[Lily turned to the screen and smiled, she was holding a parchment and glancing down at it before she started speaking.] Hogwarts has a tradition of sorting students when they arrive. They sit an old, worn hat on your head and it reads things about you that you don't even know yourself, your hopes and dreams and ambitions. The Sorting Hat decides where you will go and who will become the family you have there.


[She smiled and looked up again.] Gryffindor, where dwell the brave of heart. Their daring, nerve and chivalry set Gryffindors apart. It's a Gryffindor who is celebrating a birthday today and I would like everyone to join me in doing what James Potter hasn't managed yet, attend the Fleet's first Quidditch themed party on the first Breath, hosted by Cheese Sandwich and myself.


[Lily closed the broadcast and helped Cheese with the last minute details that were necessary for any party. She was saving the taller decorations for Alistair since he had offered to help for cake.]

[She's already planning on making herself available since it is her ship and she is the Captain, but she's unfamiliar with a party atmosphere and, outside of previous conversations with Cheese, isn't really sure what to expect.]

Well, I'll be around then. [Have fun. It's a foreign concept to Furiosa, and even here she hasn't really gone out of her way to find the sort of joy for the sake of joy she thinks Lily is talking about. Racing vehicles, yes, that gets her blood pumping, but it's more a sort of mindless adrenaline rush that she existed in in her own world. Have fun wasn't something she thought she could just ... do.]

I grabbed you some supplies at the station. I wasn't sure quite what you were looking for so I tried to get a variety.

[Not surprising Lily that the Captain had not seen a great many days of joy in her life. She felt it was part of her term on the ship to ensure that there might be more of them. And food, the woman hardly seemed to know food that wasn't what others might kick to the side of the street back home.]

Great! I'm happy to do more with whatever we might have on hand.

[Lily you could chocolate cover a cockroach and that would be an unheard of delicacy to Furiosa. She has been on the ship long enough to become a little spoiled with food available at any time - even with the rations it's generally more than she'd gotten in her world - be it protein paste or canned veg-all.]

[Cheese promises the best party he can give, and he is a pony of his word. The room is full of balloons and streamers, regular party fare, but the rest absolutely follows the Quidditch theme. There are cardboard broomsticks hanging from the ceiling, with Gryffindor colours hanging from the walls.

Whatever foxes Cheese has been able to procure are running around dressed as the various balls in Qudditch, while he himself has stuck little felt wings on his sides to look like a deformed pegasus golden snitch. His rubber chicken on his back has a Gryffindor scarf wrapped around it. He's left the food largely to Lily (because he knows what ponies consider great grub isn't exactly what HUMANS do) but he'll be bouncing around, playing his accordion and smoozing with the people. ]

[Lily clapped her hands gleefully.] Cheese you look wonderful! And look what you've done! This whole place looks marvelous! You truly are a wondrous little pony.

I think it's brilliant! It's absolutely wonderful Cheese. And when James gets here we can sing Happy Birthday to him.

After you and others vouched for him and he had offered to throw me a party after the fact, I felt it was only polite.

But perhaps I've been hasty in judging him, a bit anyway.

[ Lily asked him to help out as a favor to her - and also with a bribe of free cake, and really, what self-respecting young man wouldn't help out someone as nice as Lily? Especially for cake!

So here he is, ready to help with anything that requires a tall, strong sort to do, and also to probably wander around and be glad he's not the center of attention for once, praise Andraste.

[She waved him over and held a small flying broomstick on a string.] Could you just hang this, up there?

[Right, because tall was how she was covering all of it wasn't it?]

There's plenty of food, It doesn't look like we'll have quite the turn out I had hoped. You might have to take some cake back with you.

Oh, you don't need to worry about leftovers with me around, trust me.

[ He gives her a little smile. ]

Where did you get the cake, anyway? I've mostly just seen that icky paste stuff everywhere.

Well I cook often so if you're ever hungry you can just pop over.

[She took the chance to gesture toward a table with a three tier chocolate cake topped with a tiny figure of a trophy cup]

I used most of that for the base, but if you know how to use spices and things you can make due with the basics and get something decent. And I traded a lot on the station for things.

[ Alistair gives her a sheepish grin. ]
