[The night has finally come--the Gravity Rush is nearly upon us! What normally serves as a large performance hall has been gutted, emptied of its boring furniture and rigged up into a fantastical mismatch of technology and old culture. No matter where you go tonight, you're encouraged to move around, dance, play games, whatever helps you sleep in late tomorrow morning.

If you aren't one for scurrying around a ballroom all night, there's always plenty of people-watching to do. After all, so many people are wearing extravagant costumes and elaborate masks. How can you even tell who is who? Get lost in a crowd of sequins, chatter with a sun and a moon, or try to beat the guy in the monster-mask at a game of cards. Meet your friends or make some new ones--this masquerade party has begun!]

[Loki arrives escorting Rogue, but the thing he enjoys most of all is dancing, and he knows his lady doesn't care so much for crowds. He makes certain to have a dance or two with her, and checks back on her often so she isn't left feeling unattended, but otherwise he's moving across the floor, picking people from the crowd and taking them out for a whirl.

And as much as Loki loves dancing is reflected on how very, very good he is with it. He cheerfully compensates for an inexperienced partner's lack of skill, simplifies steps so that he can lead and teach and make the experience fun for both--since this is one time where if the other person isn't having a good time, he won't be either.

So don't be surprised if a very tall, rather sinisterly-dressed person, his face completely obscured by a mask, catches up your hand (his nails are lacquered poison green) to pull you out onto the floor.]

<sub>[ The "dragon" was hard to miss in the crowd - the mask was alluring and one of the more complicated in terms of construction he had seen that evening. Whomever was behind that mask was certainly a skilled dancer too, and Kirk found himself feeling a touch inadequate watching him command the floor.

He is surprised when the dragon comes to him, noting that flash of bright green on his nails and for some reason that makes him smile. He laughs as he is tugged to the floor. ]</sub>

It is a dance, and this is what one does at dances. [Amusing. He's dancing with nearly everyone, limited only by time. Dancing for the sake of dancing.]

[ Hopefully then he won't be too disappointed when one of the people he picks up in a whirlwind-like flourish is Sascha, who instead of donning a mask to this event...has allowed some of the locals to put face paint onto him in its stead. ]

H--hi?? [ Where are you dragging him mister, he hasn't seen you in forever. ]

It is a dance. What else would one do?

[He's amused. He's also firmly in the lead, since he has a feeling Sascha's not the most competent dancer in the world. So he'll keep it rather simple, but still fun.]

[ He would absolutely right in that assumption. Sascha doesn't know how to lead yet, and even when following his steps are a little uncertain and he looks down more than once to make sure he isn't stepping on any feet. ]

B, but I'm not very good yet....

You needn't be. Follow where I lead and you shall learn.

[Definitely going to keep it simple, but he can teach well when he wants to.]

[ He's grateful for the easy pace at least, swallowing a little and trying to follow along as best he can, albeit a tad stiffly. ]

Trust that my feet have borne far worse outrages than you could hope to give them. [He survived being taught to dance with Sif and Thor.]

[ Those would be some pretty powerful feet, it's true. ]

Oh...well, in that case. [ Kidding, kidding. He's still going to try to avoid that, even if he'll also be trying not to be so tense. He'll achieve mixed results. ]

[ Ino is surprised, but not because she's being pulled out to dance. After all, that's what this event is for, right?

No, she's surprised because that getup reminds her very much of someone she knew a long time ago -- but the fact that he's at a party at all makes her come to her senses rather quickly, a little amused smile on her face. Her mask and dress are quite the opposite of his ... she's sure they must look a little funny to the rest of the crowd. ]

I could say the same for yours. The fearsome versus the lovely, yes?

[It's a quick dance that he's grabbed her for. She looked spry, in his estimation.]

[ Her smile grows a little wider, into something more like a grin. ]

Something like that. Does that mean you're terrifying under the mask, too?

[ She is indeed very spry; she's keeping up pretty well. ]

[Oh, this puts him in an even better mood. Someone who isn't stiff and awkward is a pleasure to dance with. Random chance and a glance at a pretty dress led him well.]

Masks are meant to disguise what lies behind them, lady. So I must be a milk-faced youth who could not scare a bird from a fence. That's why I need such a large mask. [Well, smart people find him terrifying. There aren't very many smart people around, though.]

[ There's a little bit of a pout, now. ]

I never did understand why boys always feel like they have to compensate.
