[As is common with new arrivals, there are a few very confused moments of waking up and scrambling around before the Fleet's newest arrival manages to find and switch off the nearest camera.

About half an hour later and significantly less panicked-looking, he switches it back on. Some quality time spent with his augment answered the pressing questions, like where am I and why aren't there any weapons here, and that he's not going to get an answer to are my friends okay without a little further input from him. So. If they're here, he reasons, they'll recognize him.]

Shouldn't there be more people here? Or do I get to be the only lucky winner this week?

I don't know. It got damaged? Maybe the Atroma figured the fans would rather see it intact for some reason?

Yeah. It's important to me, though. So I'm glad.

Then I'm glad you got to keep it. I would have been wearing something more sentimental if I knew I was about to be dragged here. Or at least something with more layers. [She smiles.] Otherwise, it's just jumpsuits or what you can afford when we're somewhere with stores.

[To be fair, it's all he's been wearing ever since he crashed, but even so Finn nods.]

But there are stores we can buy things, then. So we're close to some civilized sector.

We just spent a month on a space station. Now we're just flying along. I've only been around since the station, so I'm not sure what to expect either.

Busy station? Lots of traffic?

Did it connect to anywhere anyone knew?

Only one I've ever been to, but there was plenty going on. People managed to get temporary work there easily enough and there are were lots of shops and restaurants and people to use them. [She shakes her head.] As far as I know no one in the Fleet recognizes anywhere we go.

We must be pretty far out, then.

[A restaurant might be nice. Maybe they'll find another one somewhere.]

Is it...are things okay here? Do they make us do anything?

[It's a vague question, but then, he'd though the First Order was fine until he actually had his first combat.]

Anything? We can't leave, so there's that. We can't control what kind of recording and broadcasting they're doing of us and who knows how the augments might be affecting us if it's more than the obvious. Other than that I haven't had my hand forced.

[Not ideal, but not as bad as it could have been.]

The augments--so we really don't know what they do besides tell us about this place?

...I know what they do if you try to take them out. Long story short, don't.

...Right. Guessing they don't like that too much.

Nope. You won't either. [The experience was still fresh enough in her memory.] It can make you feel things.

[So can Kylo Ren's powers, and that's enough of a parallel to make him stop being curious about it.]

Still plenty of other things to mess with I'm sure. And you're already used to space so that's an advantage right? At least I'm assuming you are.

I mean, sure, a lot of people do that where I'm from, too. But there's just as many who make a ship their home, or half and half. Travel some and stay in one place some. [He's not actually sure which one he'd like best--just that he wants the one that lets him be with his friends.]

The Earth system? Never heard of it.

[Most of the people from his world she's spoken to seem to have logged a decent amount of time in space. Then again most of them can also use the force. The Atroma have biases that make things seem a little uneven. Not everyone from her world is a superhero either, but it's be hard to know that from the Fleet sample!]

You will. Different versions of it. The Atroma play favorites. [So did the wardens at the prison. Seriously, what's up with that?]

Oh, what you'd need to know about mine wouldn't be the same as what you'd need to know about someone else's. They can change a lot between realities from mutants to vampires to wasteland to thriving. I guess there are always humans.

Lot of places have humans. Mutants I get, but what's a vampire?

Mutants you get, huh? [You're picturing something with two heads aren't you? Okay, not that her kind couldn't have two heads.] A vampire is someone who needs to drink blood to survive. [And who is occasionally a very sweet, easily confused, lonely stalker.]

Sure. Radiation shielding fails, things mutate. Or there are all those old stories about creating mutants with alchemy, but no one can figure out how they did it so it's probably not real.

...Huh. [Not the weirdest thing he's heard of, not by a long shot.] Does synthblood work? Or does it depend on the vampire?

We do have someone here who practices alchemy. [A couple maybe. Greed too?] And I'm pretty sure the fake and animal blood depends on the individual. [Hell, she'd known living and dead vampires for that matter, but she only knew of one in the fleet so far and she doubts he even knows the answer.]

But I'm a mutant. No one created me. No radiation-related accidents.
