[ It's another day, another planet for the Drift Fleet to explore. Whether it be relaxing in the landing field, checking out the spa (and subsequently getting urged to enter the woods), or taking on the Enchanted Forest's game, there's enough to do for stir-crazy Fleet members.

Just remember one thing: make it look good. ]

[ holy shit Ino does not even care if the entire universe sees her naked, THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER. She's stepping into the outdoor springs -- no clothes, of course -- and sinking into the water with a happy sigh. Thank whatever deity made this possible for Floot Loop planet. ]

[Nel's still got a towel around his waist, but that's not going to last long. he's either slinging that thing off as soon as he gets to a pool, or it's going to fall right off of him. as it is, it's barely hanging onto his hips while his arms are busy being full of little vended bottles of shampoo and crap.

and--oh! hey there crewmate. he detours from wherever he'd originally been going, heading toward her pool instead.]

[ man whatever, in her mind nel is more like a child. innocent cutiepies are ok to peep. ]

Ah-- hey, Nel!

[ she makes a gesture to the water ] The water's great!

[he somehow manages to hit both extreme ends of the innocence scale--so he both kind of obviously looks her over when he reaches the pool, and also does absolutely nothing about it.]

Oh, good. Some of those pools are really hot.

[clumsily, he sets the armful of bottles down, and they go clattering around a little but don't actually roll into the water. the towel is next, folded halfheartedly and left nearby, before he scurries his way into the pool.]

...Man, I really hope all the planets aren't cold like these last ones have been. I'd love somewhere warm.

This one is just right, I think.

[ she stretches her arms above her head, before sinking in just far enough so her chin is touching the water ]

Tell me about it! I'm sick of all these cold planets, cold food, cold water ...

I guess I'm not used to it. It gets cold back home, but not... all the time like this.

[he reaches to scoop the bottles closer to his edge of the pool once he's settled, lining them up one by one.]

...And I don't know if you're actually supposed to use this stuff in the springs out here, but... I guess it's not like there's anybody here to stop us.

[ino]

It's always warm where I come from. [ she pauses ] That kind of weather just reminds me how far away from it I am.

[ ... well, that was a bit heavy, but -- nel, you're so cute with all your bottles ]

You're right, I don't think anybody's going to stop you.

[catamite]

[he's actually a surprisingly good listener when he's got the focus for it. so, he doesn't miss that bit of heaviness--though he does act as though it never happened.

he just shoots her a smile from the side.]

--Oh hey, you're blonde.

[and he plucks one certain bottle from the rest and offers it out to her.]

This stuff says it's just for blonde hair. You want to try it?

[ she blinks, holding a hand out curiously ]

Sure, why not. Can't be any worse for my hair than the unlabeled soap on the ship.

[catamite]

Ugh, that stuff is awful. I mean... I'm used to junky stuff, but that soap still makes my hair feel like straw.

[and the little bottle doesn't seem to be shampoo exactly. maybe something more like a leave-in conditioner. it claims to soften and brighten blonde hair, but might just make it smell nice.]

[ino]

Tell me about it ...

[ sniffing the product before putting a little on her hand to investigate. ]

Hmm ... I think it's conditioner?

[catamite]

[it's probably pretty cheap crap by conventional standards, but it's better than the stuff on the ships.]

I hope it's good. I was going to try it, but I still have dye and stuff in my hair, so... I didn't know if it would work right or not.

[ino]

[ looks up from the conditioner ]

Oh? I didn't realize that wasn't your natural color.

[birdsbirdsbirds]

[man speaking of people who don't care if the whole universe sees them naked, Robin was actually dozing near the edge of the pool, probably on the other side...

until someone else gets in, and just that little bit of noise--he starts awake, surprised, until he's suddenly laughing at himself.]

Shit, I almost fell asleep...

[ she had sensed that there were other people around, but she hadn't paid much attention since she was dying to get in a soak. The voice does sound familiar, though, and she turns around to confirm --]

Oh-- it's you.

It's me. [he looks over, sinking back down into the water... but gives her a little wave.] Hello. Am I in trouble?

[ino]

[ lifts an eyebrow ... ]

Not as long as you stay on your side of the pool.

[ dont get creepy and grabby and she will tolerate you ]

[SO HE'S BASICALLY IN TROUBLE. he smiles.]

You got it. No weird looks or anything.

[ino]

[ basically, but this is just so awesome that she honestly can't be assed to punch anybody. She's content to sit and float for a moment, soaking up the warmth, before -- ]

I was beginning to lose hope that I'd ever be able to take a hot bath again.

You're telling me... [he's absolutely going to go back to lazing against the side of the pool, bringing up his arms and laying his chin on them...] I haven't had a hot bath in... worlds, actually.

[ino]

[ a little laugh ]

Worlds? You mean besides the planets we've passed so far?

[birdsbirdsbirds]

Hah, yeah. I'm not talking planets.

There have been a lot of... Mm, places where people are collected from all over the galaxy, all realities, you know... [he gestures vaguely.] And the last three or so? Barely any hot water to be found. A real tragedy.

[ so there's others, besides Paradisa and Exsilium ... well, and here, apparently. ]

For the longest time, I guess I just assumed there was only the one that I was in. [ a bit of a wry smile ] I guess that's pretty self centered, but finding out that there were more ...

Still, the ones you went to must have been pretty shitty.

I thought the exact same thing about my first place... And then I went to two more before winding up here. Two and a half if you count an odd jump to the future.

[REALLY, from his point of view... it doesn't make any goddamn sense. but that's game-travel, for you.]

A friend of mine told this theory he heard from someone else... That once you're uprooted a first time, it's a lot easier to get moved again.

[ she sinks into the water, looking up towards the sky ]

Talk about irritating, though ... who wants to be yanked around by all these "causes" and "higher powers"?
