[Kitty was not expecting a surprise birthday party because while it is the date of her birth, her last birthday was about seven months ago because abductions that can happen from any time make things weird. And then there's also the part where Winn got attacked by Sascha and she and Winn had their first significant fight and things have been on the rough side. Of course, with people like Winn and Pinkie Pie in her life she really should have known better.

So, here we are on The Tourist with dancing in the cargo hold. Winn's phone is playing mustic amplified by Cisco's speakers. There are snacks, beverages, and cake in the kitchen. With Pinkie Pie helping out and some of the stores of food they built up from the time on the hand holding planet you can expect better-than-spacefood quality. And if you need more privacy, Winn opened his room up, but he did include a sign that says no making out complete with a disappointed frowny face, so you would never! Probably.

Enjoy the party! Kitty is turning 20 years and 7 months today? Yeah, there may be another birthday party for her coming up. She's probably doomed to have two per year. Of course you have to get gifts for both!]

[Well that is good, because Tyrion is here and Tyrion has presents. Yes, presents plural. Don't be surprised, Kitty, you are one of his favorite people after all.

He'll just wait over here for when you're done with dancing, though.]

[She smiles to her partner when the music stops and turns to find a Tyrion watching from the wings. She smiles fondly.] I guess they were inviting just anyone to this thing.

I know ... it's like they don't know how to keep the riffraff out. Especially those bringing dangerous gifts.

[Tyrion tutted softly.] It's a real shame, that.

Dangerous? Will it explode when I open it? Or them. Why is there a them? Is it someone else's birthday too?

Yes, one of them is, in fact, a bomb. I brought you a bomb on your birthday because not only am I riffraff, I am an insane killer. [Is Tyrion's dry response.]

And you know very well why there are two presents. Shush you.

You and your logic where it's just supposed to make sense when people do nice things for me. What am I going to do with you. [She holds her hands out for at least one present.] Thank you.

[He gave her a crooked smile, and then took the largest one off the pile.]

You are most welcome ... after you open the gifts and give me the dirty eye for spoiling you.

So bossy. [She smiles fondly at him. The dirty eye will have to come later.]

[She takes the gift and unwraps it to find... I have no idea, but I bet the next tag will know!]

Of course. One does not become the advisor to a queen without having an authorative tone.

[Is Tyrion's straight-faced answer. One corner of his mouth lifts as she starts to open it, then the other as she will now pull out a deep blue cloak, done in the fabrics of the last planet they visited.]

That cost me a few pretty acorns -- but I thought you should have something that reminded you of that place. In ... a good way.

Oh, Tyrion, it's beautiful. Thank you. [It's not really something she'd pick up for herself, but it's her color and she can't really claim it's too old fashioned when half her team wears...wore...capes. They don't work well for her powers, but she does like the drama of them even when she doesn't choose it for herself.] And not much you can do with those acorns now. [She used up most of hers on food supplies but what few she had left she handed out to children before they left.]

Well, I had thought a dress ... but considering what Winn believes is happening, I am glad I was slightly more appropriate.

Which reminds me, one of those gifts is jewelry -- should I take it back?

No. No, Tyrion, nothing's happening. You don't have to worry about that. [She might have to worry about it some, but she doesn't want him to. She doesn't want one of her closest friends pulling away out of concern for misplaced jealousy.]

...If you are certain, Kitty. [He is going to be a little wary, however, even as he hands over the smaller package.] That I had made, after our talk. I thought you might like a reminder of our friendship, in the days to come.

Don't fret so much. The world's hard enough, right?

[A hand made piece of jewelry that symbolizes their friendship? Okay, yeah, that could make Winn feel extra threatened, but she's sticking to her guns as she takes the box, curious about what it will be as she opens it.]

[Is Tyrion's tart answer, before he looked on, his mis-matched eyes catching on some light. Inside is a simple braided chain of colorful string, and on it a glass blow charm of something that looked rather like a tart.

Which, of course, it was.]

Is that...? [She laughs as she turns it over in her hands.] You made this? The cord or the whole thing? Are you a glass blower, sir?

The cord, yes. That I had enough skill for. The charm you can thank our friends back on the hand-holding planet, as Pinkie calls it. I have many skills ... glass blowing is not one of them. [He smirks faintly.] No matter what you might think of the hot air that comes out of my mouth.

Oh, so many thoughts, but none I'm at liberty to share. Now that third present... Gimme! [Smiling.]

[He chortled softly, before he handed over the last package, the one that was somewhere in the middle. When she opened it, she would find a fine blade, with a native metal handle.] I know you have your claw -- but with everything that has been going on ... well. You never can be too careful.

And you were worried about jewelry and outerwear? Weapons are the real intimate gifts. [She smiles but there is something a little further away in her eyes for the moment as she looks at the blade and thinks about his reasoning for getting it. But she isn't going to focus on that now. She repackages it safely and then adjusts herself to better hug Tyrion.] Thank you for everything. [Not just the three gifts or even coming. Just being him. Being a friend.]

I do not know what I was thinking ... giving you something that could cut someone in half. [He looks at her, before he quirks a little sad smile, before he went to hugged her tightly.] You are welcome, my friend.

Well, it is full penetration after all. [Should she be making jokes like that while hugging him? Meh, if not with him then who?] Thanks. [The friend part is the best gift anyway. And she'll hug a little longer.] Dance with me?

As if I would give you anything less? [Seriously Kitty, you should know better. Especially with the gleam in Tyrion's eyes.] You are welcome. [He takes her hands, and nods.] I would be honored.

[She straightens back up, more or less. She takes his hand.] You remember how? [Like the time they danced together with him dancing on air because of her powers.]

As if I could ever forget. [He weaved his fingers through hers, smiling up at her.] Let me know when you are ready.
