[ Chris is one of the first to arrive via cheating with magic. It's free of his lullaby, the memories they bring, and for a while he simply lays himself out on the grass despite the cool of the air and breathes. He'll move in a while. Or when you step on him. Whichever. ]
spa;
[ This spa looks way too nice to be safe, but Chris is willing to try it out with his guard up. The outdoor pools make him feel more protected, like he can see what's going to happen or if he needs to beat a quick escape. It's definitely better than ten minutes of hot water shared between three people on a tiny ship, that's for sure. He just can't stop looking out into the forest... ]
forest, closed to varric & shirley;
[ Yeah, he's not too cautious to not give it a try. This magic is almost overwhelming, like a fog trying to worm into his lungs and choke him, but it doesn't. It doesn't do anything. He's curious what the magic means and is ready to get in and check it out. If nothing else, he's got his powers and can fight to safety if he needs to. ]
forest, round two;
[ That first run went a bit... well. We won't talk about the first run, but Chris is curious what happens a second time. Now that he knows the tricks and the treat at the end, what is the forest going to try doing this time? He stands outside the entrance, waiting to see if anyone else is thinking about the same. Buddy system is probably for the best, he's learned. ]
round two!
so she... waves! hello.]

[what a fascinating planet. feels a little like a very, very old version of home... Robin can be found out and about in the fields, near the ships, but mostly at the edge of the woods. he's spending a lot of time gazing into the trees and looking very thoughtful about something...
a perfect time to come bother him, or ask if he's going to go into the forest...!]
[ the spa ]
[but you know what? fuck it. this spa is probably a trap and he doesn't even care. anyone is welcome to find him soaking his heart out in in the very public open-air hot springs, where he might just die happy. also, he's... not wearing... anything. at all. so there's that.]
[ the forest ]
[interested in finding him in the middle of the forest...? somewhere along your journey, in a very dense part of the woods, you can hear his voice up ahead... he must be just around the corner.]

[The Wonderduck lands smoothly this time, partly thanks to him getting used to this- and partly because the landing conditions weren't nearly as bad as the last two planets. Thank goodness for that.]
[Once he's off the ship, it's not long at all before Kaneis winds up at the spa. Sure, he knows it could be (and likely is) a trap- but considering it's been goddess knows how long since he's had a relaxing bath? He frankly doesn't give a shit. Sure. Let some monster eat him. As long as he gets to feel clean first.]
[So, the easily spot to find him would be sitting out chest-deep in the hotsprings against some rocks- relaxing it up and actually looking like he's in a good mood for once. Sure, he knows he should probably be more cautious about covering up that crystal on his chest- but the water just feels so warm and not like a crappy shower. Surely he can throw caution to the wind just this once right.]
[B. Enchanted Forest]
[Eventually he drags himself from the hot springs to fill the curious inclination he's been getting about the Enchanted Forest. He can be seen (fortunately fully clothed now), by the sign. The sign that he's reading very intently, frowning, and crossing his arms]
[And then after a moment pause, he turns away from the sign and starts walking away from the forest. Because seriously after going to school next to a cursed labyrinth forest? Screw that. ]
[However if people feel he should be dragged along on their little journeys through the forest, that wouldn't be out of line]
[tales of spa]
It is after a moment that he actually notices the rock on Zelos's chest. His head tilts a little, and he smiles.] That's a cool-looking modification.
[And miss.]

[Once she has some free time, it's not too long before Shirley leaves the company of her shipmates and heads for the bathhouse for some time on her own. She likes her shipmates just fine, but some time away from the guys is nice all the same.
Currently she's relaxing in one of the hotsprings, keeping her hair out of the water with an extra towel to avoid drawing attention with a light show. That business aside, the water's warm and relaxing and a nice reprieve from recent stresses - not to mention, just the feel of open air and time to relax is refreshing after days on a ship. Ahhhhhh.
It does feel like something's missing though.]
It's strange being here on my own...I wish the girls back home were here, too.
[Forest]
[But of course, once she's bathed for a while at the spa she can't shake the urge to return to the forest. Her first run with the rest of her crew's been quite an experience and not really something she'd like to relive, but still something's telling her to go back inside.
The result is that Shirley ends up pacing around the path's start, alternating between checking out the
automatonrobot and glaring at the ground. She's very frustrated right now: she's spent several minutes doing this, and she hates being indecisive.][Forest]

[Sokka is standing by the Blue Fish, his arms folded, looking out at everything around them with a distinct state of unimpressed. He's been dragged into too many shenanigans (usually by Aang) that started out just like this. He might still be slightly bitter about the nomad song, too.]
On a scale of one to stupid, this is moronic.
Spa:
[But a spa, now a spa is something AWESOME, and FAMILIAR. So Sokka has spent a lot of his time here, soaking happily in the warm water and relaxing for a change. Man, Katara would love this. Suki, too. They'd never leave.]
Forest:
[He'll be standing outside the forest reading the sign. His soak has made him a little more susceptible to ADVENTURE!!! But he's still Sokka.]
I don't know. I don't like this being lost idea. How lost? Are we talking oops, wrong turn now we're where we're started lost, or are we talking walking around in circles forever until we die lost? Because those are two different things.

