[ It's another day, another planet for the Drift Fleet to explore. Whether it be relaxing in the landing field, checking out the spa (and subsequently getting urged to enter the woods), or taking on the Enchanted Forest's game, there's enough to do for stir-crazy Fleet members.

Just remember one thing: make it look good. ]

Oh... [s-she looks a little awkward at having asked.] Sorry, I... Um, guess I'll just have to go through and see for myself...?

[maybe it's some weird fairy thing, like, they get to see visions of the future or their greatest wish or something like that. she bites her lower lip, thinking.]

Hey, uh, if you're going in again, would you... Mind if I maybe tagged along?

[ Chris offers her half of a smile, not even able to look at her while he does. ]

Yeah, absolutely. Come on. It took a while first time through, who knows how long it'll be now?

[ He motions for them to go ahead. He plans to stick next to Krista in case of any forest temptations so he can keep her from wandering off. ]

Okay... [a nervous laugh.] If you say so...

[sure, she'll get going... funnily she was more nervous about asking to come with than going into the spooky magic forest...]

[--but their first setback comes immediately, when Krista steps into the forest proper and suddenly looks way different. all of a sudden she's got creepy little unblinking eyes, messy, tangled hair, and this whole, uh, black victorian dress thing that she definitely wasn't wearing before.]

Whoa, what the-- [she still sounds like Krista, at least--taking a couple confused steps backwards.]

[ Chris moves aside when she transforms and begins reacting. He seems a bit stunned, not sure how to react, because that definitely didn't happen to him when he went in the first time. Maybe it's their types of magic being different or their species entirely but suddenly Chris is very thankful he doesn't seem compatible with the forest. ]

Whoa. That's... different. What are you?

[ladiesss]

I'm, uh-- [she... probably looks startled? she doesn't have a lot going on in the eyelids or eyebrows department, but she pats at her collar a little to make sure she's got a physical form and isn't just dreaming. wow. okay, um.] --Confused? And getting kind of really awkward really fast.

[ Chris looks over their shoulder, but no the exit is already disappearing. He sighs, brings a hand to the bridge of his nose momentarily. ]

It's... fine. It's fine. Are you hurt? Going... magically crazy in any way? Something I should know about?

[ladiesss]

No, uh, I'm just...

[oh, god. here it goes. okay. there's only one way out of this, and it's--]

Okay, no, it's gonna be way easier if I just fess up now and admit that I'm actually a scary changeling creature that has a ton of magic and my human self is basically just a disguise to keep my fairy soul from shriveling up and dying. There. Okay. I said it.

[A BIG... SIGH... as she rustles her long, slender fingers through her hair. ...are there spiders in there? there might be a couple of spiders.]

And I think this place is actually a glade which means... [a pause.] Actually, I'm still not sure why you can see this.

[ Chris just kind of sits back, takes her in, then shakes his head and shrugs. He's been able to sense magic about her but it wasn't his place to really pry. There's magic everywhere in this fleet. ]

Probably because I'm magic, too? Depends on what you mean by this, really. I went through here with someone who has no magic at all and he saw the place just fine, and all the tricks it had.

[ladiesss]

...Sure, I'm gonna go with that.

[sighs... and then sighs again for good measure.]

I'm sorry, but... You seem cool with... it?

[ It's the double sigh that gets her a weird look. Not the fairieness, but the sheer teenagerdom oozing off her right now. ]

Yeah... I mean—you're not evil, I can tell that much. At least your magic isn't. It's kind of cool, actually, that I'm not really the only one. And we're just taking a walk right now.

[ladiesss]

Not the only one with magic? [she thinks that's what he means. and since they are, uh, just taking a walk, she'll start shuffling forward again, picking up her Victorian skirts to do so.]

Yeah, that's what I meant. [ Not exactly, his other shipmate has some kind of magic too, but it's close enough. He walks alongside her as before, still sneaking looks every now and then to take in her whole form. ] So you're... a fairy?

[ladiesss]

I knew it...

[she... brushes off the front of her dress, self-conscious. it looks like it belongs in an old attic. not exactly fresh-off-the-runway, here.]

Yeah, uh. I'm a fairy. A Sluagh, specifically. One of the Kithain, and all that.

Knew it?

[ What's that supposed to mean? As for attic-appropriate, it's fine. Not exactly standard wear for anyone in his type of magical circles — it's either robes or something actually modern — but he really doesn't feel like making a fuss of silly costumes right now. ]

I don't really know that much about fairies. Not exactly my area of study.

[ladiesss]

That's... Uh, probably a good thing? They aren't exactly like, hanging out in the open. At least on the Earth where I'm from.

[...she circles back to the previous topic.]

You totally seem magical, though. You're like... [she gestures vaguely... but decides maybe she shouldn't describe exactly what it's like in case she's wrong. or offensive.]

Same here. Magic is kind of... if you don't know about it, you probably never will. We keep it hidden to keep ourselves safe.

[ He tilts his head at the gesturing, brows furrowed at her in confusion. If he seems magical, can she tell his magic isn't exactly normal? ] Like... what? Just say it.

[she nods a little to the first bit, and to the second...]

Uh, well... Mostly kind of mage-y. But also a little demon-y? It's hard to say.

[she's fudging it to be nice, of course. she can sense both powers distinctly.]

[ Chris pauses, head tilts to the side, then slowly nods and shrugs while he begins to move forward again. ]

Those are some pretty tuned senses you've got.
