It's just the truth. Those communicators are helpful, but I don't think anything could replace just talking face-to-face like this.

His name is Chris. Um...he's tall, with dark hair. I think he's in his twenties.

Oh, I think he's from the world of Earth. [he makes... a bit of a face.] I'm not from there, but a lot of other people are.

Like the ground, yeah, but that's the name of their whole planet. Weird, huh?

Nothing's bad about it, I just... Hear about it all the time, but no one ever shows up from my world...

From my world? [his horrible world...? though he initially raises an eyebrow at the thought, it doesn't take him long to think of a couple of names.] ...Yeah, I guess I do.

[For Shirley thinking of people to miss is as easy as thinking of home at all. It happens about as frequently. She decides not to say more about that.]

It's strange that they would have so many people from the same world. I wonder if there's some sort of connection.
