[ It's another day, another planet for the Drift Fleet to explore. Whether it be relaxing in the landing field, checking out the spa (and subsequently getting urged to enter the woods), or taking on the Enchanted Forest's game, there's enough to do for stir-crazy Fleet members.

Just remember one thing: make it look good. ]

[ truth be told, he never really noticed it. but now that he's really getting a good look around... ulp.

well. then again, it's not like Lloyd can help it. if his dad's wings are blue, then that clearly means it's genetic js. ]

Oh. Um... Y-yeah. It kind of is a little creepy...

[ kaneis if you start telling scary stories again i s2g ]

[Gosh he won't! How immature do you think he is??]

Yeah, no kidding...

[He falls into silence, looking around the area. He's slightly tired, so he falls a couple steps behind as they continue on. Or at least, that what it seems like.]



[Except that- just when the spooky silence settles in for a couple minutes? He reaches over and lightly taps his nails on the back of Lloyd's neck.]

[Okay, so maybe the answer is pretty damn immature.]

[ okay so, thanks to a certain asshole behind him (read: Kaneis), Lloyd starts feelimg a little anxious about the forest around him. dammit, why did he have to get blue wings? why couldn't they be yellow, or red like his coat? that would have been cool!

unfortunately that thought is cut short because oh my god wHAT THE FUCK JUST TOUCHED HIS NECK ]

GYAAAH!

[ he jumps, his wings jostling from the sudden movement. hope you like the taste of mana feathers, asshole. ]

[wilder]

[The wing slapping into him is enough to knock him back- buuut that still doesn't stop the snickering as he stumbles to catch his balance. Well, snickering and sneezing from feathers in the face.]

Whoa watch it Lloyd!

[ the snickering is lost on him as he tries to recompose himself. he's fine. he's a-okay. anything could have brushed the back of his neck right there. a leaf. a molted feather. anything that definitely wasn't a disembodied hand.

oh boy.

he rubs at the back of his neck, at the spot where he felt the touch. ]

Y-you didn't... Did you, uhh. Did you see anything just now?

[wilder]

[Wow. Really? He didn't put two and two together?]

[Well, he could confess. Or...]

Hmmm, no?

[ you should know better by now, Kaneis. but no, Lloyd's officially spooked right now, if the horrified look on his face were any indicator.

well, he also paled, but that's a little hard to see with such dim lighting. ]

Y-you sure? Seriously man, I swear I felt something touch my neck just now.

[ he doesn't notice the little light, greener in tinge than his own wings, float past the two of them. ]

[It's a good thing he's barely smiled that past year. It made excellent training to keep straight face]

Sorry, I've only seen us here.

[And then he points at one of the little light]

Well, us and that little green light thing now.

Little green...?

[ that has Lloyd a little on edge and he slowly follows his finger to figure out wtf he's talking about, when... oh. that little green light thing. Lloyd follows it with his eyes as it floats into the forest, where it's joined by another green light.

and another. and another.

actually, there's quite a bit of them. and they only seem to be growing in number. ]

Fireflies?

[wilder]

It looks like fireflies, but where did they-

[He steps forward to get a closer look. But as he does so, his hand brushes against a flower that was growing on the end of the path. It causes the flower to shake and several little red lights (the same color as the flower), to fall out into the air]

- Whoa! Hey, check it out!

[idealistic]

[ Kaneis's cry startles Lloyd in looking away from the "fireflies" to figure out why he cried out in the first place, and he's met with pleasant surprise. the red lights are unexpected but also mystifying-- beautiful, in a way. he watches as they join the other lights in the forest, which only seemed to further increase.

green lights. red lights. yellow lights. blue lights. they danced around each other and around the trees, almost like waves ebbing and flowing against the shoreline. ]

They look like stars...

[wilder]

Yeah...

[Even Kaneis, mister tries to be apathetic about everything, finds himself pausing to watch the little lights dance around one another, with a feeling of awe. ]

That's...really pretty!

[What he likes colorful shiny lights ok]

[ hey, he's not blaming him. don't forget that Lloyd is a budding astronomy nerd so.

one particular cluster actually breaks away from the throng within the trees and circles around Lloyd and Kaneis, almost playfully. the way it circles around him startles him, causing him to step back with a small laugh as he watches it rejoin the group. entranced, Lloyd steps forward with the intent of experiencing being in the middle of that sea of stars.

yeah, you might want to stop him. ]

[wilder]

[Yeah he was busy admiring the view himself when he notices...the blue glow is going away from him and it's getting darker. He looks away to notice Lloyd wandering very near the edge of the path]

Hey, no you don't!

[He steps over, reaches out and grab Lloyd by his ribbon thingies, pulling him back]

We're staying on the path, remember?

[idealistic]

Hurk--!

[ why do people like to grab him by those so much, god. at least it does its job, though, breaking him out of that trance as he stumbles back. he blinks back at the flowing lights before looking over at Kaneis.

what. what just happened. ]

[Let's be real Lloyd, to grab you is probably the entire reason Dirk put those ribbons on you. And he meanwhile gives a wag of his finger and a slight scolding face]

You heard me. Rule number one of magical forests - don't stray from the path.

[ goddammit dad ]

I-I knew that! This isn't the first time I've been in a magical forest! [ don't give him that look, he knew perfectly well what he was getting himself into! he has experience from Gaorrachia!!

he ignores the burning in his cheeks (because the last thing he needed was for Kaneis of all people to scold him like a child) and turns back to the path. ]

Come on, let's keep moving.

[wilder]

[He meanwhile eases up on the scolding face to give a little snort]

If you say so, man.

[Still the one who wanted go in here and tried to stray off the path!! What is trust here man. But he'll keep on walking. Sometimes, discreetly, as they walk if there's a flower or brush that is in arm's length of him- he'll reach over and brush against it to see the lights come out of it]

[What? He said it was pretty]

[ yeah he's just gonna keep going with a pout on his face, though it does fade after about a minute or so. occasionally he hears the plants rustling even though he was pretty sure neither of them were walking close enough to them to disturb them. at one point he looked back in time to see some of the lights floating out of a nearby bush and heading into the forest.

after god knows how long (another hour? who even knows man), Lloyd's feeling impatient and bored. again. with a sigh, he turns back to Kaneis. ]

How long's it been now?

[wilder]

[He honestly was starting to feel bored himself as he walked in silence. Just how long was this forest supposed to go anyway?]

How should I know? I don't have a watch.

[idealistic]

Yeah, but...

[ yeah, he's got nothing. he's starting to regret coming in here. with a frustrated groan, he kicks a pebble that hits a nearby tree sapling. yellow and green lights are shaken out and swirl around the pair before joining the other in the forest. ]

If this stupid forest wasn't so dark I could tell...!

[wilder]

[Did it make him a petty man to feel some level of satisfaction by Lloyd's frustration? ...Eh, like he cared.]

Hey, c'mon- look on the bright side, Lloyd.

Sure we're stuck in a dark forest with a path that never seems to end. But at least we don't have to worry about resorting to cannibalism!

[ the next pebble that he kicks is kicked backwards. it's sent in Kaneis's direction. ]

Very funny, Kaneis.

[ he doesn't notice because of his fuming, but there's some rustling coming from the forest. ]

[wilder]

[That pebble will hit and bounce off his leg. It doesn't really hurt, but he'll still make a "heeeey" sound. So rude Lloyd!]

[Except oh, what was that rustling?]

[ the rustling stops before Lloyd takes notice. he looks around, opening his wings a little in an attempt at more light, but it doesn't help any. ]
