WHO Forest planet occupants!
BROADCAST N/A
ACTION Enchanted Forest / Spa Time
WHEN Upon reaching the system (Jan. 4) to leaving it (Jan. 31)

[ It's another day, another planet for the Drift Fleet to explore. Whether it be relaxing in the landing field, checking out the spa (and subsequently getting urged to enter the woods), or taking on the Enchanted Forest's game, there's enough to do for stir-crazy Fleet members.

Just remember one thing: make it look good. ]

[Michael hasn't been up and about all that long, so he's missed quite a bit of the excitement of the preceding days. He's not sure what happened to him while he was away, but it's difficult to divorce himself from the occasional flashes of claustrophobia. It's not really in him to be afraid, but he finds the sensations unpleasant.

Thus, he finds himself stepping out onto the planet to ease his mind. The lush forest is welcome after the confines of the ship, and he breathes in the scents of life. Earth or not, it fills him with a kind of peace he's been missing since he arrived in the fleet, and his feet set to wandering.

Eventually he comes across the spring, either by insight or the siren signal of the underthings hanging on the brush. He's not trying to sneak up on her or even keep out of sight. That would assume he had either shame or a sense of propriety, which he doesn't. He does wait until he gets up the edge of the water until he speaks, however

["Shame" is an outmoded notion that stops people from having a good time, as far as Hange's concerned, and you've got to have a good time! Or else you're just going to be very sad.

She knew that someone coming across her was quite likely. As such, she prepared herself for the eventuality, at least on a mental front, and only glances towards Michael with a grin. She can't see very well without her glasses, but the vague features and voice recognition are enough -]

Well, well, well... look who it is.

I'm just wondering about the secrets of those trees. [As one does.]

[He glances up and around, his hands stuffed casually in his coat pockets, as if a naked woman wasn't a few feet away]

Funny thing about trees. They're good at keeping secrets. [Which isn't to say he's wondered that too]

[She's not especially self-conscious - living in close quarters with a lot of people has stripped her of whatever body-shy tendencies she might have had. So, she's not going to make a big thing of it.

She looks thoughtful at his words...]

Funny thing about these trees... I feel like they might be able to be a bit more proactive than most. Have you explored the forest at all?

[personal profile] parkinglotangel 2015-01-15 09:03 am (UTC)(link)
Not much. I'm just getting around to stretching my legs. Seems like I took an extra long nap somewhere other than ship.

[He looks down at his shoes, then back to Hange] What about the trees?
aberrant_type: (teeth bared.)

[personal profile] aberrant_type 2015-01-16 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
[A long nap? Sounds interesting... she glances at him, and then back towards the trees, bundling thoughts, thinking about what threads she ought to pursue.]

They're quiet mysterious. You'll see if you venture into the woods. [A brief flash of toothy smile.] Strange visions...

[It's the best way he can describe where he disappeared to for a week. It had felt a lot like sleeping, except it was the opposite of restful. This planet, on the other hand, is doing a slightly better job]

What did you see?

[He hunkers down at the edge of the pool and tests the heat of the water idly]

[personal profile] aberrant_type 2015-01-22 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
A certain type of creature that poses dangers to humans at home.

[The water's hot enough to steam. Hange is flushed all over from it. She watches him idly.]

Not real, in the end, it seems. But they were made to appear quite convincing...

[He hums thoughtfully as he stands up and begins to toe off his shoes.]

The subject of the war you were fighting?

[He only knows she's a soldier and that the war was going badly, but not what it was about]

The very same! I'm a researcher, and they're my subject of choice. They're called titans. Big bastards. Lucky for all of us they weren't real...
parkinglotangel: (neutral)

[personal profile] parkinglotangel 2015-02-03 10:16 am (UTC)(link)
I hope they'd be big if you call them titans.

[The coat comes off next, which he takes the time to fold neatly as he talks. The doesn't seem to take care of much, but he babies the damned coat.]

How do you fight them?
aberrant_type: (point out the obvious.)

[personal profile] aberrant_type 2015-02-03 01:34 pm (UTC)(link)
You use special gear! The 3DMG. Three-D maneuver gear. [she gestures with her hands while she talks and little rills spread out in the water around her.] It consists of three parts: the harness, the flight belt, and the scabbards and swords. You have to use your blades to try and slice out the nape! That's the vulnerable point.

[personal profile] parkinglotangel 2015-02-06 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
How does it make you fly? [And he'll actually make little flapping motions with both hands]
aberrant_type: (point out the obvious.)

[personal profile] aberrant_type 2015-02-07 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha! Well, we don't literally fly. You always need a higher point to fire off of. The flight belt has the grappling hooks as part of it, and a spout for gas to escape. You fire the hook at the point you want to go to, and allow gas to escape to launch yourself. There are two hooks, so you can move from point to point using both of them.

[She points towards him!]

Aren't those wings going to be unwieldy while they're wet!

[He loses himself imaging this novelty of an idea, smiling to himself, when her question catches his attention]

Only a bit. Or have you never seen a duck? [At which point he'll grin and start unbuttoning his shirt]

[She watches him - not staring, but assessing.]

Well, who knows? You could be more like a pigeon and I think they get waterlogged...
