Well, when I was sent to Earth, my pod got stuck in the Phantom Zone for about 20 years. I stayed in stasis, as a 13-year-old, in the Zone, while time everywhere else advanced. My baby cousin didn't get stuck and didn't end up being my baby cousin when I finally got to Earth.