[She doesn't need a jacket, she's quite fine in her Dan hoodie, and doesn't mind the chill besides, but getting here is borderline overwhelming. It feels so much like home compared to where she's been and what she's seen, and nothing is as ominous as it should really be. The magic is heavy, yes, and mysterious, but she doesn't shun it at all.
When she's not standing around in a state of contemplative, existential, and emotional awe, she's gathering earth, lifting chunks of it with her magic before shrinking them down, wrapping them in leaves and putting them in her satchel.]
[Spa]
[Honestly, whatever's going on with the water or whatever else is entirely unneeded. She knows she'll be heading inside the forest eventually, it's a foregone conclusion. But, in the meantime, she is very diligently making the rounds around the spa. With everything weighing on her mind as it does, it's a little hard to let herself go, but she does. Mostly.
i. outdoor bath
Curiously, there are fresh rose petals and lavender flowers in the bath she's in outside, now how did those get there? And, if she's not soaking, she's sitting atop some rocks while she paints her nails. The brush is moving all on its own, or so it seems, from a distance. The steam could be playing tricks on you. If someone else shows up, she'll have it in her hand, but the water and heat are so relaxing...there might be a bit of a delay in her reaction time. She also has a black tattoo on the back of her left hand, and bandages wrapped around her upper right arm.
ii. indoor pool
If she's not doing laps in the pool, she's on an inflatable bed, except it's not an inflatable bed--it's a giant lily pad. Still, her eyes are shut, and, occasionally, her arms lazily cut through the water like there is nothing unusual about this state of affairs.
And no, there aren't other giant lily pads around somewhere. Too bad, huh?]
[Forest]
[Nothing was more inevitable than her coming here, and she knows she'll go in regardless, but the poem as her feeling uneasy for several reasons, some that she'd rather not entertain, at the moment. Still, she's looking forward to having decent conversations with trees, as well as people if anyone decides they're going to join her.]
There's something very powerful about this forest.
[The words aren't mumbled or said in any sort of musing manner, they're for whoever's just shown up. She does not need words for trees.]
Forest
[The forest, however, catches his interest. Even if his eye can't pick up anything nefarious about the forest, he still feels a bit wary of it. Though, part of him is more inclined to think "enchanted forest" is just a gimmick for tourists. Plant life did seem to be a rare commodity in this sector of the galaxy - he could easily see naives people falling for the idea that some oak tree was effing magical because it had acorns or whatever.]
[This girl near the entrance though, catches his interest]
You can...sense something about it?

[he's very quietly shown up to the bathhouse without his facepaint or his heavy coat... which just makes him a normal dude standing around in his normal dude clothes, trying to figure out what to do.
he seems kind of lost. uncomfortable. there's a lot to do, here, and he's never... done anything like this before... and he's still considering just turning around and going back to his ship... maybe this was a terrible idea.]

Trying to decide if you want to enjoy the water? It's quite good, I'll admit.
[Garak himself is nude, sunken down so the water is at his neck. He doesn't seem particularly shy, but then, why should he be? Cardassians, unlike some species, don't keep their genitals whipped out all the time, and as long as he's not everted, how is this any different than wearing a t-shirt?]

[Coil is staying far away from the springs, where there are pools of water deep enough to cause a tide of panic to rise in his head even from a distance. he'll stay way over here on dry ground, thank you very much.
and really, with how crowded and dark the ship has been, a wide open field is very appealing. he finally has room to breathe and think. and as such, he ranges far out into the meadow until he finds a quiet place away from everything, where the grass is short and comfortable.
there, he can be found seated with bits of paper placed all around him--symbols scribbled on them and weighted down by small rocks--and a small pile of... what looks like maybe food scraps collected in front of him. all thoughtful and distant and tuned out from his surroundings.]
→ forest
[okay so... he's tried this with other people a few times by now, with generally abyssmal results. so, he's managed to get away from the rest of his crew so he can maybe brave the forest on his own.
because that's a great idea.
so, there is now a grungy, scarred-up teen with one eye lurking around the entrance of the forest, working up the willpower to set in on his own.]
no subject
Besides, he's tired of sitting and doing nothing. So, after a respectable amount of time, Garak gets up and heads into the forest himself. His feet pad silently on the ground; he drifts along like a ghost, very nearly not there at all.]

