I'd probably think so too if I'd come here directly after home. The last place had all kinds of fresh food all the time. It was amazing. None of it was real, but it tasted real. Felt real. I miss the food.

Did you have to cook it? I don't really get cooking.

I think the food here is really good. I mean, I liked it when Maine would go get noodles for us or something, but it wasn't a big deal.

There were actually robots who could cook for us, but yeah, I did sometimes. There were also a few inmates who wanted to be chefs. But hey, if you think it's good that's...great. [Weird and confusing and she thinks it might have something to do with the holes in your head if she's very honest.]

I don't know. Like after eating nothing but ration packs all my life, I don't know. Fancy shit is weird. I just mostly ate ration bars after I got turfed because I didn't know what else to do.

It got kind of routine after awhile, but I was impressed with the technology there. You were in the military a long time, weren't you?

Twenty-five years.

[She hates that question sometimes, but being upset at Kitty would be unfair. It's not her fault. So she just shrugs.]

The first thing I remember is the battle where the previous lieutenant of Wrath Platoon died.

Did they do something to you that day?

It was a battle. We took out a heavy gun emplacement that belonged to Nodis. Before the plague. I was in Envy Platoon. Wrath Platoon got hit hard. Lieutenant took a shell direct. I got field promoted.

[Is that what Kitty was asking?]

[Not exactly.] But nothing that would explain the memory loss?

[Shrug.]

I don't know? I guess Charles thinks it was Compliance? That was later. I guess.

[Kitty can handle it, but she nods.] Makes sense. [No reason it had to be that day. If they can wipe memories they can wipe them anytime. Probably makes for more focused, obedient soldiers?] I'm sorry. [Not for asking though she probably should be, but for the loss. She's not sure if the missing time hurts Wrath or not since she doesn't know what she's missing, but she doesn't think she'd handle the holes well herself.]

[What else can she say. She doesn't really know what she's missing. She was content until she'd been turfed out, and then everything was ducked up and nothing makes sense any more.]
