[Welcome back to the Blue Fish! Now that the fleet is on the move again, it's crew of the Blue Fish have plenty of time to interact! The freezers are full of meat (mostly dinosaur), there's a new personnel officer, a popcorn machine in the kitchen and they have several more pets aboard! Their spymaster Leliana has decided to take a long nap, and Beverly....where is Beverly anyway? Huh. And what's this about being bugged? ]

[Allen keeps walking at a quick pace until he reaches the bridge, where he'll take a seat the nearest console. Logging into the system, he starts to examine it very quickly]

...Nothing. No shuttles have been by.

Damn.

[There goes that idea.]

Definitely searching the Iskaukit. It's a long shot at this rate, but it's worth a try. Maybe they transported her there for some reason.

[Really she's just guessing wildly and she knows it. But what else can she do?]

[Allen meanwhile? Isn't about to stop her. In fact-]

I'll go with you. We can search faster, and I can use her tricorder to make sure we don't miss anything.

Ah, good. As long as you know how to work that thing. I can't even begin to guess as to how.

[That tricorder scared her a little, if she's being honest.

Shall we go now? Might as well, put our minds at ease... somewhat.

Yeah, she showed me how a couple times. It's not so bad.

[He prefers using his own senses, but eh, he can definitely see the use for it]

Mm. The sooner we know, the better.

All right then. I'll meet you at the shuttles? I want to grab one or two things first.

[Mainly her sword and shield.]

Alright, I'll meet you there.

[And with a nod, he heads off in another direction to gather his own things.]

[She swings by her room, shoving her sword and sheath in her belt before slinging her shield on her back. Her armor stands in the corner, but she decides against putting it on. Ten to one they won't run into anyone, but given the recent attacks on the Iskaulit, she's not taking any chances.

Her stuff in tow, she heads down to the shuttles and waits for Allen.]

[He comes by not long after. He isn't armed from the look of it (why bother when you got a weapon for an arm?), but he does have Beverly's tricorder with him, as well as Timcanpy riding on his shoulder]

Hey, ready?

[She nods.]

I am. Let's hope we find something. [She gestures to a shuttle, though she looks at Timcanpy.] Why are you bringing your little winged friend?

[He starts heading for the shuttle to board]

Tim's a good tracker. One time he managed to track someone across two continents. I don't know if he'll be able to do the same for Beverly, but it's worth a try.

That's impressive. How does he manage it?

[When they reach the shuttle, she opens it and unloads her sword and shield before climbing in.]

[He climbs in after her, heading for the pilot seat. Timcanpy leaves his shoulder to climb into the top of the chair.]

There's a tracking mechanism within him, it allows him to know which direction someone is and point the way. I don't know how it works exactly though, I inherited him from my Master.

Your Master? [The term makes her frown. She hopes he means like a teacher or is referring to some title, and not what she fears he means. She buckles in and braces herself for the lift-off. It always makes her stomach drop a bit; something about the motion that she can't quite get used to.]

[Luckily for Allen, he can get that tone right away since he gets this question ALL THE TIME. So while he's starting up a ship]

Teacher. Exorcists call the one who trained them Master.

Ah. [OKAY GOOD she worried there for a second.] A useful thing to leave for a student. How long is a would-be Exorcist under the tutelage of a Master?

Ah, I don't really know if there's a set amount of time, it's usually when the Master decides their apprentice is ready for the title of Exorcist.

It took me about four years.

A considerable apprenticeship. Was there a final test or task you had to complete to attain the title?

Well...Traditionally the Master, or the Exorcist General, brings their apprentice to the Black Order headquarters and presents them to the commanders. From there, they are assessed by Helvaska about their value and future. After that, their apprenticeship ends and they begin their duties as an Exorcist.

[And then shortly following, with bitter rage]

But my Master didn't want to go back to headquarters! He hated headquarters! So instead one day he told me to go to Headquarters myself and knocked me out with a hammer so he could escape before I could make him go!

And my Master didn't even tell me the secret location of the Headquarters, so I ended up traveling three bloody months across two continents until I found the place! And then once I got there, I almost got disemboweled because the supervisor had forgotten to read the letter that said I was coming!

Your master sounds like a piece of work. [That's putting it very mildly.] I hope you repaid him in kind for the hammer to your head. [Which speaking of: HOW DOES ONE SURVIVE A HAMMER TO THE FACE?]

[And yeah he was about to go on about how YES, HIS MASTER IS A PIECE OF WORK HE'S THE WORST- but then Riona said that last part and suddenly he looks very...uncomfortable. There's a pause and he clears his throat.]

Actually, um well, about...a year after I became an Exorcist? He was at Headquarters to speak with me and um...

Well, someone...broke into his room and attacked him. And no one's seen him since but from the looks of the scene, well...someone...did hit him in the head with something.

[He shakes his head and offers a sympathetic smile]

It's fine, really. You had no way of knowing about it.