[well... the ship is parked and the cargo bay door is open, creating a convenient ramp down to the ground... but Nel hasn't gotten that far.
knees drawn up and looking nervous, watching the activity around the hot springs from afar, the elf is just sitting there on the ramp. he doesn't want to stay cooped up inside, but he... seems pretty spooked by this whole planet. it's probably best to just stay right here.]
→ spa
[he can't stay hovering around the ship forever, though. whenever he's coaxed (or bullied) to explore far enough to get to the hot springs, he loosens up quite a bit.
if there's one thing he's great at, it's taking advantage of luxuries like this. living with dozens of girls throughout you life makes you pretty well-versed in the pampering department.
he can be found frolicking all over-- indoors, outdoors, swimming or lounging in pretty much every pool. you're lucky if he remembers to wrap up in a towel as he's moving around, and when he is actually dressed in the machine-provided trunks, they don't fit him very well. they tend to hang off his hips a little, forcing him to hold onto them as he's running around.
but really... it's the machines that he's the most excited about. he is dead set on trying every product they have available. so he can also be found tinkering with and banging on any vendor that is a little too rusty to cooperate easily.]

[Tek is pretty much just going to live in the springs if that's alright with everyone here. he spends literal days there, doing nothing but moving lazily from one pool to another, slowly regulating his temperature over the course of hours like a big lizard, and shamelessly indulging the hell out of himself.
his favorite though, is lazing out in the outdoor pools while there is a fluffy dusting of snow falling overhead. utter perfection.
also... trunks are for losers.]
→ forest
[and as nice as the hot springs are... the call of the big spooky forest is still too much even for him. there's just so much energy lurking there, so many deep wells of stuff that the last planets had lacked. he needs it... so, he can't stay away for long.
regardless of all the things that the forest has been been showing and tempting him with, he keeps going back. getting lost and wandering over and over again, until it's hard to remember why he'd started in the first place.
so, anyone could find him during one of their journeys. just a well-dressed man wandering across the path, looking entirely out of place with his surroundings but somehow fitting in as if he's just another image conjured up by this place.
it feels so nice to let his own threads mix with everything that is woven here...]
spa;
Of course, he can't simply lie in peace. When Tek returns from the outdoors (Garak will not go out there), he's rewarded with a lazy smirk.]

[Oh, thank god. Garak doesn't run, but he walks very rapidly towards the spa as soon as he hears of it. It's not nearly hot enough, no, not for his tastes-- but compared to the icy fields and snow drifts, it's heaven. He sheds his clothes and sinks into the water, eyes half-closed lazily, outright basking in the heat.]
forest
[The first time, thank god, he's on his own, and so he sees dear Mila on his own. What happens next is . . . not his finest moment, perhaps, but at least he doesn't stray off the past. He's not so stupid as that, nor is he yet so desperate for home.
But curiosity gets the better of him, and it's not long before he ventures back in-- this time, far more on his guard, and far more eager to see what others do.]

[Axel is so not sure about this whole naked with strangers gig. Admittedly, ten minutes of hot water on the ship is pretty sparse, and baths are nice, but this feels so... vulnerable. He's standing outside the shower area, still fully clothed, a hand on his chin as he considers this seriously, weighing all the pros and cons. Pros: hot relaxing bath, no worrying about the hot water running out, and a lot more elbow room than the dinky showers on the ship. Cons: naked with strangers. Siiiiigh decisions, decisions...]
[forest; closed to Sora, Riku, and Robin]
[The text from Riku is urgent, and though Axel responds that Riku 'isn't the boss of him', he decides to heed the message anyway. He's not sure what Riku wants to meet in front of the forest about, but he's been kind of curious the whole time he's been planetside. There's something about these woods that draws him to them, something ineffable, indefinable... maybe it has something to do with that song he keeps hearing. There's something really eerie about this whole planet, this entire thing, and he can't quite put a finger on it, but Riku strikes him as the All Work and No Play sort, so maybe he wants to meet to discuss findings. A briefing, if you will. Axel can do briefings--he got through enough of Xemnas', after all. Riku's surely can't be any less interesting...
[He waits at the edge of the woods, casually playing a word game on his communicator, one eye on his surroundings in case anybody tries getting the drop on him. Hey, when you work as an assassin as long as he has, you learn to trust absolutely no one.]

