Of course, when she's not, well, piloting, Hera is poking around the ship, trying to figure out how things work, and trying to stomach the terrible food. ]
The next planetfall better have decent fresh food.
no subject
Yeah, she's being rude as hell and totally staring]
Like what? [she doesn't elaborate or add on a more specific question on the end, just... goes with that]
no subject
You know, food. Fresh fruit and veggies, especially. I know it can be hard to come by in space, but this is ridiculous.
no subject
What about that garden project they've got going on in the bug ship? They might have some vegetables there.
no subject
"Bug ship"?
no subject
It looks all crusty like a bug. [she shrugs] 'Bug ship'.
no subject
Thanks. My name is Hera, by the way. I'm a pilot.

So how does she handle?

[ But of course, nothing could be the Ghost, and Hera sits back to look up at him with a faint smile. ]
But I've flown worse. How're things on your end? What augment did you get, anyway?
no subject
Security. One of three others. Along with two captains on one ship.
[He is so not impressed.]
no subject
[ Ridiculous. This whole place is ridiculous. ]
Then again, it's about as logical as none of these ships having hyperdrives.
no subject
[Not that he particularly liked the guy - but a takeover on a ship was no small issue. And he didn't much appreciate the notion he was expected to pick a side.]

[ Like when
Mom and Dad fight and the kids get upsetKanan and Hera have differences of opinion and then everyone else doesn't know how to deal with it. ]Good luck staying out of that.

But it's been a month now. Her feelings have simmered down, and she's established that this is real. She's not leaving any time soon, and she needs to at least make a life here. Which means its time to wrap herself in a different image.
So people might notice a blonde teenager hanging out around the ship every once in a while. And today she's set up on a treadmill, hair up in a ponytail while wearing a slouchy t-shirt and yoga pants. When she notices your character entering the rec room, she grins and slows the pace of the machine down to the slowest pace. As it slows down, she holds up her hand to wiggle her fingers in a sort of wave]
Hey there. Come here often?
no subject
Endure! He can endure!] This is actually my first time in here. Are you a part of the crew?
no subject
Yep. I'm Sarah, communications. [She hops off the treadmill entirely, but she doesn't turn it off completely. Instead she uses her right hand to casually salute him, and wink as she lowers that hand to rest it on her hip]
But I'll be honest, I still don't get how all this works. [that's mostly a lie] You're better off asking Uzuki about actual work-related questions.

Probably depends on where you come from, but yeah. There's a lot to get used to. [Although with the network at the ready, she's found it pretty easy to find the information that she needs. But she likes to play dumber when she can]
So where do you fall on that scale? Is this all pretty weird to you?
no subject
[Unlikely since excitement always wins out over fear with this guy, but it HAS been a shock trying to adjust.]

Engine Room - Kitchen - Shuttle Bay
[Sorey might've been given the knowledge and job title of an Engineer, but the most complicated thing he's ever attempted to fix was this one rope-and-pulley weight system in these old rusted ruins. Electricity was beyond his expertise before coming here, so redirecting the fusion runoff through the environmental scrubbers so that the cabins don't get flooded with radiation whenever someone turns on their heating? That's a little new.
Doesn't mean he won't dive headfirst into it on the first day though.]
Whoa! That's neat! [Sorey's voice echoes from where his upper half is shoved into a maintenance panel. There's an ominous-sounding clank from inside that makes an angry-sounding alarm blare in protest before it silences with a click and,] So that's what that does... [With Sorey poking around and learning the innerworkings of his ship as best as possible there's bound to be some bugs. Hopefully he doesn't inconvenience anybody too much...]
KITCHEN
[Sorey might be crap at desserts but he's not half bad at actual entrees, so when it comes time to eat he spends his time assembling some sort of weird taco rice dish with the questionable-looking 'meat.' Man, they hadn't been kidding when they'd said the food on the Marvisa was better. Still, warm food is better than the dried jerky and fruit they'd had to eat sometimes when out in the wilderness, so Sorey can deal.
He's gotten used to cooking for more than just one due to his recent travels though, and ends up making too much. And wasting food is just all kinds of awful, so the first person who steps through that door gets an expressed invitation to join him for dinner.]
SHUTTLE BAY
[This kid does not know how to pilot a shuttle. Okay so he's got the basic info in his head, but it's like explaining to a medieval knight how a jet fighter works. He's fiddling with controls that he probably shouldn't be fiddling with and the shuttle engines prime and then power back down three times before he climbs out and starts circling this freaky horseless cart space dinghy thing to try and figure out what he's doing wrong. He's got to get over to the Huntress to check on his friend, it's already been too long.]
shuttle bay, natch.
If there's somewhere you need to get, you can just ask, you know.
[ Please do not try to fly a shuttle all on your own, friend. ]
no subject
Really? You'll take me somewhere? I don't want to put you out of your way or anything...
no subject
Well, that's why you ask, isn't it? To find out. Instead of trying to fly a shuttle when you clearly don't know how, which could very well kill you.
[ Please don't get killed, Sorey. You just got here. ]
no subject
[rubs head sheepishly] But if you're offering, I'd really appreciate it! I need to get over to the Huntress.
no subject
[ She sighs faintly. ] I suppose I could make the trip. I know a couple people over there. [ Vaguely. ]
