Well, at first I was fell asleep outside because the sun came up and I forgot not to be there. But then Kitty dragged me into the bar and we started talking about ghosts. [ ...And then he fell asleep. It makes perfect sense. ]

You have to keep an eye on the time. If you get caught out in the sunlight, it could go bad for you. You could get robbed, or stolen.

....Stolen?? [ Explain this Strange Danger to him Bigby, because he's never encountered it before. It's always been kill the pig spill his blood when people figure out what he is. ]

Yes, stolen. Kidnapped. Someone could grab you and take you. You'd be a scientific curiosity to a lot of people. They might just enjoy hurting people and you'll heal from it.

There are bastards out there and they will do fucking awful shit to you if they can. And if you're sleeping in public, you're vulnerable.

...Aww, are you worried about me Bibgy? [ Because it's sure as heck sounds like it, and rather than respond with something immediately goofy Sascha asks in a voice that's just a little more level than his usual. ]

[Bigby has no shame in worrying about people who can't look after themselves. Or those who can. He's old and he still remembers the first time he failed to protect.]

Protecting Fables is my duty. From themselves, each other and the outside world. People out there will hurt you. In ways you can't imagine being hurt. Do you get me, Sascha? It's not safe.

[ It's...actually the first time anyone's ever given him this kind of talk. Sure the human family who'd found him had fussed a little, but it's never been anything like this and he's left feeling a bit surprised in the wake of it all. He'd been expecting Bigby to call him an idiot, probably insult him some more after than and then give him some warnings.

Sascha isn't sure what to do in response, other than to nod slowly, suddenly feeling quite a bit foolish. ]

[ He knows what it's like to be hurt better than he'd care to admit, but Bigby probably knows worse. Bigby sounds like he's seen it. And Sascha can't imagine why anyone would want him besides to get rid of him. There's still a lot about the world he needs to learn. ]

[Bigby is glad for Sascha to not know the things the Fables know about the cruelty of the world. Things like his own losses, like Snow's horrors, what Blue witnessed at that final stand.

Sascha doesn't stop to think, which is why Bigby calls him an idiot. This? Is innocence, rather than stupidity. He doesn't get how dangerous it is, because no one has hurt him yet.]

Don't be sorry. Be careful. Keep track of the time and get back to a ship, any ship. The Fleeters mostly seem like a good lot, they won't fuck you up like mundanes will.

Who're they? [ 'Mundanes' isn't a word he immediately associates with human. But at least he seems genuinely curious, if a bit more muted now that he's getting a serious talking to rather thank a serious talking-to. ]

Mundanes? People. Not Fleeters. Not Fables, where I live, but here, it's people who aren't part of the Fleet. Most people, sure, most people are fine. But you can't tell which aren't. And the ones who aren't will do awful things to you.

You can't tell the good from the bad, and some want to hurt people so I should make sure I go to bed properly. [ As in, not in the middle of the street. Or a booth at a closed bar. ]

[It's not meant to sound condescending. He's learned first time this time, which is good. AND he didn't need prompting for the logical jump of 'people can be bad, I should go to bed somewhere safe'.]