he wanders off from where the Wonderduck was stationed with his swords at his hips until he reaches a nice and "secluded" location, far from any prying eyes. he draws his swords and gets to work, keeping the training regimen Kratos had given him in mind: first there were some basic warm ups and drills, and soon enough he's slashing in the air, attacking imaginary enemies with fast, controlled strokes. he's in the zone, intent on making sure that incident doesn't repeat itself again. he can't risk being useless now.
if there's anyone watching him, he doesn't notice immediately. you just better hope that you're not in the path of one of his attacks, because that might not end well.*
*note that i'm not intending on having him injure anyone. ]

...Huh! [ well, consider his interest piqued. the last time he went through an enchanted forest, it was enchanted full of undead and Zelos only added to the eerie mood by telling scary stories. is he one to turn down a challenge, though? hell no! the forest doesn't look as bad as Gaoracchia Forest, and the path looks pretty clear.
this is gonna be a piece of cake!
the only thing stopping him from going in guns blazing (so to speak) is the sound of movement from next to him. he turns to whoever happens to be next to him with a smile. ]
Hey, you tried going through here yet?

LET'S HAVE A NAKED HOTSPRINGS PARTY: EVERYONE INVITED
no subject
[The plain white underwear and sports bra hanging on the bushes might warn someone away from this bubbling spring... or they might entice them onwards, depending on their character.
Hange has chosen a pool with water hot enough to make her sweat, easily in view of the woods. She's also chosen a seat in the pool that affords her a view of the trees. Her glasses are propped up on her head, because the lenses steam up instantly, and she's flushed from the heat of the water... very flushed. All the way down, ahem.
Still, for the moment she's quiet, occupied more with staring off at the woods (though they're more a fuzzy green blob with areas of color varying between dark and light) speculatively. So curious... how does it make these illusions? At least she feels assured now, when she offered the idea to Zhas that the music was drawn from his own head, that she was correct. But how did it do that? And from so far away?
She'd be easy to sneak up on, she's so deep in thought, but not easy to scare. She's pretty relaxed right now though.]

All in all, making the best of things seems the wisest course of action.]
Strange that there seem to be so few animals about. [Yes, that is one of the first things on his mind. He wishes he could hunt, okay?]
Forest: [Finrod isn't as sensitive to these things as his sister, certainly, but it would be hard for him not to notice the feeling of something more- of magic, if you will- emanating from the forest. It's enough to make him want to investigate, even without the little robot chirping instructions. He leans forward, peering into the forest, and then turns back, looking to whoever happens to be around.]
I don't suppose you are armed? [He's all for exploring, but doing so without a weapon seems a little reckless for his tastes.]

[Set after Hange's first trip into the woods.
Her ship has a security officer, so everyone on it has guns. Hange now stands with one of those guns slung across her back, looking into the trees, expression wary and interested.
It looks like she's gearing up to go in. Just preparing herself beforehand. She glances at the people passing by her and smiles - she'd sort of like to sweep some of them back out. Then she starts off on the trail herself. She'll get to the center eventually, but it might take more rounds. For now, she's just observing.]
b. samples
Once the center is reached, she calms somewhat. The woods seem a bit more harmless now... not entirely declawed, but safer. And whatever they are, they are full of green life and potential resources.
What kind of scientist would Hange be if she let all that flow by?
So she can be found in the woods now. Moving from plant to plant, tending them like a farmer - actually, she's equipped with a marker, dozens of plastic bags, and her communicator.
She's pulling samples off of plants. What looks like seed pods, where she can find them, flowers and sometimes tubers where she can't. The samples get bagged, labeled, and photographed, with whatever notes that she thinks will help her remember the important stuff about the plant. Ideally... if they can get some samples growing on the ships... it's got to raise morale to have green and growing things around, right?
Her gun is still slung across her back but she's utterly concentrated on what her hands are doing.]
c. the spa
[More serious work done, she feels more inclined to do some lazing. The water is very nice... and it's a great opportunity to do some lazing. The have automated massage machines. How could she pass that up?
She alternates basking in the water (where she's turning very red) (and she's very naked; anyone looking at her can spot the criss-crossing calluses that stripe her skin in clear patterns), relaxing outside the heat, and adventurous as she is, she even takes a turn with letting the robots massage her, during which she practically purrs. Very content with her lot in life there.]
If only we had all this at home... [It must be the most pampered she's been in years.]
b!!!
What are you doing, Hange?
[ Whatever it is, it looks interesting, and she knows Hange enough to assume it's useful as well. ]
