[ It's another day, another planet for the Drift Fleet to explore. Whether it be relaxing in the landing field, checking out the spa (and subsequently getting urged to enter the woods), or taking on the Enchanted Forest's game, there's enough to do for stir-crazy Fleet members.

I thought the exact same thing about my first place... And then I went to two more before winding up here. Two and a half if you count an odd jump to the future.

A friend of mine told this theory he heard from someone else... That once you're uprooted a first time, it's a lot easier to get moved again.

Not me... The mysterious "higher power" on my own world was bad enough. At least they kept to themselves most of the time...

It's not very interesting, though. Mostly just a lot of men who are afraid to die.

Or do you mean it literally, like a deity?

There's none that I know of, or at least none that most people believe in, other than I guess our ancestors and loved ones watching over us after they die.

I did date a death god once in the last place I was, though.

You know, I can't remember. I think he had some nice tattoos though.

Tattoos are pretty cool... [and that implies he had, like, skin. so not this creepy skeletal "death" that all those Earth books keep portraying.] Why don't you remember, though?

[ daydreaming about tattooed abs. I mean wait what that was an important question. One that's actually been bugging her all around ]

... I don't know. I'd like to say it's the last place somehow continuing to be a pain in the ass even after I'm gone, but who knows if that's even possible ...

Something like that. The last place I was, it could give or take away memories at the drop of a hat. Sometimes you could get them back, but other times ... It was permanent.

The mind works in strange ways, if you fiddle with it enough. I just hope they'll come back to me eventually.

After the two or three year point it doesn't get much worse from there, if that's any consolation.

[ a sigh, putting her chin in her palms. after everything she went through at Paradisa, this place is really a piece of cake ... but she won't say that out loud, not when there's most likely a camera nearby somewhere ]

In any case, a lot of the memories of those times are still a little mixed up ... and even if I were to remember it all, there's a lot of people I'd remember who wouldn't remember me.

Eh, I'm actually kind of surprised by how often my conversations end in depressing, vague statements about being stuck in a bizarre place with nothing we can do about it.

Oh, those guys. [he leans back...] Indescribable, ineffable. The Gods are supposed to be all-knowing and all-powerful, but they whole mass of them come off as a bunch of jerks half the time.
