Who: Pearl and you!
Broadcast: Text
Action: On the Vanquish or on the planet
When: Now
Just so we're all on the same page, Steven Universe has left.
[and that's that. The optimistic answer is that he gets to go home, but there's still this nagging idea that she had neglected her duty.
Vanquish:
Once there's nothing left to clean, Pearl's going to take apart this engine. Hopefully you weren't about to use the ship and/or shuttle, because it's currently scattered into a million pieces.
Planet, one of the parks:
Looks like Pearl is in a swordfight with a hologram version of herself. The exercise starts off slowly, as they take measured steps around each other and trade blows and parries. As they start speeding up, Pearl starts breaking out of the set pattern. Holo-Pearl matches her blow for blow, until Pearl does a quick spin and skewers her image from behind. The hologram flickers and then disappears, but Pearl doesn't look satisfied. She could use a better opponent.]

once the match is over, there's a soft round of applause from gloved hands.]
You're very skilled.

Thank you. [the small smile doesn't really have a lot of heart behind it, but it's there] I've had plenty of time to practice.
[she pauses to pick up the second sword her hologram dropped when it disintegrated. Leaving something like that on the ground isn't really her thing.]

[now that she isn't in the middle of sparring, addie takes a few steps towards her, maintaining a respectable distance all the same. she looks down at the sword.]
Does it still function after the projection has faded?
no subject
[Pearl holds out the sword to Addie, hilt first so she can take it and inspect it if she wants. It's definitely a lot more solid-looking than the almost translucent projection.]
It's a real sword. I can give it a hologram sword, but they're a bit too fragile for my taste.

It's beautiful. Did you make it yourself?

[She may not give that answer but Remy was going to as... it was the only way to think about it. There wasn't any room for anything else.]

There it is.]

And you never know, he could be with another version of yourself right now, or the other gems, and I know they will keep him safe.

I feel like that almost happened to me recently. I thought I was at home, but apparently I was right here.

You're Pearl, right?

[she can't deny that Steven is fond of making that point]
What's your name?
no subject
[Ha...]
I actually met him in another world before this, but he doesn't remember being there; that's kind of a usual occurrence, I've noticed. Are you doing alright?

[she doesn't even know anymore. Thinking too hard about multiple universes, doubles of people, or how Steven could end up yet somewhere else has the potential to start off a long chain of meta questions and/or an existential crisis.]
I think I am. I've been keeping busy. [she already did her freak out while looking for Steven, but that feeling of being lost hasn't quite gone away yet]

Clay. [there's an open spot next to her if he'd like to sit]
Were you going to make some deliveries? [because uh. That might be delayed.]
no subject
[What's more important is how Pearl's feeling. He keeps navigating the maze of parts until he's at the open spot next to her, where he'll sit by her.]
I saw your message.

[she looks up from meticulously cleaning and oiling each part]
I looked everywhere, and then I finally looked at the ship rosters. [at least she's done freaking out]

though he'd probably do just fine wherever he went.
[ as long as he didn't throw things at people's heads, as he was wont to do with Isaac. ]

He's very upbeat, I'll give him that. He also tends to get into a lot of trouble.
[wow, Steven. That's just rude.]

i was watching a movie. he thought i was being attacked.
[ Steven has a good arm, too! ]
no subject
Really? By a movie?
[unless movies here look different from the ones back on Earth. And wait.] He...tried to save you by throwing a pillow at you?

Do you do that whenever you want to fight?
no subject
Are you talking about training or fighting?
that is the greatest username btw
lmfao, thank you!!
It's useful when I want to get a pattern down or if nobody else wants to train.
[and here's a tiny smile] It's also useful for teaching purposes.
