ᴏᴏ2 : ᴠɪᴅᴇᴏ/ᴛᴇxᴛ
Who: Tony Stark
privatizes and you!
Broadcast: Fleetwide.
Action: S.S. Pathstone.
When: Now!
[ tony is currently on board the pathstone, if you want to bother him in person. sitting in his captain's chair and fiddling with something in his hands, as he usually is. he's been working on a large variety of projects lately, including (but not limited to): a hovering wheelchair, reversal of brain control, and trying to reinvigorate his arc reactor that the emotional tree of life had given him for holding hands.
god, he misses home.
but as his current projects are 1) a work in progress, 2) practically non-exsitent, and 3) almost there (in that respective order), tony requires the help of the population. especially since he doesn't have the engineering augment and the pathstone lacks an engineer. figures, right? god.
anyway -- ]
Soooo...
[ he pauses ]
-- I'm just going to cut to the chase and say that I need stuff, and you all might have that stuff. You should give it to me so I can make even better stuff. It's going to be for the good of the general population, I promise. [ no, really ] And -- who do I have to kill to get an engineer on board? Because this would all be a hell of a lot easier if I had what Atroma considered an engineer on board.
[ is tony stark still salty over the fact that he is not, apparently, considered an engineer by the standards of the atroma? you bet your ass he is. ]
The list is gonna be sent out in a text -- if you want to part with any of it or trade for stuff, let me know. I'm Tony Stark. Captain of the Pathstone. Don't ask me why I am, or how I got there. The question is getting old. Thanks.
[ and the video feed cuts, only for a text to be sent out: ]
[ NEEDED.TXT]
- soldering iron
- spark plugs
- electrical tape
- copper wiring
- steel (approx. 4.5 kgs, can be scrap metal)
- batteries (any size, lithium ion)
[ and, once that is sent out, an additional encrypted feed pops up: ]
[encrypted to: the pathstone + the avengers]
[ tony holds up one of the bugging devices between his fingers, lips pursed into a frown ]
Captain speaking. Or... whatever -- found this in the communications station, and no, I didn't ask permission before I yanked it out because I don't have to.
[ somewhat blithely ]
I haven't taken it apart yet, but if you find any more of them on board, hand them over and I'll see what I can do. No one weird has been on or off the ship that I know of, and I checked the logs. Anybody else have any solid ideas about where it came from, because I'm betting the answer begins with 'A' and ends with 'troma', and that's probably not good.
[ pause ]
Oh, and my superhero friends can see this, so if you're going to spill any deep dark secrets to me, in the pretense of honesty, I guess I should probably let you know that Captain America will know about it.
[ another pause ]
So. Anybody? Bueller?

[Oh gosh, it's the pink pony again.]
I'm an engineer, I've got some tape and metal you can use, and you can borrow my soldering iron if you want!

Pathstone video
The beings who are controlling our ships managed to put another something in our ship. How shocking. I mean, I am appalled by the very idea that the people who have kidnapped us and are keeping us prisoner on a television show have such little regard for our privacy.
Pathstone video
[ you want to sass TONY WILL MEET UR SASS ]
But I forgot what ship I was on for a second, so my apologies, definitely Atroma. Carry on, sir. Go back to your nap.

Lithium ion? What do you intend to create with that?
video;
[ which is really all there is to it ]
Lithium ion batteries are pretty common where I come from, but who knows what sort of technology people have stashed away up here. Taking them apart and putting them back together and extracting what I need out of them would be easy in a decent lab -- I'm really just experimenting with what I've got. Or might have.

But he's on board now! He has a small entourage of fluff slugs living on his hat, peeking over the brim.

What's a battery?

[ automatically, without missing a beat, though tony tips back in his chair to turn and get a better view of cole ]
Dismantling the ship for parts is generally ill-advised, and I want to experiment a little bit.

[ JEEZ ]
If it were up to me, I'd have my full lab which makes the invention of the lightbub look like a chimpanzee figuring out how to use a stick to eat ants, but I don't. So starting small and taking apart the wheel to build the Ferrari is my best option until Atroma decides to give me something more than a broken piece of tech.

What are you up to?
private video.
{ aka he's trying to keep himself busy so he doesn't do stupid shit LOOK HE LEARNS ]
I said I'd try to help Captain Brainwash Victim. And work on some repulsor lifts. And I want a functional robotic assistant that isn't a complete waste of my time. I also want to create self-destructing hard drives.
[ pause ]
The hugging tree gave me my old arc reactor that I had removed. It's not working right now, but if I can get it to function, it's a limitless power source that I can use to begin rebuilding my suit. Or something close to it, if Atroma lets me have the right metals and lab equipment.

Are you making a drone? because how would you program its operation system?
ok my guesses come down to
- drone?
- ATOM suit?
do you know the atom?
[ bc he's getting ray plamer vibes here ]
text »
[ which is... technically true, with JARVIS and FRIDAY ]
- Kinda right.
- What's an ATOM suit?
I'm creating equipment for repairs and making a robot. And taking apart several robots. Do you have a robot you want to donate to the cause? I'll give it a good burial.

Apparently people don't hoard steel. Weirdos.
What do you want for it?

I'm trying to re-purpose parts from the shuttle systems in order to bypass the ship's proper communications array. Sad to say, it's not working.
[ comms might be her skill set, but the rest ain't. ]

Sounds like you need a me.
[ A PROJECT though tony is facing similar difficulties with his own ship. not having the engineering augment is a true hazard in this freaking fleet. ]

[ he's only being slightly facetious. just a little. now he has to make sure he keeps it together. darn. ]
Any idea what it does?

[ that much is said easily enough, ignoring the point about cap ]
Sends out signals -- probably a wiretap, or a bug, or something like that. I haven't taken it apart yet, but I ripped it out of the system, so it's not connected to our communications station anymore. No idea if it's still transmitting, though. I'll find out once I dismantle it.
