[ Obi-Wan is no stranger to waking up to unknown locations, but this seemed odd . . . even for him. He gropes for his lightsaber . . . which is gone, obviously. He huffs, before straightening himself and brushing his hair back. Communications . . . communications . . . ah, there it is.

A video feed. Somewhat archaic, but it'll do. He doubts anyone from the Republic will be nearby, but perhaps the locals will offer some aid. Obi-Wan clears his throat before speaking. It's time for his other skill set to come in use. ]

Greetings. My name is General Kenobi. To whom do I have the pleasure of addressing? And I don't suppose there is someone willing to answer my questions? Because I have a great deal many of them.

[ He's certainly no Republic pilot. And he's starting to think captain was a little too much. ]

I wouldn't want to offend your delicate sensibilities, so I'll spare you the details.

I do my civic duty, though. Don't need to worry about that.

I think, perhaps, you've confused me with someone else if you think I have delicate sensibilities.

I'm not concerned whether you perform your duties or not, especially in the distant future.

[ there's a slight grin. obi-wan, even young, can be trusted. that much is certain. and besides, it's not like the rest of the people on this fleet will know or care what he used to be.

anakin skywalker might care, but. whatever. he can go brood somewhere else. ]

I decided to pick up work elsewhere in Mos Eisley, which is where I met you. You can ask my buddy Luke for the rest of the story; it's not mine to tell.

[ because it involves delicate ... skywalker drama, and han has already had it up to here with that crap. ]

Mos Eisley? That's on Tatooine. There was another Jedi on Tatooine?

[ Unexpected, but still surprising. Anakin's home world . . . something niggles at him, a bigger story he is missing. Ahsoka was strangely closed lipped about these time travelers. It's not like her. ]

Well, having trouble with Jabba is . . . rather common, actually. I think we've all done it at least once.

[ han simply shrugs at the first part; like he said, he would have to ask luke. han is fairly certain he wouldn't want han to spill the story, even if it is to obi-wan. it's not his to tell.

but on the second part, han's grin widens. ]

He's dead, now, if that makes you feel better.

[ leia is literally the queen of his entire life, tbh. ]

The underbelly of society can go back to the criminals with hearts of gold instead of that worm.

I wasn't aware there were any of those around.

[ Still, Jabba dead?. Definitely a surprising turn of events. ]

I had no problems with Jabba. Anakin must have been thrilled to hear that, though.

You haven't hung out with the right criminals.

[ he plays with a loose thread on his sleeve ]

Haven't discussed Jabba with him. Or anything, really. -- what's the last thing you remember before you wound up on this rock?

[ han promised luke that he would at least make an effort to not actively 1) kill anakin or 2) make anakin kill him, and it's probably best to just skip on over the poor doomed bastard ]

Oh, I don't know about that. The criminal underworld and myself have been intimate before.

[ Though it was not his favourite mission, he did learn a lot from Hardeen. ]

I was on a mission with Anakin. I'm afraid I'm not allowed to discuss the details.

[ so before anakin ditches, which han could've obtain from digging through the rest of the communications, but this is easier. and, really, that's all he needs to know. ]

[ han waggles his fingers ]

Why the curiosity over Anakin?

I don't hang out with very many Jedi; color me curious.

[ which is true but mostly because luke is... the only one to hang out with in the entire galaxy welp ]

I don't think that's entirely true. You know me, you're acquainted with Luke, you know Anakin to some degree and Ahsoka calls you Captain Solo.

That is more Jedi than most people see in their lifetime.

[ Granted, that's due to this place but he highly doubts Captain Solo doesn't have much experience with Jedi at this point. ]

Ahsoka's a sweet kid. Not my fault she has manners.

[ he is actively attempting to undo that, thank you. ]

But I don't hang out with your circle, back home. I met Anakin here [ which is like 50% true ] and we weren't exactly buddy-buddy. I know Luke, I know he's what you people would call a Jedi, and that's about it.

[ at the very least, han seems to be telling the truth. ]

So, like I said -- color me curious.

Is there a reason Luke is . . . different from other Jedi?

[ Luke was recruited on Tatooine . . . again, Anakin's planet. Though, at what age? Did Obi-Wan come again to bring a Jedi home? ]

I'm not spoiling the future, old man.

[ lightly ]

But I'll tell you Luke's not a giant stick in the mud.

[ that counts as different from other jedi right ]

I've met very few Jedi that are.

Sounds like you've met up with a more fun crowd than I have.

[ pause. dancing around the issue delicately will only work for so long, but han promised luke not to spill anything about anakin. but han also doesn't want to outright lie to obi-wan, who he actually has respect for ~~unlike some douchey skywalker kid~~.

What'd Ahsoka tell you so far, about us? That'd make it easier.

Just that you were time travelers. You are doing a decent job of keeping things under wraps.

[ He might as well let them know up front he's looking for answers. ]

[ yeah, well. luke's persuasive. ]

[ han can't blame obi-wan. he'd be doing the same thing if someone from his future showed up. ]

Atroma's been bringing people in from our chunk of the galaxy from all different points in time. Not our fault we were brought in ahead of you -- if it were up to us, we'd still be home.

[ on endor, celebrating the destruction of the empire. han had been looking forward to that party, damn it. ]

No. And I would not put blame on anyone without knowing more. I must admit, knowing the future sounds tempting. We Jedi only get a vague picture from time to time.

I'm sure it'll slip eventually.

[ there's absolutely no way they can keep anakin's future a secret forever. if it were up to han, he would've just spilled it already. but it's really up to luke, and if luke wants it secret, then it'll be a secret. for now, anyway. ]

Maybe you'll get lucky and someone'll turn up that won't care.

Hopefully, that kind of intervention will be minimal.

[ He's . . . surprised by their dedication to keep things under wraps. It must be something huge. His death? Unlikely. His death would hardly be a huge impact and worth hiding. ]

[ yeah but who kills you obi-wan exactly NO ONE NEEDS TO KNOW ]

I'll count your prayers and mine on that one.

Luke and Leia might be more forgiving than I am on the whole 'telling the future' thing but I wouldn't count on it.
