[The broadcast shows Cole's face, too close to the camera, tear streaked and eyes red rimmed and looking the very model of misery and distress. His voice is a cracked whisper.]

[A demon? Her eyes widen. Beverly is quickly beginning to see that this is an issue far beyond her realm of knowledge. If she wants to help Cole, she's going to have to get help herself. But first, she needs more information...and hopefully she can calm him down some at least until someone else can come. And not just for his sake either - if he's already tried to kill someone...]

Are they all right? Do they need medical attention?

I didn't hurt him. I didn't. Not at all. He wanted me to hurt him, but I don't hurt. I kill, but I don't hurt people and he wanted to suffer more than he wanted to die and I couldn't do that.

[She sighs, relieved that no one is hurt. Not yet at least.]

[Relief washes through her. She trusts Riona and after all, Riona is from Cole's world, so she knows far more than Beverly could ever hope to.]

[She nods. Normally it'd take more than that for her to give in, but she knows Riona is on her way. He won't be left alone, not really, and she's worried she'll only upset him further.]

I won't do anything without talking to Riona.

[Dutifully intoned, but he means it.]
