It does seem kind of impolite not to drop by and see all my first friends while I'm here. [She gets so eager to see him and it's hard enough to leave already that she doesn't like delaying it further once she decides to go. It's full-on ridiculousness.]

But I doubt he'd like hearing I was hanging out with Kirk.

He'd get over it, I'm sure.

He might not even comment on it, but he'd have that face. [Poor little kissable face.]

He's so sweet. I don't even know where he finds time to think up the things he does for people let alone get them done.

I know. It's pretty great. I guess this is what we get without video game consoles.

It's hard to picture Winn angry. [But she also understands now that he has been and he's been keeping it inside because of his fears surrounding his father.] He did mention you guys had some weirdness.

So you guys didn't talk about it?

It wasn't "about you", per se. It was about the fact that I told you stuff about Winn without talking to him first. I think he was embarrassed? And then I realized I put you in a weird position...

We talked about it, but I didn't ask for specifics and he didn't volunteer them. I figured, you know, best friends have their own things going on. [She didn't want to intrude when she could support without it. If she'd known she was part of the topic she would have though.]

I wasn't mad.

Okay. Okay, good. Sorry. One of these days I'll learn how to stop myself from saying things I shouldn't, but I just get so nervous... Sooo yeah. Good. I'm glad. That we're okay, I mean. Except we were never not okay I was just being weird and I really don't like having conflict with Winn, especially when I didn't even really get what the issue was, though I do now. Don't worry about that.

You sound a little nervous, Kara. [Lots of talking. At least that's a tell of Winn's.]

More... relieved I think. But probably also nervous. Nervous energy coming out. You know.

I guess it just brought up a lot for me. Like it did for him, and you, but all in different ways.

That probably kind of sucked for you, huh? You needed your support system and we were full of our own trauma.

It made me really miss Alex. We both have our own issues but she's always been there for me when something happens, either to let me steal her ice cream or to kick my butt out of bed. It's not that I want people to just take my side whenever something comes up, but I'm always going to want someone in my corner. And it kind of felt like... I mean, everyone had their own reasons, and I definitely made mistakes. Winn is my best friend, and there have been times where he can't even look at me, he's so upset. And I've felt a strong kinship with you, but I wouldn't want to do anything to put you in a position of conflict between us. So it's just hard.

Thanks, but I think at the point people are taking sides against each other you can just guarantee it's going badly whether you have someone on it or not. [She would have wanted to mediate an understanding, not just support one at the detriment of the other if she had been in the middle.]

I don't think either of you like being at odds. [And wow does she ever not like the idea of Winn not being able to even look at her.]

I really don't. Strangely, fighting isn't all that natural to me. My mother was a judge, and Kryptonian society was one of negotiation. I want to try to figure things out, and make things right. And I'm definitely not above admitting my mistakes. [ when she's sure she's made them... ]

I'm sure he doesn't like it either. You mean everything to him at home. [Is that strange phrasing? She just didn't want to count herself out here. It's not that Kara doesn't still mean a ton to him.]

I'm good. We're good. I think. At least we are and have been from my perspective? I wouldn't be surprised if you were wishing you could go back to non-super hearing by now.
