[ Obi-Wan is no stranger to waking up to unknown locations, but this seemed odd . . . even for him. He gropes for his lightsaber . . . which is gone, obviously. He huffs, before straightening himself and brushing his hair back. Communications . . . communications . . . ah, there it is.

A video feed. Somewhat archaic, but it'll do. He doubts anyone from the Republic will be nearby, but perhaps the locals will offer some aid. Obi-Wan clears his throat before speaking. It's time for his other skill set to come in use. ]

Greetings. My name is General Kenobi. To whom do I have the pleasure of addressing? And I don't suppose there is someone willing to answer my questions? Because I have a great deal many of them.

Now that's just cheating. If Atroma nabs another one of us, all of you keep quiet, okay?

It looks like you've been told about Atroma. [she's catching up with your other chats] So... the armor. Is that a pretty regular piece of Jedi equipment these days?

[yeah she's seen a glimpse of the future and she does not like it.]

[ His armor? Ah, he still has his arm guards on, a parting middle ground he was willing to give Cody who complained about his lack of armor lately. ]

I can't say that it is. Most Jedi don't bother.

Because they don't need to, or because they don't like it?

[ He shrugs loosely. ]

Perhaps a little of both. Some Jedi don't see as much combat as I do lately.

Does that mean the war is coming to an end, then? I know I'm long gone by the time it all happens, but I don't like the thought of the Jedi doing that again.

[ He rubs his beard, deep in thought for a few minutes. No, the war is far from over, though he senses the end is near. And, again, Yoda's words come back to haunt him. Even here, he has no respite. ]

Not even the Jedi do, believe me. As for the war . . . I cannot say for certain if it is close to an end, though my instincts say it is.

Jedi instincts are usually pretty good, so that's reassuring. [until it comes to "is this guy evil" or "is my APPRENTICE evil" or "literally everyone is telling you not to do it Ulic/Anakin/Etc maybe you should not do it" but. nitpicking.] I prefer the robes to the armor. It's a much better look.

[ Let's develop an evil gps system. ]

So do I, but Cody does insist and I should make some allowances for my Commander.

[ Cody tends to fret, which Obi-Wan always found amusing. ]

[that would help a lot in preventing like 90% of EU events]

[ And a huge chunk of the prequels. ]

He cares, though he's not known for showing it.

I suppose that could be tricky for a military man.

My stance on armor? I could certainly do without it. Unless you mean the war itself.

[ And the more the war progresses, he finds himself to be less inclined towards it. ]

I meant about showing that you care, but I'm not surprised you could do without the armor and war too.

[ He frowns lightly. Does he not show it . . . ? ]

I suppose I do not make a lot of overt emotional gestures, but you know as well as I, that compassion is a cornerstone in a Jedi's life.

[It's okay, she's just being obnoxious.]

Good to know. You're probably the calm one trying to keep everyone in check, I bet.

[ He chuckles lightly. ]

It is if you've met Ahsoka and Anakin already.

Considering they are my padawans, I have more than the distinct honour of meeting them.

Well, I'd say that shows it's good for Jedi to pick apprentices who contrast them.

Well, Ahsoka is really Anakin's, but we take on plenty of missions together.

[ Picking them though, is not something he did. ] I can't say I chose them personally.

So she's more like your grand-padawan. I like it.

No? So how'd it happen? [she's expecting something like how she chose her Master, in spite of his protests.]

It . . . was my Master's dying wish. That I train Anakin, help him realize his place as a Jedi.

[ He hadn't agreed with it before. They argued about it. One of his last few conversations with Qui-Gon, mired by doubt. ]

[ He laughs. It's not entirely pleasant. ]

But... if Ahsoka is the kind of Jedi that Anakin trained. That would take a good foundation.
