[ It's another day, another planet for the Drift Fleet to explore. Whether it be relaxing in the landing field, checking out the spa (and subsequently getting urged to enter the woods), or taking on the Enchanted Forest's game, there's enough to do for stir-crazy Fleet members.

Just remember one thing: make it look good. ]

[ the spa. ]

[he's very quietly shown up to the bathhouse without his facepaint or his heavy coat... which just makes him a normal dude standing around in his normal dude clothes, trying to figure out what to do.

he seems kind of lost. uncomfortable. there's a lot to do, here, and he's never... done anything like this before... and he's still considering just turning around and going back to his ship... maybe this was a terrible idea.]

[ forest. ]

[okay you crazy kids, it's time for a trip into the spooky evil forest. whoever you are, he's standing at the entrance and he is ready to get this over with.]

[It honestly takes him a moment to recognize his shipmate. He looks a good deal younger, but a good deal more friendly-- which might or might not be better, depending on your perspective. It certainly allows more emotions to filter through to the top-- Zhas looks outright worried as he glances around.]

Trying to decide if you want to enjoy the water? It's quite good, I'll admit.

[Garak himself is nude, sunken down so the water is at his neck. He doesn't seem particularly shy, but then, why should he be? Cardassians, unlike some species, don't keep their genitals whipped out all the time, and as long as he's not everted, how is this any different than wearing a t-shirt?]

[he takes a step back from the pool--maybe just out of instinct. he's sure not the most expressive human to ever be given eyebrows, but it's easy enough to tell he hadn't expected someone he recognizes to be right there.

his gaze very quickly darts down because dude what is he OH HE'S NOT WEARING ANYTHING OKAY he doesn't want to know. he quickly settles into a stony, vaguely irritable expression while he seriously considers turning around right now in the middle of Garak trying to talk to him.]

It'd be a shame to come all this way to simply turn around and sulk on the ship.

[WOULD IT? the jury is still out. he ends up rubbing his neck and looking back at the exit. "conflicted" would be his middle name if it wasn't already "bad at basic human interaction".]

Or is it that I've frightened you! My dear Zhas, let me assure you, I'm entirely harmless.

[theboogieman]

[oh. okay.

his attention snaps back to shoot Garak a dirty look--and it doesn't take him long to walk back up to the edge of the pool and crouch closer to eye level. his eyes are very normal-looking under all this light. his glare isn't nearly as sharp.]

What do I do.

[Oh, boys of a certain age certainly are predictable. Garak doesn't laugh, but it's a close thing.]

Simply enjoy the water!

[ugh, he's so friendly. it's bothersome. Zhas makes a sound that's probably a sigh.]

[Nunnally has been preparing for this all day. She's normally not one for... adventures. Those were for people who could walk, run, fight... not be a burden. But she's sure that the music broadcast is coming from the forest, and after spending time at the spa she feels more confident in her hunch to investigate.

Nestled next to her, between her and one of her chair's armrests is a satchel. Inside is some "snacks" (fine... flavored protein from the ship), basic first aid supplies, a flashlight, and various other bits and bobs that she thought they might need.

Ah, but she's nearly there. Too late to back out now, since she spots a certain someone up ahead by the entrance. She waves, trying not to seem nervous about the forest that lies ahead]

[ooc: maybe we can do some timey wimey shenanigans, and say this happens after they meet up and say hi at an earlier way station?]

[he turns when he hears her wheeling closer, and gives one of his customary tiny waves back... Zhas doesn't appear nervous in the slightest, but half of his effectiveness as a terrifying hunter of the undead depends on his ability to keep his thoughts and feelings off of his face.

he looks her over, gives a little nod at the satchel (very good, planning ahead), and... barely gives the forest another look before he starts walking right for the entrance and the start of the path. he went in a little, before, with Hange... but he's now mostly sure that what they saw was not real, so there's no reason to hesitate.]

[ooc: yeah, that sounds fine! we can backtag the other stuff later...]

[just going for it, huh? His decisive movements give her a bit more confidence, and she pushes her chair a bit faster to catch up, and then slows it down to match his pace as best she can. She glances up at him, then back at the forest]

Is this your first attempt going inside?

[as she looks at it some more she can't help but think it's pretty]

[he shakes his head. he's keeping his eyes more or less on the road, because most of his attention is going to his hearing. it makes him seem a little less paranoid than he is when he's in the city--there's a lot less to look at, and he knows what to listen for.]

[blindoptimism]

[she nods, and watches him further to see what he's doing. Listening? Hmm. She speaks again in a softer tone]

Would it be easier if I was quiet as we travel? [she asks in a tone that implies she wouldn't be offended if the answer was yes]

[he shakes his head. he doesn't really mind, since...]

It's a long trip.

[blindoptimism]

That's true. [hmm, she trundles along, pausing before she begins talking again]

I'm sure that the strange music that everyone was hearing is coming from here. I wonder what might be hiding in the center...?

[theboogieman]

[he doesn't like to think about it... even with what Hange told him, he can't shake the feeling that he's going to run into someone he knows in the center, waiting for him. he glances at her, after a moment, as something suddenly occurs to him.]

What did you hear.

[The crunch of stray twigs and occasional rustle of grasses heralds Hange coming up behind him. Noise deliberately accentuated, considerately so as not to surprise him.]

Going in?

[he does not snap around or startle, so good job hange. he looks over his shoulder at her, thinking... but eventually nods in response.]

[Good, good. She picks up the pace and whacks him on the back, the usual greeting.]

I'll go in with you.

[theboogieman]

[he doesn't exactly look enthused about the idea--but he swings his arm around to give her shoulder a shove forward, in return. he seems to be implying that she should go forward into the forest.]

[She grunts a little... but takes a step forward. Before proceeding any further, she looks back, though.]

Is that a yes?

[theboogieman]

[he... nods, a little, while walking forward after her. a grumpy nod. he doesn't really like the idea of this forest at all, but going in with Hange is... probably a good idea?]

[Maybe so... after all, she has her own distractions waiting in here. Nightmares and things she needs to attend to both. But now she knows they aren't real, so she'll do better. She sets off, though she's trying to keep an eye on him too.]

[as long as she doesn't flip out again, Zhas will be fine. probably. he looks irritable (at least, more than usual), but he walks at an even pace and keeps his eyes on the road and hopes that whatever they come across is less obnoxious than the first one.

...he's content to walk in silence, so...]
