[ last time he posted anything, he was a nervous wreck and kind of nauseous. the changes the past two months have left in him are impossible to miss; winn is smiling, upbeat, and almost comfortable. the nervous energy that is there has more to do with his addressing a bunch of strangers than the constant fear of death by space-stuff that overshadowed his first feed. ]

Hi, if we don't know each other - I'm Winn Schott. If we do know each other...I'm still Winn Schott - [ shaking his head, why hasn't he learned from the last time? prepare a script! ]

Anyway! I've been here for a couple months now, and it's been interesting - and I mean that in the original sense of the word. Think about it - not only are we in outer space [ there's only a slight wince at that, and even a lot of excitement. space is terrifying - but it's also really cool ] - but we have a once in a lifetime opportunity to reach across the multiverse and learn things that haven't even been dreamed up in our worlds yet. I've been learning - a ton from just casually talking to people, but there is a much better way to do this if we all cooperate, [ open source. it's the way of the future! ] and I know I'm not the only one out there who's interested!

So, I've got a suggestion for anyone who thinks that's really cool - and - pity for anyone who doesn't [ and by pity, he means judgment. he gestures excitedly with his hands as he introduces his brilliant concept ] - 2016: A Space-Time Odyssey - a series of free weekly lectures about anything and everything we've got here. Talks about different worlds, science, history, art lessons, concerts - I know we've got some musicians here - basically anything anyone signs up to talk about, teach, perform, or however you communicate things where you're from. Since we don't have a lecture hall we can broadcast the talks - give ourselves a fun routine....and if that doesn't work for someone, I can post the notes I'm so gonna take of all of these. Who's in? Who wants to go first?

The yeaaaarrr.... Uhh.... [ Oh man, dang. he totally hadn't paid attention to any of that before he'd arrive on the Fleet. He'd never needed to, seeing as he was technically "undead" and living forever. And you know, the whole "being hated by humans" thing. Not a lot of time to check a calendar. ]

Nineteen....eight....twenty-something? No wait, seventeen forty-fifty six? Uh...

It's good to meet you, Sascha. Do you know where you're from, beyond 'earth'? I'm from National City, USA.

Well...I like to think I'm from Latvia! But that's probably not true. I did wake up in Europe though.

'Wake up'?

[ No...not unless naps tend to leave you naked in the middle of the woods and covered in blood that isn't your own. ]

Yeah! The first time, not like going to bed and stuff after.

Like...I dunno. There's nothing before that, it was just the first time I ever woke up in my whole life.

[ winn frowns, trying to understand. he feels like he's missing something very basic here. ]

You mean like...all your memories from before have been wiped?

If you mean they're gone...then yeah! [ The basic of the basics: Sascha in a nutshell. ]

Was that your world or another place like this? Were you the only one missing memories?

[ because missing memories seem to be fairly common in kidnappy-dimensions. ]

Did you find out anything about what happened?

Oh, um....yeah, I know why it happened. It was just regular back home though, no space TV shows or anything.

Complete memory-wipe is normal?

[ what kind of messed up world are you from? ]

[ The one where you die for a little bit, suffer brain damage due to a lack of oxygen, and then come back to life!! Totally normal, that. ]

Sssome...times? In certain situations, haha...

his curiosity is just going to drive him crazy now, but he can tell they're touching on a sensitive subject here - he's had enough conversations with people on the fleet with terrible histories to know that 'sensitive' is a polite word for 'terrible', and he doesn't really want to be the guy poking and prodding at people's pasts. he wouldn't want it done to him, even if talking about his dad has gotten a lot easier. he still only told kitty about it. ]

Ok. So - after you woke up - somewhere in Europe - there were a lot of polluting factories there? What else?

[ It's the same sort of casual respect of an uncomfortable subject that Kitty and Bigby tend to give him. Sascha's still not used to it and it still catches him off-guard, even now. He'd expected more questions and more probing which, while he wouldn't necessarily ask Winn to stop? Would definitely be unpleasant for him.

Well, not a lot at first. Most of them came later. The village I was taken to didn't have aaanything like that.

Was it...nice? The village?

[ he so hopes it is. it's exhausting and depressing how hurt the people of the fleet have been. he's no hero, but he does get some super protective instincts at all these heart wrenching stories. ]

Uh-huh. It was really nice. [ ...Until the decided to lynch him for being a vampire, only for the real culprits to their issue deciding to finish off most of them. ]

[ a super nerd, maybe. super helpless, is what he feels like. ]

Yeah? [ that cheers him up, it's a good thing he's not a mind reader. ]

What was it like? Who took you there?

The village guy that found me~ [ His name was Abe, and he had a wonderful wife and they were super-kind to him when they were alive. ] He helped me up and gave me a place to stay--and it was super nice! Cold 'cause it was winter and stuff, but everyone was smiling and they always had warm fires going.

Sounds like a great place.

[ he'd have liked for a nice village guy to find him after his dad went to jail and his mom bailed. of course, with his luck, that would have involved pitchforks too. nobody likes the son of a murderer. ]

Did he give you your name?

[ Funny, that. ]

...Yeah! How'd you guess?? [ No one else has, oddly. He's actually never had anyone make the connection before, so he's rather surprised someone's actually done it. ]

Well, he's the person who found you -

[ he took an intuitive leap. a name is one of the first things people tend to look for in strangers, it's a way to un-strange them. ]

he'd need something to call you.

....Oh. Yeah. [ Well that just simplifies things in a way that make him feel a little silly and underwhelmed, but he tries not to look it too much. ]

Yeah, he named me after a friend of his!
