It's not an easy past to shake off, I'm afraid. All we can do is keep moving forward despite it.

I know. [he quirks a brief smile] We were already working on doing that.

I'm not - worried about it much. I wasn't there nearly as long as you or Erik. [and he didn't end up somewhere else before that]

Still. I worry about you sometimes, but you seem to have a lot of friends and company.

[ Charles simply avoids interfering since it seems to be going well. It's partly why he hasn't mentioned Winn whatsoever. ]

I'm managing it.

Technically, we all are. The idea is that we don't have to manage it on our own.

Oh, did that part finally get through? [there's no bite in it; if Charles is saying that, then maybe that meant he was finally starting to realize he didn't have to do it on his own and he's glad for that.
