It's a healing potion! Not as strong as I'd like, definitely not as strong as the one for makin' the plants grow, but watch!

[She takes out a little pin out of her pocket, gives the tip of her forefinger a prick, and lets it bleed for a moment before unscrewing the vial and pouring a drop of the potion onto her finger. She holds it out for him to see. The blood vanishes completely and the wound closes up almost immediately afterwards. No sign that it was ever there at all.]

Now it won't work for any real deep wounds or broken bones or anything like that, but it should do just fine for cuts and scrapes.

[Though he winces very slightly when she pricks herself, the Vision is both pleased and impressed by the results.]

Well done, Misty. With luck we won't have to test its upper limits. Does it disinfect as well or is it still recommended to wash out the wound first?

Oh it'll take care of all of that, no problem. I just hope I can make enough. It's hard, without any books and without Cordelia.

I'd recommend writing down what you remember, and tweaking your future experiments until it's perfected. Many great discoveries have been found by accident, so it's important to be able to duplicate the "accident" in the future.

I'll try to do that next time.

[She smiles sheepishly.]

I never did do that well in science class.

[He smiles back, in what he hopes is an encouraging fashion.]

I was of course created by scientists, so it can be difficult to remember not everyone has the same training. I think your work is very good, especially given that none of us are familiar with these plants to begin with.

[It is encouraging and her smile turns brighter. Having someone praise her work is still kind of a new thing for her.]

It may be difficult to find more fish who meet the environmental requirements of these. Few oceans have the same salinity values and chemical composition. This moon certainly does not. I don't object to the idea, however.

Oh yeah I guess that makes sense. Like how the river fish can't live in the swamps and the swamp fish can't live in the ocean.

Yes, very much like that. Though of course we could obtain a smaller tank as well, if there were new varieties we wished to acquire.

What about... rat cages? Not like those horrible wire things they use in labs, but you know, fun shit like wheels and tubes and things. Do you know how to make those?

Well... I've been saving the rats Rhiannon catches, to let them back out somewhere safe, which worked okay on the space station, but I ain't lettin' any animal out onto this planet. So I want to give them a better home while they wait.

[They're not exactly rats, but the Vision nods regardless. It's born of compassion - and anywhere with a spaceport is probably well aware of the dangers of invasive species.]

The supplies to make a habitat are readily available on this moon, even if perhaps intended for other purposes. How large would you like it to be?

As big as I can without gettin' in the way. I don't like the idea of cagin' them up, but it also ain't fair to them or to Snuggles to just have 'em loose in my room.

Ordis was a heavily damaged AI who has only recently been given an organic body. He is adjusting to that as well as the shock of his transfer here. His emotional instability is at least in part due to a--if you're familiar with the effects of a computer virus?
