[well... the ship is parked and the cargo bay door is open, creating a convenient ramp down to the ground... but Nel hasn't gotten that far.
knees drawn up and looking nervous, watching the activity around the hot springs from afar, the elf is just sitting there on the ramp. he doesn't want to stay cooped up inside, but he... seems pretty spooked by this whole planet. it's probably best to just stay right here.]
→ spa
[he can't stay hovering around the ship forever, though. whenever he's coaxed (or bullied) to explore far enough to get to the hot springs, he loosens up quite a bit.
if there's one thing he's great at, it's taking advantage of luxuries like this. living with dozens of girls throughout you life makes you pretty well-versed in the pampering department.
he can be found frolicking all over-- indoors, outdoors, swimming or lounging in pretty much every pool. you're lucky if he remembers to wrap up in a towel as he's moving around, and when he is actually dressed in the machine-provided trunks, they don't fit him very well. they tend to hang off his hips a little, forcing him to hold onto them as he's running around.
but really... it's the machines that he's the most excited about. he is dead set on trying every product they have available. so he can also be found tinkering with and banging on any vendor that is a little too rusty to cooperate easily.]
field-latest, but someone had to do this
Nel. Surely you do not intend to sit there the entire time we are stopped? [What kind of elf are you, man?]
yaaaay
Oh... I'll go look around eventually.
[which is a lie, as far as he's concerned.]

Something troubles you.

instantly a little intimidated, but not necessarily in a bad way.]
Oh, um... no, I'm fine. I just... am worried, I guess,
no subject
Because of the transmissions, I assume? It is suspicious, certainly. Like as not, we were meant to come here, which does not bode well. Yet what can one do in such circumstances, but reap what benefits we are able?
no subject
Yeah...
[and he's mostly agreeing because you just Don't correct someone like this. he words the truth as an add-on instead of a correction.]
...And also, um... it's the trees, I guess. The forest.
no subject
[That honestly never would have crossed his mind.]
Why should it trouble you so?
no subject
[he hugs his arms to himself, against more than just the ambient chill.]
...And scary.
no subject
Has no one taught you woodcraft?
no subject
Is that, like... building stuff?
[best elf. best.]

--Haa, no. I didn't go to the temples enough for something like that.
no subject
Would you like to learn?
no subject
[an obviously nervous glance sent in the direction of the forest]
...Maybe?

--Because the wilderness where I'm from is, like... really dangerous.

Oh yeah, no one leaves the city walls because of it. It's super-deadly. There's monsters and stuff, and they talk about the trees themselves having gone crazy.
...Even the trees and parks inside the city are watched closely because of it.
no subject
Where I am from, there are beings which resemble trees, save that they may walk and speak much as any other race. They watch over those which lack their gifts- Shepards of the Trees, tending their flocks. Ents, we call them, though they have a much longer name in their own tongue. It almost sounds as though you describe similar creatures who have descended into madness.

Nel's world is ailing, staggering along at the end of its days, and every creature knows it in some deep, quite part of themselves.]
...Yeah, I guess.
All I know for sure is that it's all dangerous outside the city. The forest will kill you for being there.

...Alright.
