Considering how kings keep dropping like flies? I would hardly agree.

Okay, but why proclaim yourself one with the odds against you unless the results justified the risk, right?

I find the only people who are willing to throw out such words are the ones with armies -- but if I have learned anything? Having an army does not make you king.

No. General at best. But I'm curious, what do you think makes a good King or Queen. [Let's not forget the ladies. You are working for one.]

What makes a good Queen, or what should make a good King, is someone who will recognize the needs of the people over the needs of themselves. Who will put aside petty power plays to protect them from the dangers of the Wall, who will see them fed and their lands at peace, so we can be prepared for the colder days to come.

How much of this did you think before you met her and how much did you decide based on how she acted?

[tallasaking]

This was well before I met her -- just comparing my sister to any Queen in history ... mostly to Lady Caetlyn Stark, however. Grace and gravity. Looking out for the people, and her own children. [He sighed quietly.] Dany is a brilliant Queen, make no mistake, but she has a long way to go before she is ideal. [His mouth twisted.] Of course, I have a long way to go before I am an ideal advisor, but here we are.

I don't know if anyone ever actually fits an ideal. That's a lot to hope for. Good to know you're both on your way though. You'll be advisor to the fleet in no time.

[tallasaking]

By the Seven's tits, can you imagine me as the advisor for the entire fleet? Robb Stark's head would explode. [He smirked a little at the thought.] As would Theon Greyjoy's -- that is enough to make me want to try.

I thought you kind of liked Robb or respected him at least. [Or maybe that's her.] And what's his deal anyway? Greyjoy's. Does he like having everyone hate him?

[tallasaking]

I respect Robb Stark - he stood up as a man when most would have buried their faces in their mother's skirts. I like less his inability to see past the nose on his face - too much of his father there. [A pause, then a sigh.] He thinks himself a Prince, and an exiled one at that. Every action he has taken to become one has been one of betrayal and blood, and his act is to distance himself from the shame and the guilt.

[She knows nothing of Robb's father, but she did feel like he was having trouble expanding his mind and world to include all the differences of the fleet.]

Is Theon an exiled prince?

[tallasaking]

Of a kind. He is the eldest son of the Lord of the Squid People - or what we like to call the Iron Islands. [He shook his head.] Rabble, rebellious sailors whom Ned Stark crushed during the Civil War, some fifteen years past. Theon's always held some sort of ...delusion of what he is.

Woah, woah, woah. Back up. The squid people? Does he have tentacles in there or something?

[tallasaking]

[Now that made him laugh.] No no ... their House Shield has a squid upon it.

Disappointing. [Looking amused.] Okay, so how did he end up with the Starks?

[tallasaking]

When Ned Stark defeated Theon's father, Theon was sent as a squire to House Stark. It is the mark of all Great Houses - I have your son and I'll kill him if he steps out of line. [A shrug.] A savage practice, but an efficient one.

Strange thing to treat him like a traitor now if he was a prisoner. I have every intention of doing bad things to the Atroma if I get a chance even if they give me nice things...like protein gel I guess.

[tallasaking]

Ah, but there are prisoners and then there are prisoners. Theon Greyjoy was the former - raised together with the household as another son, trained by all the men of Winterfell. The closest friend of Robb Stark -- someone he trusted enough to leave his youngest brothers with while he went off to make war ... and Theon sold them all out, and killed two innocent boys to make it seem like he had killed Bran and Rickon.

He murdered children? [Nothing else really matters after that does it? Not from her expression at least.] Traitor is too good a word for him then.

[tallasaking]

And then burned the bodies. [She understood so perfectly his disgust and his disdain, just from that. Because she felt it as well.] And you are not incorrect.

I thought he was a harmless loudmouthed fool. I guess not.

He is a loudmouth fool - but watch yourself, He is a dangerous one.
