Good evening. I believe there are quite a few people here that I am not acquainted with. My name is Nunnally Lamperouge, and it is a pleasure to meet all of you. [She smiles slightly. It seems like a natural smile-- aside from the formality of her speech, it's hard to tell that she's feeling quite tense at the moment]

But to those that I am acquainted with, h-hello again. [she sounds a bit awkward saying it, which she doesn't enjoy but she's not sure how else to put it, you know?] I'm not... quite sure what became of me for the last few months. It didn't seem as if any time has passed, but the next thing I knew I was awake again on the Marsiva, and time had passed without my knowledge. It seems I've been reassigned to a new ship and-- [she trails off for a moment] hopefully my skills aren't too rusty.

I suppose... that's all I wished to say. Thank you for your time, everyone.

[and, anyone on the Blue Fish will find a random young girl wheeling around the ship in a fancy motor-powered wheelchair. Even though she seems quite perplexed, she will make an effort to smile politely and wave at anyone that she encounters]

[He grins and shrugs.] I guess I've just got a natural flair for it.

And you said you saved the world? That sounds like an interesting story. [she folds her hands in her lap as she asks that, trying to convey that she's genuinely interested in his story]

Well, almost saved the world. In the process of.

[It's the best story ever.]

I...er, I'm still waiting to see if I actually get out of it alive. I was in a really cruddy situation before I got here.

[He's been doing his best not to think about it.]

[ah... her eyebrows knit in sympathy. She knows the feeling of uncertainty.]

Are you on your own in your fight?

Nope, we got a whole attack force.

...Right now though, it's just me and my best friend. ...And my girlfriend. [Who might be dead. Don'tthinkaboutitdon'tthinkaboutit.]

[for a moment her hands clench slightly and then relax again, as if they have the idea before she does. She then lifts her hands towards him, palms facing up]

I... know this is a strange thing to request, but may I hold your hand for a moment?

[Why do people keep want to touch him? It's WEIRD. He hesitates for a moment.]

...Why?

[ah, her fingers curl slightly, and if it weren't so serious a moment she would smile slightly. But instead she pauses for a moment, searching for the words.]

You don't have to, if you'd rather not. But I promise, it won't be anything bad.

[Ugh. Holding hands, this is so undignified for a warrior. Still, he sighs and thrusts his hand out.]

Okay, okay. But don't do anything...weird.

[alkdgha his petulance is amusing to her. but still!!! this is serous!!! Her eyes close slightly for a moment as she takes his hand, and then she looks at him]

Do you believe in your friends?

[Ugh hand holding. Ugh ugh ugh.]

Of course I do. [Said in a tone that suggests that's the dumbest question anyone has ever asked him. Period.]

[she nods, lets go of his hands, and folds her own in her lap] I can tell. A long time ago, I practiced telling a person's true feelings by holding their hands.

Your trust, dedication, caring... It shines through clear as day. And any friends who have earned such trust will not be defeated. [she's starting to worry this was too cheesy, but it was the best thing she could think of]

For what it's worth, I'm now confident that you will return to a happy ending.

[Well that was unexpected. Sokka stares at his hands for a moment, brow furrowed in confusion.]

So you've got...magic hand powers?

[Weird. But he'll take it, he guesses.] Well, I sure hope so. Don't suppose your magic future telling hands can tell me if someone's alive or not?

[she shakes her head] It's not magic, just something I've practiced for years.

And I'm afraid not. All I have to go in is your feelings, and what I know of people. And what I know is that you do not seem like someone who gives trust lightly, yet you have full confidence in your friends. I think you can trust them, and your future self. [well... the "him" once he's returned]

Oh.

Worth a shot, right?

[He is so worried about her, and he hasn't let himself think about just HOW MUCH until now. He knew it'd catch up with him eventually, that he couldn't just focus on everything else and ignore this horrible, gaping hole of panic in him forever. ]

She- She's really tough. I'm sure she got out okay. [He sounds like he's trying to convince himself.]

[she.. She listens, sympathetic. She knows that fear-- what waits for you? Life? Death? Or even if you live, if others die that you care for... would it be a life worth living? She pauses... thoughtful]

I, ah... Know that we only just met, but I can tell that you are someone who is strong, dependable, and you seem courageous. You're returning to a situation that is uncertain, but you and your friends have agency in it.

I know that doesn't erase the fear, but you will only return to that moment stronger and braver than you were when you left. The time here is frightening, but while you're here, you can only increase your odds of success, right?

That's what I'm worried about. If my time here actually makes it worse back home. What if everything is going on still, right there, and I'm not there to help? I know peopel say times stops, but we've got nothing to prove that.

[He gives her a weak smile, all the same.]

But hey, thanks anyway.

[she shakes her head]

It might not be exact proof, but I have something like it. When I first arrived, there was a woman that I knew from my world. She was taken from a later time in our timeline, yet she never knew that I had been taken. If we were missing from our homes, wouldn't she have noticed that I was gone for a month?

Oh...

[He considers that, nodding.]

Well, that works, I guess. Maybe it really is true.

I'll do more searching on the network. [she nods firmly] My augment gives me a good understanding of our records, hopefully I'll be able to find others with cases like mine. I can ask them about their experiences and...

[she trails off for a moment, then smiles] We'll find definitive proof. [and he won't have to deal with crushing guilt all the while he's here]

Thanks, I really appreciate that. Answers are definitely what we need to make sense of this place.

[And so he can work out a daring escape plan. Mostly that.]

It's true. So much of what we know was given directly to us... it's unnerving to think that there are so many things surrounding us that we don't truly understand.

And we don't know for sure what we've been given is actually the truth. They could be lying to us, to keep us in line. Keep us complacent, y'know?
