[Aww everyone look at this cute hippie girl with her sweet southern drawl not having a mental breakdown like the last time most of you would have seen her. She's also got a more festive get up on: a shiny gold bodice fits over her flowing black dress, bright purple and green scarves drape around her shoulders, and a jaunty top hat sits on her head. Grinning from ear to ear, she addresses the fleet:]

Hey y'all this is Misty! I don't know how much or what folks here know about Earth holidays and all that, but today's a big one where I come from: Mardi Gras. It's like... this big feast day right before a period of fastin' in preparation for Easter. It won't be the same without the parades and the costumes and the food - ain't got no gumbo in space apparently - but I found this sweet club called that plays some pretty good jazz and I sure would appreciate some company if y'all are interested in a little fun!

[After giving the location of the club and what time she'll meet you there, she picks up a glass full of what looks like beer and tilts it in the direction of her audience.]

[Remy debated for a moment if to correct her that he technically was a prince, but thought better of it. No reason to bring up with Guild, even as a line to use on her. Instead he sent a wink in her direction.] Too kind cherie, too kind.

Mind if I join ya? [Knowing the answer, or at least expecting a certain one, but still going through the motions of it all.]

Well that's why you're here, ain't it? Come on, I got a table over here.

[She takes him by the wrist and weaves through the crowd at the bar to a table right next to the dance floor. As they sit:]

I'm so happy there's someone else from home. I mean, I know you're probably from a different universe and all, with the way things work 'round here, but it's still nice.

[Remy smirked as he was pulled along, trailing just behind her so she had to keep her hand on his wrist during their movement through the crowd. Taking a seat at the table she had claimed, Remy put his drink down on it.]

I know what ya mean, it's nice to have a reminder of home, 'specially when ya 'way from it for so long.

[Misty’s forehead crinkles with concern.]

How long have you been here? It’s only been about a month for me.

Ahhh, [Remy started, pausing to take a drink from his glass.] Been a couple of months here, but before I was brought 'long to this little party I was at 'nother place. Different aliens, less cameras, more big science experiment gone wild, stuck under a giant dome. Was there 'bout... two years I think.

Wow. So there's more aliens out there, doin' this shit? All those people who claimed aliens stole their cows don't seem so crazy now.

Ain't it so? 'nd here I thought it was all from people off their meds or just tryin' to make a quick buck. Hell, was use to weird stuff at home, ya don't grow up in the Big Easy without knowin' there 'nother side to that city, but never considered aliens, at least not the little green men from Mars thing, gotta be something out there with the size of the universe but... [Remy gave a shrug, trailing off on that thought.]

Rather stick to spirits 'nd the likes, they got easy rules to follow to make sure ya don't make them angry, this whole alien thing just leaves me scratchin' m' head.

[Oh now that definitely attracts her attention, mention of spirits. She leans forward eagerly.]

You know about spirits and all that? Like... magic?

[That did seem to be a, heh, magic word, didn't it? Now was just a case of seeing if she knew about them already or was just interested.] What ya got in front of ya cherie is a boy raised with a mix of Catholic 'nd Voodoo, the first didn't stick but 've seen 'nough of the second to know to respect it, 'nd 'ssume there be a lot more out there than at first glance.

Don't practice it m'self, but my tante does, she makes sure we all safe 'nd sound.

[Misty don't mess with Voodoo... To be honest, spirits like Papa Legba scared the crap out of her, especially now, after everything she's been through.]

You know about Marie Laveau then?

[The question is tentative.... 'Course he's heard of her at least, ain't no New Orleans in any universe where folks wouldn't know that name but if Marie was still alive in other places - that's another question entirely.]

Does Cafe Du Monde do the best beignets there ever be? [That was rhetorical as clearly the answer was yes, and if anyone said no they were insane and didn't know any better.]

When I was a teen me 'nd my cousin use to go scare the tourists takin' the cemetary tours when they went to her tomb. 'til my tante beat it out of us for disrespectin' her, though suppose that was for our own good, don't wanna upset 'nything that might be hangin' 'round that place. [Ahh, but it was still good memories, even if they were just stupid boys who had no idea what they were messing with.]

