Let the games begin!
[several days late, as has been the trend lately, the Shuffle's transmission plays for the Fleet.
...or, it tries anyway. the music doesn't even make it--just a punch of static with sad, scattered pieces of musical notes trying to struggle their way through.
when Diamond's voice is finally heard, it's only intelligible in three little bites.]
--Three disappearing from-- ... --new faces, so-- ... --Captain Halliwell--...
[and then the music blends strangely with other sounds, like someone flipping idly through broken radio stations. it takes some time for anything to come in clear, and every frequency turns up the same interference. it isn't until several minutes later that one signal suddenly stutters into clarity, and music begins to play.
wherever you are, they are playing your song! and if there are multiple people in the room, maybe the speakers nearest to each person are playing different songs, each specific to the closest passenger. and after the signal connects, the speakers will continue to play whatever song they started with, even if different passengers move toward or away from them, and will only play something else when the controls are messed around with. and the signals and machinery will continue to behave in this way sporadically, all through the month.]
ooc: the musical madness has begun! feel free to use this post as a mingle for interactions relating to shuffle day and the ensuing musical chaos. if you have any questions, please post them to the January ooc post!

Voice/Action for the Wonderduck
[What the hell? He was sitting in the cockpit of the Wonderduck, listening to the shuffle when it started to fritz and starts to play music that he very much recognizes]
Uh...Is it just me or is anyone else getting old church hymns from the communicator? Because that's not creepy or foreboding at all.
voice; because hooray for being on the other side of the ship
Yeah, I'm getting it too. It sounds like the stuff Colette would sing. [ actually, his just sounds like Colette point blank. ]
voice;
Wouldn't be surprised if it is. I think it's in Angelic and everything... [His sounds more like choirs, the ones you'd hear in meltokio's cathedral. It was unnerving, to say the least]
voice;
Yeah, it definitely sounds like it. [ not like he would know, he wasn't exactly the most religious. there's a pause on his end, and when he speaks, he's a little quieter. ] You don't think...?
[ that's definitely some uncharacteristic hesitation coming from him. ]
voice;
...That something mega-ly weird is going on?
voice;
[ gosh Kaneis. but Lloyd sobers up enough for him to get his thoughts out. ] I was wondering... maybe we're getting close to Derris-Kharlan.
[ since it was supposed to be adrift in space now and all. ]
voice;
[There's a long, sharp, pause as he listen]
...The voices sound too human to be angels. [you know, like they have EMOTIONS and all] And I don't know why they'd be singing like that anyway.
Whatever it is, it's probably not them. [He mutters:] Hopefully, anyway.
voice;
he shrugs on his end. ]
It's not like Colette is there, anyway.

[robin holds up his private communicator to the microphone so that Zelos can hear his own--it sounds like ye olde church hymn, but is definitely in a language no one here would recognize. lots of sharp Ts and heavy consonants. sung by chorus of both men and women, naturally heavy on the creepy.]
Voice
Yeah...and especially when that's a different dead language than the one my communicator was giving me.

Voice
[And he'd be amazed if anyone not him and Lloyd had heard Angelic in this fleet. But he can hear you about not feeling so singled out]
Maybe it's designed to sound like whatever we're familiar with. Catch our interest.
Voice
[a deep breath, a sigh...] Yeah, my money's on creepy cultists this time.

What is it then?
Voice
[you know, in fairy land. the place we don't talk about.]
It's kinda freaking me out.
Voice
[Like the one where they talk about killing people party. But yes, let's not talk about it]
Yeah...maybe it's supposed to freak us out.

Action
Where is that coming from?
Action
As for the source, couldn't tell you beyond "probably not something good".
sorry, she's a mess
[She doesn't raise her voice, but there's something desperately urgent in it. There can't be something "not good" about this, please, she can't be in any sort of danger if she's out there at all.
Flora places a hand against her face before the fingers curl inward, her voice anguished.]
Why do they have this?
[Was this a message? A warning? A taunt? How was this here at all? She doesn't know--she doesn't know]
poor Flora
I...don't know.
[There's a pause as he tries to think of what to say. The church hymns were unsettling, but...she wasn't even of the church of Martel. It wouldn't man anything to her. Why would she be worked up about it?]
Are you alright...?
