[ The video flickers on to Leto sitting on his bed, kicking his legs briefly. He grins when the video starts recording, pushing himself onto his feet. He tilts his head, that odd bird-like movement he often exhibits. ]

I have heard some interesting things of late, so I thought I'd put the question to you all. When you fall in love, can you only love one person? Can you fall in love with multiple people? Is love something you find yourself stopping after just one?

Do you ever help a girl out or just pose philosophical quandaries where a practical answer would work better? [Is this how we talk to people who make a special trip just to see us?]

I tend to do both at the same time.

Why not the kitchen? It tends to be homely and I can make us some tea.

Well, fine, if you're going to be all cute about it. [Sounding slightly pouty, she heads for the door, giving him a little nod to follow.]

[ He smiles faintly, following. ]

[Once in the kitchen she scoots herself up onto the counter because why sit on a chair or something like a normal person?] So...hi. [She doesn't know what to do with him coming over here to talk now that she has him.]

There's tea stuff in this one. [She reaches over and taps a cabinet.]

[ He hums lightly, pulling it out and getting ready. All of this is automatic for him. He used to do this with Kanda and the routine settles him. ]

Is it so surprising that someone would come to check up on you?

I guess I haven't been feeling like the kind of friend people people would be motivated to check up on lately.

...Just some old stuff coming back around again.

You've always been a good friend.

[ And he says it like a fact. ] But being a good friend shouldn't always be your priority.

[She looks over at him, wondering how much of that is what he sees with his powers and how much is just what he sees of her now, but she doesn't ask. It's nice to hear either way, but hard to accept under the circumstances.] Yeah, well, for awhile it really wasn't my priority and that's what caught up to me again.

Things tend to.

[ He listens to the kettle whistle. ]

But that doesn't mean it should be held against you.

You don't even know what I did.

...Or maybe you do know what I did.

[ He lets that lie. ]

Enlighten me then. What did you do?

I slept with my best friend's enemy...for months. He was pretty forgiving or at least nonjudgmental about it at the time, and I made up reasons for why it was okay. But it wasn't.

There's a version of my friend here. Allen. ...I told him. He said all the things I knew he had a right to say, but never had.

But you told him and you stepped forward. It was not okay, but you acknowledged it and confessed to it.

The past is a part of you, but it doesn't fully define you.

[She nods, knowing that all of that is true even if she wasn't ready to put it so succinctly.] I want to make it right with Allen. Even if he's not really the one I would have hurt. [She got plenty hurt in the process herself.] Not that I have any idea how to do that.

[ He mulls it over. ]

Give it some time and then talk to him again, see how he feels. So long as the attempt is made, you can meet each other half way.

[The looks thoughtful a moment before nodding. That probably is better than her trying to meet him 100% of the way. That's not a health relationship either.] Hey... [Looking up at him again.] That was a practical and helpful answer. [Who are you and what have you done with Leto? Twice in one conversation. She even manages a soft smile for him.]

[ He acknowledges it lightly. ]

I do have a lot of experience in these areas.

In disappointing friends? [You mean something else, right? She doesn't sound like she thinks she nailed the answer.]

[ Bemused. ]

In giving good advice.

Oh, that. [Smiling at him.] Thanks.

[She reaches out to put her hand on his. She's a very tactile person even if she doesn't always give herself the permission to reach out the way she wants.]

[ He blinks. He can never stem the surprise of people initiating physical contact with him. But he manages a soft smile. ]

You're welcome.

[She gives his hand a squeeze before removing it slowly.] I guess we should try some of this tea I've been hearing about.

I find it rather calming.

[ He pours two cups and hands one to her. ]

[She takes it with a soft smile.] Calm sounds good. Do you get uncalm much? [Yes, she's going with "uncalm".]
