Log 002 | Video + Action - Can't Kick Those Old Habits
Who: Jim Kirk & Anyone
Broadcast: Yes, fleet-wide
Action: On the space station
When: Feb. 14 (or any other day you want to work out for the action)
[ Video ]
Okay, so I think I have the money situation figured out here.
We get money by being popular on this "show" and being "ranked" -
[ Can everyone hear his continued disbelief of this load of crap they are being fed, but fine he's playing along for the time being. ]
But we can also get it on the station by offering to do work. Am I right? Which, by the way, just seems like it's adding insult to injury.
So aside from my making a cardboard sign and tacking it up in the space station, I'll set it out here too - I'm generally good with technology and fixing things in general, so if you ever need anything fixed I'm more than happy to get whatever it is you need running again for a fair price.
And if anyone has a recommendation on someplace to get good, cheap clothes on this station, I'd appreciate it. And real food.
[ He can only live so long between his uniform and the gray jumpsuit and replicated food items. That buffet on the Blue Fish ruined him to early. There are limits. ]
[ Action ]
[ As he said, he made his way down to the space station to see if he can drum up some business and start earning some cash. He hates being a free loader or being put on charity - he just hates being non-useful in general and he's terrible at sitting around and doing nothing. Besides, job hunting might also come with info hunting, so it's two birds with one stone in a sense. So off to find a job and some food that hasn't been replicated. It never tasted the same, no matter how much the product might say otherwise.
One really should not be surprised to see him chatting someone up, male, female, green, tailed, scaled ,or otherwise. It might be equally common for him to be getting slapped, and there's about a 65% chance of catching him in the midst of a bar fight if you find him later in the evening, or leaving in the company of someone. He did mention he had a reputation to keep up, and everyone needed some outlet for dealing with their situation. This was his.
He will try not to look to chagrinned making his way back to the ships come the morning though... ]
[ ooc: feel free to hit him up anywhere on the station as he will literally be going around every inch of it. And by all means, be the one being hit on, or just interrupt his night/morning because he's made poor life choices somewhere along the way! ]

Re: [acition]
[ He follows her, rubbing his shoulder, but otherwise seeming no worse for where though he had taken a few hits. His jaw felt a touch sore, but he didn't think it would bruise, and even if it did, only for a day or so. Khan's blood had some advantages... ]
Not in the mood to hand out detention slips, you mean?
[ He pushed open the door and hurried along, though in the less confined space he would have been fine in a fight. The later half of his recovery had not been sitting around on a therapy couch, after all. ]
[acition]
Re: [acition]
Heh, about time I met someone who enjoys a fight as much as me. Though in this case I am not the one who instigated.
[ He pouted somewhat and rubbed his jaw, but he gave her a reassuring smile. ]
Yeah, I'll be fine. He was way more drunk than I was, so he really only got in that first sucker punch. But thanks for the save. It could have gotten ugly.
[acition]
Re: [acition]
Haha, no, it doesn't. Pike told me I enjoyed it to much sometimes, actually.
[ He laughed and rubbed the back of his head, a touch wistful when he mentioned Pike's name. ]
I was talking to the young lady, and I guess that guy's either her wannabe boyfriend or her brother or something, because he took exception to that.
[acition]
Is Pike an old boss?
Re: [acition]
He's the man who got me into the Academy - convinced me to actually enlist. He... he was a good man, a good captain and a good admiral.
[ Even a year removed it was sometimes hard to talk about Pike, memories of him poking at the hole his absence had left in Kirk's life. ]
[acition]
Re: [acition]
[ He nodded quietly. ]
There was an attack on Star Fleet HQ, and he died during the attack. About a year ago now, actually.
[acition]
Re: [acition]
It's all right. I've accepted it.
[ He laughed and rubbed the back of his head. ]
Haha, sorry, I didn't mean to bring the mood down.
Re: [acition]
Where we going anyway? [Other than away from where they had been. She realizes they don't really have any purpose in their direction.]
Re: [acition]
[ He paused, looking around them before bursting out into a soft laugh. ]
You know, I have no idea? But I'll tell you something - I'm starving. Let's see if we can't find the closest thing we can get to pizza.
[acition]
Re: [acition]
Surely you don't think me the sort of cad to hit on someone else when I'm already in the company of such a lovely lady?
[ He looked at her aghast. ]
[acition]
Re: [acition]
No, of course not.
[ He held out his arm for her. ]
Especially during a pizza date. What sort of excuse for a gentleman does that sort of thing?
[ He almost sniffs. Almost. But he's enjoying this little banter, which may or may not be brought on slightly from his buzz tiny though it may be. ]
[acition]
Re: [acition]
Who said this was a date? Is it wrong of me to want to escort you?
[ He titled his head at her curiously as they set off. After a second he whispers - ]
Maybe I just need a little support to walk.
[acition]
Re: [acition]
A lot more than I thought I would need to get a buzz. And it's not a date. If I said it, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. I'm just hanging out with a friend after a bar fight, eating pizza to soothe the ache in my jaw.
[ There, better Kitty? ]
[acition]
Re: [acition]
[ Date didn't exactly mean the same thing to him as it might to others. He wasn't one for relationships, not romantic ones anyways. He just.. it wasn't something he could do. Dates were casual things for him, a fun time, nothing serious. He had bolted far more than once when things had edged that way before. ]
It's hard to feel bad when you're eating pizza.
[ Flawless plan. ]
Where did you learn to fight like that, by the way?
[acition]
That was nothing. I learned to fight with the X-Men. Logan taught me.
Re: [acition]
Logan... I heard that name recently.
[ But he doesn't jump to thinking he's the same Logan, though he did wonder. It did seem possible for Atroma to pull from the same worlds and universes, after all. ]
What's the X-Men?
