Not over the Clones. There was a split between . . . warring nations. We call it the Clone Wars because they're being fought between clones and machines.

[ Even talking about it is distasteful, though from his tone, it sounds like he's narrating off an article. ]

Most wars tend to be. The reasons matter less and less as it carries on.

If it helps, it's more of a tacked on ranking. I know strategy well enough, but I am a Jedi first and foremost.

Sounds like it could be more of an inconvenience. A military rank usually comes with certain expectations, doesn't it?

That's true enough. A Jedi can fill many roles if the need is great, such as strategy or negotiation. Useful tools for a general. I can't say I favor wartime much.

I imagine it takes the wrong sort of person to enjoy war. There's so much pointless death no matter what the reason for it is.

No. There are never any good reasons.

[ No matter what Anakin might say. ]

Still, the Jedi are duty-bound to help those in need. We cannot abandon people simply because we dislike the tides of war.

[nerdeology]

But which people are you helping? Does each side have Jedi, or are you certain that you're on the right one?

[beardstrokes]

The other side has the Sith. The opposite of the Jedi. The Sith sow destruction, ruin . . . despair. I doubt they care which side wins, so long as everyone loses.

...I see... so you're fighting your natural enemy.

[Not unlike what he's doing with hellions. He can't really judge, in that case.]

The Sith and the Jedi have always been at odds, trying to wipe the other out. The success of their endeavours has been varied.

[ Since neither the Sith or the Jedi will fully die out. ]

Does one have more power than the other, or are you generally equal?

It depends. The Sith have always been two. That being said, those two have amazing abilities. It's hard to say which has more power unless they face off in battle. Sometimes, we lose. Sometimes, it is the Sith.

With dire consequences, apparently.

My apologies, this is a dark train of thought. Is it a relief to be free of that for a while, at least?

It comes to some relief. Though I wonder what state our galaxy is in right now.

[ Especially since the Sith are now left fairly unchecked. ]

I wonder that sometimes, too, though on a much smaller scale, admittedly. It sounds like it would be an overwhelming responsibility, worrying about the entire galaxy.

I try not to do it every day.

You'd probably be exhausted by now if you did.

This place has a decent amount of distractions, at least.

For the most part. I find it odd at times. I was never one to be in the same place for so long.
