Uh-huh. I got lent money so I could go buy them and I wouldn't get headaches anymore. [ By his super-cool sugar daddy. Only not really, because Bigby would punch him if he ever said that. ]

Were you unable to find a job on the station?

[ Though, looking at Sascha, Obi-Wan is pretty sure he doesn't have the strictest work ethic. ]

Nah...I got fired from the butcher's shop. [ For eating the product on shift...in front of people.

Yeah his work ethic needs, ahem, work. ]

Perhaps you can find another way. Maybe even run errands for the people in the Fleet instead?

I guess I could...as long as it wasn't during the daylight, hehe. [ He'll probably just fall asleep if that's the case. But since it's his prime time now he'll move over to sit happily on the edge of Obi's bed, leaning back on his head. ]

What about you? D'you work?

A few odd jobs here and there.

[ The Jedi usually have a lot of disposable income at hand, but since they're away from the order, Obi-Wan has to behave pragmatically. When he does return home, he'll probably give away all his goods and money to charity. ]

I'm not used to staying still or doing nothing for long periods of time. I've always been busy, in some way or the other.

That sounds nice... You must get a lot done around here huh? [ Unlike him who spends most of his evening hours wandering the streets aimlessly. ]

[ He would not agree, but he sees no reason to disagree either. ]

Jedi rarely get holidays or breaks. I'm used to working at a frantic pace. But here, I simply took a job at the bar, for information and other tidbits.

What's a Jedi? [ Hopefully Obi's used to this question by now ]

Someone who serves a higher power. All around us is a mystical field that fuels life, creation, destiny. We call it the Force.

A Jedi is someone who can use and channel the Force at will, for the good of others.

[pneumo]

Is that like having magic or something...? [ Obi, are you a Witch. ]

In a way. Though I do not possess magic, much like how I do not possess the Force. It works through me.

...Warlock? [ Magician!! Soothsayer? Sascha has a lot of bizarre words in his vocabulary. ]

Okay, okay~ So...what do Jedi do, besides magic? [ He kind of doesn't get that first bit with maintaining balance ]

[ He sighs. There's no point correcting that. ]

We help people. Maintain peace and unity in the galaxy. Often, we play the role of negotiators, diplomats and warriors.

[pneumo]

Ohh... Kind of like the police? [ Roughly...he's not sure they negotiate, but still. ]

More like . . . authoritative monks.

...Do you do that here at all, or just the bartender thing? [ Because one of these things is not like the other ]

I cannot stop being a Jedi any more than I can stop breathing.

[ Well. Maybe not the best metaphor but it brings the point across. ]

The bartender thing is just a means to the end. Helping me ferret out information from the locals. After all, we know very little of this galaxy.

Oh...yeah. I don't know anything about any galaxy. [ Come to think of it... ]
