[There is this thing Cole does.

He visits other ships. Sometimes he put the Pathstone alongside to visit and sometimes he takes a shuttle, but he's constantly wandering all over the fleet, being with people, circulating.

He hasn't done it in a while. He got a nasty fright and went into hiding for a while.

But the creepy psychic being is back! Sticking his large nose into all the business.]

Sometimes, you need to not confront it but tease the edges, fray the knot apart.

Not burst. Sometimes, soft touch. Ease. Fray. Stroke it into submission, prepare them for the hurt, for the untangling.

Yes. Knowing too much makes mortals sad and hollow.

No one is meant to know everything. Not even spirits, I imagine.

No. No one should know everything. Some things think they do.

That seems like a dangerous point of view.

Yes. But everywhere has people who believe that.

Pride demons are born out of wisdom. Knowing a lot, thinking you know better.

And no one really does.

The Chantry says the Maker knows everything. But I don't think the Maker is very nice.

What makes you say that?

Well, the Sisters at the Chantry say that because people killed someone he loved, he turned his back on all of the world and that's why the world is terrible. And that seems cruel to me, to abandon generation after generation of people who need you because you were hurt.

[beardstrokes]

Maybe so. But perhaps he had no one to help him with his hurts.