Your tante knows what she's talkin' about. Trust me, you don't go messin' with Marie Laveau.

Ah, wouldn't dream of it now days, but everyone got a time in their life when they were young 'nd foolish, though got a few 'round here that would still say 'm the second one. [Remy shot a grin her way with that before moving onto what brought him here, or at least one of the things.]

I can't believe I forgot Mardi Gras this year, though suppose can give m'self some leeway with bein' from different years. Still, kinda wanna hunt down the 'ngrediants on this station to try 'nd put something half decent together. Maybe a king cake... [He did still have some flour left over from the last planet they stopped at, and had gone shopping for supplies at the station to replace what he had used.]

[She brightens at that.]

You know how to make a king cake? Well ain't it my lucky day! I'd be happy to help you... never made one myself, mind, but I used to help my mama, when I was a kid.

That I do, been makin' them since I was a boy. May have to go for a bit of a hunt to find the right stuff for it, or substitute items for it, but more than happy to have ya lend me a hand, since ya offerin'.

What ship ya stationed on 'nd what their kitchen situation like? [Remy was pretty sure the Wonder Duck had the most up to date versions of the kitchens so they weren't going to do better than that, but that oven was unreliable at the best of times. Hell, maybe the station had a bakery or something similar in the food court areas that they could borrow one of those for a day.]

I'm on the Windrose and I ain't gonna lie, our kitchen's pretty shit. Now that I've got a little money I'm going to help Vision get an upgrade, but apparently they don't do that 'til the end of the month, so for right now we're stuck.

[There was a bit of a pause as Remy turned the name of the ship over in his head, before letting out a 'huh',] That's Natasha's ship. [Remembering the woman's tone as she talked about her ship and the clear attachment there was there.]

'nterestin' femme, seems real capable. [It was said around a sip of his drink, he still sure there was more to that woman than he had seen so far.] 'nd that real nice of ya chere to be offerin' to do that, provided our funds get unfrozen some time soon.

Well it ain't totally selfless, you know. I need the kitchen for my potions and everything.

Oh yeah? [There was a moment that Remy took to consider what she meant by that, the potions. Could be a version of science, maybe an alchemy, which wouldn't be too great a leap to take with the era some of their ship mates were from. Yet she did seem interested in spirits and asked about magic so maybe this was along another lines.] So ya practice... wicca? [It was a bit of a guess, not going too much on the topic and hopefully wouldn't be insulting if he got the term wrong.]

[She snorts.]

Nah, I'm a real witch.

[Was that so? Well better to try and keep on the good side of this all.] Ah, apologizes chere, can't say I know too much of that to give the proper terms, sorry 'bout that.

In fact, donno too much of it at all, bar movies 'nd tv, which gotta guess that don't even scratch the surface of it all.

Aw, don't worry about it. The rules and names are all so weird anyway, dependin' on what universe you're from. Maybe someplace else those Wicca girls are real witches. Not in my world though. They think they know, but they ain't got a clue about what it's really like.

Yeah, got those as well back home, dependin' on the current trends 'nd the like. Gotta 'ssume there be real witches 'nd... warlocks? [Was that the right title for male practitioners?] Out there. Big 'nough world, 'nd if voodoo works I gotta 'ssume that magic or, [A wave of his hand as Remy tried to think up a better term, but coming up with nothing.] Whatever the correct term be, gotta be real also. Just, haven't run 'cross it m'self it seems.

[She turns her focus on his drink, concentrating real hard. The telekinesis comes easier to her when she's angry or scared, but she is getting better. The glass raises in the air and not even a drop of liquid spills... that is until she gets too excited and drops it too quickly.]

Shit, sorry 'bout that. I'll get you another one.

[Sheepish smile.]

Not my best magic, I admit.

[The sudden collapse of the drink bubble only caused a raised brow from Remy, the events before only a smile rather than any negative reaction, and as the spilled liquid threatened to seep over the edge of the table towards his legs he just brushed a palm over it to push it back away.]

That pretty good chere, 'nd for not bein' ya best ya did have some good form there. It be telekinesis or some other manipulation?
