MARGAERY TYRELL 🌹 OTA
[ days turns to weeks and moon cycles pass and margaery doesn't budge, doesn't show a change of attitude despite the constant pull at her heart. there isn't a day that passes without thoughts of her kin, of loras and her lord father and her grandma.
admitting to anything of the sort would be a weakness and at the first sign of weakness, she knows, they will lunge at her like crows to a decaying corpse. 'they' could be anything from those who do not favor her on the fleet, to the atroma. her ratings are high, she knows but her downfall will produce a great interest as well.
this is a game, quite unlike the one she knows but one whose rules are clear enough.
it's a second nature, the game but it's constantly changing. the moon is behind them and ahead - well, who knows really? she thinks of the entire matter for a day or two before deciding that a small level of vulnerability is necessary, no audience would believe anything less, not after so long. it will have to be measured, enough to stir sympathy and love but not in a may that will have others think her as weak.
so the door to her chambers will be open, as it sometimes is, to welcome visitors and the picture inside would be a pretty one. a young girl of six-and-ten in the pale greens of her house, working with careful fingers on her of embroidery and a song on her lips.
Gentle Mother, font of mercy,
save our sons from war, we pray,
stay the swords and stay the arrows,
let them know a better day. ]

Good-day, Winn.
no subject
[ he still stays by the door, in case she shows any hint of wanting privacy after all. ]
That your family's coat of arms?
no subject
[ she gestures for him to come and see it, the careful embroidery work that her grandmother would roll her eyes at and say oh don't be a silly thing, it's all roses all the time, do something different, something bolder.
margaery does miss her, she misses her advice each day. ]
I told you about it, didn't I? green and gold. Growing Stronger.
no subject
[ he smiles and comes in closer, taking in the details of her work. ]
You did. It's really beautiful. I - I'm kinda shaming my teacher here with this now I realize, but I made you a little something with the threads you got me -
[ bringing the hand that was hidden behind his back forward, he presents her with an embroidery of his own - that spells out 'this queen saves herself' in dark green on a field of bright green, with flowers curled around the words. it's not nearly as elaborate or flawless as her work, but it's neat and pleasing to the eye. ] Kara - told me what to write.
no subject
[ she takes it and smiles, a chuckle falling from her lips ]
It's beautiful. The lines are lovely and my favorite colors, too.
[ she holds it close to her. ]
I shall keep it with me for as long as I am here, thank you, how thoughtful of you to think of me.
no subject
[ he smiles happy to see she seems pleased with it. ]
You're welcome, it's the least I could do. [ and he feels like it's very literal. he wishes he could do more for her. ]
no subject
[ she traces the lines of his work ]
How fortunate I am, to have someone who cares for me so, even here, so far from home.
no subject
[ is he rambling again? he is, isn't he. ]
I'm pretty sure you'd find people to care for you anywhere, Margaery, you're a great person.
no subject
[ she places his work next to her, takes her own and lays it on her knees ]
It is kind of you to say.
[ there is a healthy amount of doubt there. not that she, herself, is great but that care shall be easy to find. ]
no subject
[ he frowns in concern, leaning in closer. doubt isn't something he sees every day from margaery, but when she told him of her fiance he realized that much like him - she tends to keep a lot in. his voice turns softer. ]
Hey -- what is it? You can talk to me.
no subject
[ she frowns, looks down at her work ]
It was simply very difficult to come to grasp that they found care to be foreign. Our realm has been at war for far too long, I think we have all been victims of it.

Re: MARGAERY TYRELL 🌹 OTA
She, after all, has a lovely smile that should be encouraged as often as possible, he thinks. So today, he brings her a rose he made out of brightly colored paper, poking it around the door with it's green paper stem.]
Is the Lady of the Gardens at home?
no subject
[ airily, there is already a hint of laughter in her voice. she knows who it is without even raising her eyes from the needlework. she place the embrodiery aside ]
Her door is open.
[ and she would rise to meet him, silks rustling against her ankles as she'll bow ]
And I thought this day would be entirely dull, how mistaken I was.
[ noticing the flower, she brightens up ]
What is this? is it a token of your apology for not having come to visit me in days and days?
no subject
[He pokes his own head around the corner now, his smile crooked but warm.]
Then the visitor shall come in.
[He bows in turn, before offering the flower out once more.]
Never fear, the potion against boredom has arrived, in concentrated form.
[He bows once more.]
I have built an apology into every petal, Margaery, in hopes you shall forgive this poor, lost soul.
no subject
[ she takes it between slender fingers, smiling all the while ]
Presented with such a gift, I can do nothing but forgive you entirely. How clever, to know the way to appease me.
[ she gestures to a chair ]
Shall you sit with me?
no subject
[He smiles in turn, before touching one hand to his chest.]
Cleverness is luckily, not something I lack.
[Another bow, before he sidles over to climb into the chair.]
As the lady requests, I shall obey.
no subject
[ far too sweet and unnatural, she doesn't know what to make of it. ]
Tell me something interesting, any tale would do. How are you fairing?
no subject
[He hummed for a moment, considering all that he had seen and done in the last few days.]
I have met a man who has doppleganger here - except she is a woman. So there is now a Male Hawke and a Female Hawke, and while they are different they are also the same. It's unnerving.
no subject
[ she pours water into two glasses, giving him a bit of a scolding look ]
Am I known to be prickly? I cannot imaging you ever saying anything that I would consider untoward.
[ taking a seat again, she tilts her head. ]
They are like twins of a sort, yes? quite the same but not entirely?
no subject
[He nods his thanks, taking his water and sipping. He swallows, and nods.]
Very much like, except they are apparently the same person, except not. She is a warrior, and he some sort of ...mage. They are both outspoken, humorous, and just a little - I would say insane? Yes, insane.
no subject
[ though now, she is likely to try and speak to them as well, if only for how curious she is. ]
With so many lovely people already aboard the fleet?
no subject
[His lips twitch up.]
Now it simply applies to outer space.
Your company, however, is always preferred.
no subject
[ it's a playful indulgence more than anything else, she stretches to grab at the little paper flower, places it in her hair as she would a real one ]
