Masquerade Mingle
[The night has finally come--the Gravity Rush is nearly upon us! What normally serves as a large performance hall has been gutted, emptied of its boring furniture and rigged up into a fantastical mismatch of technology and old culture. No matter where you go tonight, you're encouraged to move around, dance, play games, whatever helps you sleep in late tomorrow morning.
If you aren't one for scurrying around a ballroom all night, there's always plenty of people-watching to do. After all, so many people are wearing extravagant costumes and elaborate masks. How can you even tell who is who? Get lost in a crowd of sequins, chatter with a sun and a moon, or try to beat the guy in the monster-mask at a game of cards. Meet your friends or make some new ones--this masquerade party has begun!]
[[ooc: All sections are up now, have fun! A related ooc post is HERE for any questions or plotting you'd like to do.]]

Wrath
It's not pink. She might be hard to recognize for that reason, and because she's also temporarily dyed her hair black for the occasion. (Her smile totally gives her away, though.)
But she's there for all the dorks like her who don't have dates, and she's having a great time people watching. (She's not really allowed to dance much, herself.) But she can sit in a chair and sway to the music, and still have a high old time.]

It means he can't help but come over to speak with her, flashing her his brightest smile (though it hardly comes close to the sparkle of her dress). ]
I have to ask or I won't be able to sleep tonight - is your dress made of metal?
[ Good opening line? Maybe. He hopes so. If he doesn't get slapped he'll count it a victory to be honest. ]

no subject
Extremely so, though I suspect that has as much to do with the material as it does the lady wearing it.
no subject
You decided to go with understated, huh? [He's not all sparkly or anything.]
no subject
I don't think I can pull of sparkles as well as you. Besides, I think this outfit brings out my eyes.
[ He winked at her with said baby blues. ]
Would you like to dance, Miss-?
no subject
[Aw, he's cute.]
My name's Wrath.
I... would like to dance, but I can't really dance much because my back's really fucked up.
no subject
Well, just because of that doesn't mean we can't find some other way for you to dance.
[ He looked to her and smiled encouragingly. ]
Can you stand for a bit? We don't have to do something complicated. I think I can still pull off the old prom dance style. And we can stay right here so when you need to you can sit right back down.

He'll be sitting just a little bit away from her, watching the people dancing with extremely keen eyes. It's obvious he wants to do that too, but alas. No date :c ]

Look at you, you're so cute!

Ehehe~~ You really think so?

Not dancing?
no subject
Winter! Wow, you look really hot! [Well, he does.]
I'm not really supposed to be like... jumping around or anything. [Sigh.] Which sucks. I really like dancing.
no subject
[ Boy, just sitting here has to be killing her. She's normally exuberant. ]
What about a slow dance?
no subject
Thanks!
[It really is killing her.
Wait... is he offering? She's not sure. But...]
I think I could. Um. Do you want to?
no subject
Mostly, he's giving her a solution to her problem. His brow furrows briefly, eyes flicking between Wrath and the dance floor. If she looks careful enough, she can see him give the barest hint of a nod.
You do things for friends when they feel poorly. He holds out his metal hand to help her up. ]
no subject
And she is watching him keenly, because talking with Winter isn't so different from talking with Maine. He says plenty, just not verbally.
She takes his hand, and lets him help her. It's okay, she tells herself. And it makes her feel really good that Winter's doing this, because it's probably not an easy thing for him.]
Thank you
no subject
Even if all these people put him on edge. This isn't for him.
He offers Wrath a nod in reply, leading her to the dance floor. ]
no subject
(Her massive crush on Winter helps too, but she's just keeping that under her hat because she's not a total moron.)
She has to lean on him a bit, or rather on his arm, and she's got a good hold there. But when it comes to actual dancing, rather than put her hand on his back, she takes a grip on the side of his jacket. Maine didn't ever like people touching his back because it set him off, and she understands why, since it's such a vulnerable point. It's an automatic move for her now.]
Okay?
