[Aw! It's a little girl in the captain's chair! That's cute. Luke smiles. He toes the door closed behind him and leans back on the nearest bit of free wall space.] Luke Skywalker. It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss...?

Ah. So you're the one they've got listed on that roster as being the official captain. I thought you might be the first to show up. Not to worry. I'm here to relieve you of the position.

Crown Princess Azula. Of the Fire Nation.

Oh, another princess. My sister's a princess, you know. [Not bragging, just light conversation.]

[Still, he thinks he's learned enough of her character in the last few minutes to make a gambit. He stands up straight, and gets that little smirk on his face that some nerds may remember from Jabba's Palace.] Of course, if you're going to relieve me of the position, I think it's fair to want to know that you're more qualified.

[Inwardly she's curious about his apparent unflappability and this "princess sister", but she won't let on. She simply files it away as information to pursue at a later point in time, and for now makes a very convincing show of looking bored.]

Oh? Very well. I suppose I can spare some time to regale you. You must be skeptical because of my age. So many people here are. It's to their detriment, of course. I have extensive experience commanding units both large and small to achieve victory, regardless of prior affiliation or cohesion.

Your age? Oh, no. My sister was one of the youngest people to ever join the Galactic Senate. [In the Star Wars universe, three-year-olds are trained to be child soldiers and fourteen-year-olds are elected queens of planets. Don't question it!]

That's quite impressive! [He says it like he's congratulating her for having won a pokemon card tournament.] What sort of force were you fighting against?

Most recently? [Because it's a long list, yo.]

Some Earth Kingdom and Water Tribe peasants foolishly thought they could invade the Fire Nation capital with the Avatar and their army and assassinate my father.

Make no mistake. I showed them just how wrong they really were. Now their sorry army rots in prison.

[Something seems kind of. Wrong about this. Luke frowns a little, thinking.] When were you elected princess?

[Azula just looks at him blankly for a moment.]

[Before laughing.]

Elected? ... How quaint. As if you could elect someone with the divine right to rule.

Oh, you're from... hm. [He's half disappointed, half sympathetic. Azula clearly has the potential to be an excellent leader, and she's passionate about it, but she's been hampered by some kind of un-democratic legal system. Poor her.]

[Of course, now that they're on the subject, Luke wasn't elected to the position of Captain either, nor did he earn it. And this could be a good opportunity for Azula...]

[Great plan, Luke.] How about this, Azula. We'll have the crew of the Blameless vote on who should be captain.

Vote?

... You're adorable. Very well. You'll lose, of course.

Then I'll lose. [He keeps on smiling.] If I do, I promise to help you run the ship however you need. Voting can be held... hm, how about next shuffle?

Very well.

Don't say I didn't warn you. You should prepare yourself in advance for a crushing defeat and total humiliation.

I don't think I'll be that humiliated, but I appreciate your concern. [There's that sunshiny smile again.] Is there anything else you need, or should I start telling people about the vote?

... Yes. One last thing.

Obviously I didn't call you up here just to engage in meaningless chit-chat. If this vessel is to run smoothly, I need to know everything about the capabilities of my staff.

[Strengths... and weaknesses.]

Alright. I served in the Rebel Alliance and eventually formed and commanded Rogue Squadron. I am a Jedi Knight. [And then his voice gets a bit... cheeky.] What else do you need to know?

I see. So you have some combat experience after all.

What does being a "Jedi" knight entail?

A little. [#humblebrag]

[He considers this question, and for once decides not to show off.] That's a little hard to explain, Azula, but I'll try. Do you believe in fate?

[Well, that was simple.]

But you're welcome to convince me. [She waves a hand.] Go on.

[Luke nods, and opens his hands. One is still gloved; he hasn't had time to repair it. At least it's stopped twitching, though it's lost most of its feeling at this point. He'll fix it on this station he keeps hearing about. Anyway-]

A Jedi is someone who's been trained in the way of the Force. The Force is the living energy of all things, and the easiest metaphor I've found for it is... it's a little bit like fate. Jedi master themselves, and in doing so, gain a better understanding of the Force and its place in the world around them.

[And then he returns to his straight-backed posture from before.]

But that won't mean much if you don't believe in the Force, and I don't want to waste your time.

[Ugh, sounds like Air Nomad stuff.]

Thrilling. [Haha, no. She isn't interested in your mystical mumbo jumbo, Luke.]

Do you actually do anything, aside from contemplate your place in the universe?

[Luke takes a moment to wonder if showing off is really worth it. This girl doesn't seem like she'll be impressed by much anything, and really, should a Jedi Knight be trying to impress little girls?]

[On the other hand, he's a Skywalker.]

[Luke holds out his hand, and the chair nearest to him twists to face him, moving a few inches toward him so he can sit quietly down.] We do many things. It depends on what the Force calls us to do.

[Now that catches her interest.]

... I see. What you did, just now-- it wasn't airbending. The movement was all wrong. How did you do it?

I told you, Azula.

[Time to pull a classic Yoda.]

[Far from being deterred-- Azula loves a challenge as much as she hates looking stupid.]

But surely chair has no energy. Are you saying you manipulate then the energy around the chair?
