[ Obi-Wan tends to drag his heels when it comes to being on the Huntress. Most of the original crew, save for Mikleo and Sorey, have gone and while he'd never fully admit it, the losses have been felt. Still, he is a consummate professional and makes sure everything in the cockpit is secure and working well. Obi-Wan may not enjoy piloting, but he continues to put in effort in his efficiency.

So he spends a lot of time in the cockpit of the Huntress. On occasion, when it is very quiet, he'll take out his guitar and strum a few tunes, humming quietly as he does. Otherwise Obi-Wan wanders around the ship, making sure everything is in working order. It's a habit he's picked up since things on the Huntress seem to be constantly breaking. ]

[ abruptly sliding into the cockpit and shutting the door ]

Please don't tell my family I am in here.

[ Because after living essentially alone for the last several thousand years, suddenly having a brother, two cousins and a grandfather who are all fretting over him is somewhat... terrifying ]

[beardstrokes]

[ He blinks, not expecting company. ]

They are rather . . . clingy.

[bythewaves]

I love them, and I missed them all, but... it is... a little... overwhelming, yes.

[ A pause as he considers the way Obi-Wan said that ]

You have met some of them, I deem.

[beardstrokes]

[ Faintly wry. ]

I met your grandfather. I think he's taken a shine to me. I can't say I've ever been treated that way before.

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor winces slightly ]

Ah... yes. My apologies. Grandfather is... well. He means well. But as the High King, he is not used to being refused. In. well. Anything. Also, he is old enough that essentially everyone else he sees as children.

[beardstrokes]

[ Obi-Wan briefly thinks of Yoda, who often was like that, albeit a stricter version. Respect was hard-fought when it came to the Grand Master of the Jedi, but not impossible. And Obi-Wan knew he always had his.

Dooku, though . . . ]

I suppose he can't be blamed for that.

I can try and convince him to leave you alone, if you wish?

[beardstrokes]

[ He shakes his head. ]

He's hardly being a nuisance. Besides, it would be rude of me to ask him to behave in a manner contrary to his self.

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor smiles at him, apologetic and grateful ]

Thank you for understanding. Grandfather always wanted a large family - but if he becomes too overbearing, let me know. He ... is more worried about me, I think.

[beardstrokes]

Surely he . . . has one?

[ It sounded large to him. ]

For elves, yes - but he would not refuse a larger one!

[beardstrokes]

I've never understood the urge to accumulate more.

[ It's like Qui-Gon and his love for pathetic life forms. ]

[ Maglor's smile is wry ]

Some people just enjoy the company, I suppose. I have always been a little more solitary, myself. Too many folk are... overwhelming, for me.

[beardstrokes]

Even your family?

[ Obi-Wan isn't sure how that works. The Jedi are always spread out. He's lucky if he sees some of them in a year. ]

[bythewaves]

Sometimes. [ He agrees wryly ]

I love them very dearly, and without them the Song of the world is emptier and without joy. But ... six brothers, and innumerable cousins, and all of us with strong personalities! I was used to the noise and bustle, but often needed an escape. Fortunately, they loved me well, and understood my moods, also.

[beardstrokes]

Then I'm sure they will again. They're probably just excited to see you again.

[bythewaves]

I hope so! Although grandfather may take a while.....

[beardstrokes]

A while is, thankfully, not forever.

[bythewaves]

Fortunately! But it might take a while longer than I can take.

I hope you do not mind, but I may hide here from time to time.

[ He hesitates and nods. ]

It's fine. I'm the only pilot anyway.

I can find another spot, if I trouble you.

Are there meant to be two pilots?

There were two others when I first came here.

[ He lapses into silence after that ]

They were your friends?

We weren't close by any means.

[ He shakes his head. ] This ship has changed a lot since I first came here.
