[The night has finally come--the Gravity Rush is nearly upon us! What normally serves as a large performance hall has been gutted, emptied of its boring furniture and rigged up into a fantastical mismatch of technology and old culture. No matter where you go tonight, you're encouraged to move around, dance, play games, whatever helps you sleep in late tomorrow morning.

If you aren't one for scurrying around a ballroom all night, there's always plenty of people-watching to do. After all, so many people are wearing extravagant costumes and elaborate masks. How can you even tell who is who? Get lost in a crowd of sequins, chatter with a sun and a moon, or try to beat the guy in the monster-mask at a game of cards. Meet your friends or make some new ones--this masquerade party has begun!]

[To no one's surprise but his own, Finn cuts a striking figure in his costume - a black Hussar-style military uniform and a simple red domino mask. He arrives with Poe in a matching red uniform/black mask combo, and though he hangs out with his friend whenever he's not busy he's also not shy about approaching others - mostly to engage in conversation, because he's never danced before, but if anyone wants to take him to the floor he won't refuse. Judging by his grin, he's enjoying it here at the party.]

[Ahsoka wanders over to him almost as soon as she spots him.]

Hey! I see someone's looking dashing.

Hey! Ahsoka! [Her costume is good but it's not exactly a disguise. Neither is his, though, so he's not surprised when people recognize him.]

Do you like it? I guess it's a historical kind of uniform. You look good too! Are you having a good time?

[passingthrough]

Hey. Haven't seen you since you arrived. [Kitty is also more dressed up than she was that day. She picked a mask that wouldn't obscure her identity too much.] How's it going?

[Finn grins when he sees her and heads a little closer to check out the mask. Everyone has such great outfits on tonight.] Kitty, right? How's it going?

That's me. [She smiles at him.] There are a lot of new faces and names to take in that first couple of days. [For awhile really, but they come slower.] I'm good. You know, dancing. What about you?

[forcesensitive]

[He rubs the back of his neck, a little abashed.] Yeah, but everyone was real nice. You know how to make a guy feel a little less lonely, even when he's stuck on a ship by himself.

Never been to anything like this myself, and everybody seemed excited about it so I figured I'd come. There's a lot of people here, but it's kind of fun anyway.

We're like a regular welcoming committee.

You say that in a way that sounds like you don't like people. [Which is not a vibe she got from him at all so she's really just teasing his word choice.]

It's not that! [He says it quickly and then drops his voice.] I'm just not used to it, that's all. Not--well, not when they're not all standing at attention and listening to someone give a speech, if you take my meaning.

[Given the way his chosen outfit screams military, it shouldn't be too hard to infer.]

Military thing? This should be more fun than that. Not that I've ever been in the military or know much about it outside of movies and books.

It's a lot more fun! Just, you know, different.

--Also, I'm not really sure how to dance, but it doesn't look that hard.

[So Misty has this habit of seeming to pop out of nowhere, surprising even the most alert of people. That's what she does now, appearing at Finn's side with a smile almost as big as his on her face.

She can't say she's exactly one for a man in uniform, but hey, this one's real nice lookin' and besides - he's got those same vibes as Obi-Wan and Leia. Not as focused, maybe, but they're there.]

You're a Jedi, ain't you?

[Finn jumps a bit when she talks - his senses are on a bit of overload in this crowd, but after a very quick assessment he realizes she's not threatening him.

He has no idea what might have prompted her Jedi comment, though. Maybe she saw him talking to the Jedi around the dance? Cause he's certainly been doing that.]

Huh? Oh, no, they're just my friends. I'm Finn.

[mistyday]

You sure you ain't a Jedi?

[She gestures towards his whole being with one hand.]

'Cause you sure got that glow about you.

[Glow? Finn quickly looks down at himself, but he isn't glowing in any way he can see.]

Maybe it rubs off when you hang out with them. And General Kenobi's been teaching me how to use a lightsaber, but that's different.

If you say so.

[She's not convinced - she's never been wrong about this sort of thing yet. But she shrugs anyway. Ain't worth arguin' over, especially at a party.]

My name's Misty.

[forcesensitive]

Finn. [Which he said before, but he doesn't seem to realize he's repeating himself.] Good to meet you, Misty.

So you know the Jedi?

[mistyday]

Just Obi-Wan and Leia. I'm not from y'all's world or nothin', I just got a sense for these kinds of things.

[ino]

[ Ino's just wandering about looking for people she knows, but she does pause when she sees Finn, despite not really knowing him all that well. Of course, the mask is supposed to conceal their identities in some way, but his build and lower face look familiar.

So she saunters on over, covered in a ridiculous amount of fake flowers. ]

... Finn, right?

[There are a lot of great outfits here, but even so Finn looks impressed at that dress.]

Yeah, it's me! [He squints for a brief moment.] Ino, was it? You're looking good.

[ino]

That's me! [ She smiles. ] You're looking pretty handsome, yourself! Are you having fun?

Thanks!

I think so. All these costumes are really something else, you know? But I've never been to anything like this before, so it's a little weird.

[ino]

Never? It seems like there's a lot of people who haven't, though ...

[ Not that she would have had much experience either, had she not attended years worth of frivolous Paradisa parties, but ... ]

Well, how about your ship? Are you settling in alright?

[forcesensitive]

Nah. Never had the chance. I bet they have them for special occasions, though.

[Mention of his ship gets a smile.]

Yeah! I got on the Caprine, it's pretty nice. And I been visiting the Golden, where Poe lives. [He gestures to his sort-of-nearby friend, recognizable for wearing the same style of jacket in red rather than black.]

[ino]

Oh, the Caprine, huh ... ? So you met Jojo, then ...

[ She tries not to let that one get her down -- he'd wanted to go home so badly. Still, her amiable expression does waver just a bit. ]

Poe? Is that a friend of yours?
