A few things.

There are a good number of fighters here or people otherwise trained in combat. I'm interested in observing people's abilities or training, or at least discussing what they can do. Spars could also be arranged if you want some exercise.

Secondly, I'll take recommendations for good literature available around here.

Finally, if you know how to knit or crochet then I'll offer you up to ten credits to watch you create something.

[God, he hopes this ends well. He hopes Sasuke isn't half so obnoxious as he was the first time they spoke.]

[ Sasuke is always at least somewhat obnoxious, it's just a matter of how much. He doesn't respond, however, not until he's off his own ship, traveling to, and boarding the Paisley itself. ]

[He calls that out from the observational deck, where he's holed up with all the books in question. He's made himself a little nook, in fact, curled up in front of one of the windows-- though now he stands, offering a tentative smile.

And then a slightly surprised look. Gosh, but he's shorter than he expected.]

[ The look of surprise is noticed but he doesn't address it, currently used to receiving it here due to his very much missing left arm but if he'd known it was because Remus finds him short he might be somewhat offended. What else is new.

There's no return smile offered but nevertheless he gives him a nod of acknowledgement, already stepping closer to get a look at the spines of those volumes. ]

These are all of them, then?

So far. I think my time here is going to be spent building a library.

[He glances at them as well, nose wrinkling. It's a pitiful collection, it really is, and he wishes he could have found more.]

Anything catch your eye?

[ Immediately his eyes go to the book on warfare, hand reaching out to touch the cover almost hesitantly before he firms up his grip, picking it up to inspect it. ]

Yeah. If I have the opportunity I'll read all of them, however. Have you?

Not yet. I'm rather more interested in getting to know the others here-- but I've made it through some of the fictional ones. Do tell me how that one is if you pick it-- I'm not much for warfare, but I ought to learn more.

I'd assume we're in similar positions from what you've told me before.

It's not necessarily a desired knowledge, but one that we both require anyway.

Do you have much knowledge of war, then? Beyond what you've learnt here? I don't mean-- experience, yes, but the tactics, things like that.

I'm a shinobi, a ninja.

We're trained in combat from a young age. I started studying fighting and strategy when I was eight at the Academy and as soon as I could understand the words when I was at home with my family.

I have both impersonal and personal experience with it.

[He murmurs that softly. The word ninja is a bit odd, but then, so is wizard; he's not about to judge.]

Would you teach me? You're clearly more experienced in such matters than I am.

You actually want to be taught by me? I'm not even certain how well some of it would translate.

[ It sounds like Lupin requires some kind of strategist, however, and Sasuke has led more than one team into combat before. But wizards-- ]

Well, for starters, you can make up your debt to me-- you are borrowing my books.

[ ... he weighs it up in his mind. Handing over books briefly in return for actual lessons on warfare? The scales don't come out even, but perhaps that can be rectified in the future. ]

What is it specifically that you want?

Anything you have to offer, frankly. Are you especially talented in any area?

I'm good at magical combat, but my physical prowess is next to null. Honestly, all of those things are useful-- what would you be willing to teach?

[He tugs out his wand and sets it on one of the books-- Merlin forbid he breaks it, after all. Then, a little uncertainly, he widens his stance to a sturdier one, his arms coming up in terribly tentative fists.]
