First Report
Who: Bridge Carson and whoever!
Broadcast: Yes
Action: Bloodsport
When: Yesterday/today/tomorrowish
Video
[The face on the communicator is of a young man dressed in a strange uniform with blue accents. The camera isn’t facing down or upside-down or anything, so it’s almost like he might know what he’s doing.
Bridge waves at the camera with a smile.]
Hello! My name is Bridge Carson, cadet of S.P.D. Earth and first I was on this big ship that was really kind’ve small because there wasn’t much to the part I was in, but it was also kind’ve big again because it was mostly empty. But now I’m on one of the smaller ships, the Bloodsport which...now that I think about it, that’s not a very good name for a ship; who wants to be on a ship called ‘Bloodsport?’ Sounds...well...bloody.
[Huh. Oh well]
Anyway, just wanted to say hi and meet some of you since it seems like we’re gonna have some time to get to know each other. Although, I get the feeling I might have missed a step or...three.
[Based on the movement of the camera, those watching might notice that Bridge has walked part way back the way he came as though he might be able to pick up those missed steps. He shakes his head as he dismisses the idea and another one occurs to him.]
Oh, and if anyone else is from S.P.D. just raise your hand. Well, with the video on.
Action
For anyone on the Bloodsport, they can find their new engineer just about anywhere on the ship as he explores every nook and cranny, even the ones he probably has no business poking into. However, he spends a lot of time of his first couple days, predictably, in the engine room..
Anyone who stumbles into the engine room, however, might want to watch their step as the floor is littered with metal and wires and debris. Bridge himself is half under a consol. Don’t worry, he has everything under control.

[That question earns some confusion. Maybe S.P.D. didn't span the whole universe just yet, but most people had at least heard of it. Although, not being anywhere close enough to home for that name to be familiar at least solved the question as to why his star-navigation training hadn't helped him out while he stared out the windows for hours.]
Space Patrol Delta. It's a peacekeeping force run by this super strict bird, but Commander Birdie's okay, once you get past his prickly outside. Or...his feathery outside, I guess.
I think they're feathers...
Oh, but we fight people who want to hurt or take over planets or break the Common Laws set up across the universe. Often times with big robots.
[Don't think he's joking, he says every single word with a straight face.]
Re: [ video ]
What does this peacekeeping force do?
no subject
We being the Power Rangers, the highest level of cadet in S.P.D. Usually there's an A and B squad who can split up and handle everything, but then A squad got captured and turned bad so we had to arrest them, so it's just B squad now. Maybe they'll make C squad rangers now too.
no subject
Well. You should congratulation whoever came up with those names. They are certainly ingenious.

They're bland, but I don't think Commander Cruegar would trust us to make up our own. I...don't even think we'd be able to agree on one, to be honest.

[That would make sense, things were named fairly literally in Newtech City, after all.]

[ He smiles. ] We're called X-Men after the X-gene.
no subject
[But now he's extra interested and it's there in his voice.]
What's the X-gene?

Wait...are you saying that's like a normal thing where you're from? People having powers?
Like...lots of people have powers?
[More than six, at least.]
no subject
A whole new species. With a host of new abilities.
no subject
Back home, my friends and I were born with powers like that, but we were the only ones. We all grew up alone with them until we found each other. Some of us had it easier than others, but it all would have been easier if we hadn't been seen as weird for it.
It must be nice to know there's other people like you around.

I can assure, mutants feel no less strange in their own skin. But yes, it does help to know you're not alone.
no subject
Huh...we have powers cause our parents did some work with S.P.D. that altered their DNA, which then went into us and altered our DNA, so we got abilities. Does that make us mutants? I mean, it didn't really happen naturally. If they'd done some other work, we probably would have been normal, so it's less mutated and more...affected.
[If he's aware that he's rambling, he certainly doesn't show it.]
no subject
That would be considered a form of mutation. It's not a common term, though. They mostly use it on my world and a few others.
