thugs into a pulp.

[She growls to herself.]

I can't think of anyone who would want to kidnap both monsters and humans.

I'm, uh, kind of unprepared for this.

[ She quirks a smile, though there's nothing really funny — Undyne just expressed the sentiment Nyssa's had all long. ]

What kind of monster are you?

[ She usually deploys the word in a metaphorical sense, but all Undyne looks is alien. ]

What kind?

[Undyne actually has to take a moment to inspect herself, because she thought it was obvious. Ear fins? Scales? Susceptible to Hotland?]

... Fish?

[She shrugs.]

What kind of human are you?

Apparently one that needs to be qualified.

[ She smiles, briefly. ]

I am a hunter. Not of monsters.

Monsters don't really segregate themselves. We're not human and we're all stuck, or... were. But some of us do kind of look like animals, I'll give you that.

[She kinda likes this human.]

A hunter, huh? I'm a guard. Sometimes that involves hunting things.

[Though actually hunting something like... with stealth though, and subtlety... seems a bit beyond fish lady here.]

Where I'm from the monstrous things often look human.

[ But that's a philosophical debate we'll leave for another day. ]

I heard. Captain of the Royal Guard? To which king?

Interesting. Maybe I won't be laying down my spear permanently while I'm there.

[She knows not all humans are bad, it's still something she's gripping with, but.]

The king of all monsters, the only one worth mentioning. It was my job to hunt down and kill--

[... humans.................. wait.... UH......]

[ Seeing as she still has her bow, and FINALLY has arrows. ]

I am Nyssa, daughter of Ra's al Ghul. It is my job to hunt and kill my father's enemies.

Good thing I have as many as I need! [She laughs. It doesn't sound nice.]

I'm Undyne. It sounds like we have similar jobs, Nyssa. Do you train other people or are you by yourself?

[She's trying not to nerd out too much. PLAY IT COOL, PLAY IT COOL...]

I am usually by myself, but I am engaged in training someone, at home.

Nice to meet you, too. And really? I LOVE weapons! I lost my whole collection when my house burned down. I need to start over as soon as possible.

One of my friends is a teacher. I told her she should let me teach the kids how to use weapons and she said it wasn't a good idea. How is that not a good idea? Weapons are GREAT for kids!

They are suited to an icy habitat, but the steel is true.

[ A beat. ]

The bow, a knife, and wooden swords would suit a child, little else.

Yeah, see? You can graduate them to big swords when they can carry them. Otherwise it'll just slow them down.

I'm definitely going to look into weapons... as soon as I can get off this ship.

There is no way off the Marsiva unless you are transported to a smaller ship — you will need to wait a while.

So I heard. I can be patient.

[She is quiet after that, and trying to be patient and not fidget at all.]

[... Ten seconds pass. Then fifteen. Then twenty...]

NGAHHH!!! [She sends a spear flying into the wall. It makes a lovely crashing noise.]

Okay, I'm done waiting. Maybe I'll look at the kitchen.

[ Nyssa quirks an eyebrow, but says nothing re: the outburst. ]

It's down the corridor, somewhere. Will you be able to find anything good to eat?

Don't worry, I can cook!

[She thinks about the last time she tried to cook.]

... How flammable are spaceships?

[ Wryly, ]

They will survive, do not worry.
