[The face on the communicator is of a young man dressed in a strange uniform with blue accents. The camera isn’t facing down or upside-down or anything, so it’s almost like he might know what he’s doing.

Bridge waves at the camera with a smile.]

Hello! My name is Bridge Carson, cadet of S.P.D. Earth and first I was on this big ship that was really kind’ve small because there wasn’t much to the part I was in, but it was also kind’ve big again because it was mostly empty. But now I’m on one of the smaller ships, the Bloodsport which...now that I think about it, that’s not a very good name for a ship; who wants to be on a ship called ‘Bloodsport?’ Sounds...well...bloody.

[Huh. Oh well]

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and meet some of you since it seems like we’re gonna have some time to get to know each other. Although, I get the feeling I might have missed a step or...three.

[Based on the movement of the camera, those watching might notice that Bridge has walked part way back the way he came as though he might be able to pick up those missed steps. He shakes his head as he dismisses the idea and another one occurs to him.]

Oh, and if anyone else is from S.P.D. just raise your hand. Well, with the video on.

Action
For anyone on the Bloodsport, they can find their new engineer just about anywhere on the ship as he explores every nook and cranny, even the ones he probably has no business poking into. However, he spends a lot of time of his first couple days, predictably, in the engine room..

Anyone who stumbles into the engine room, however, might want to watch their step as the floor is littered with metal and wires and debris. Bridge himself is half under a consol. Don’t worry, he has everything under control.

Huh, Bloodsport don't sound like a very nice ship name. I'm on the Golden, it's shiny!

The bigger one is called the Marsiva. Everyone arrives on it at first, it's weird.

Hi there, Bridge Carson, I'm Pinkie Pie! Yeah, the Bloodsport's name is kinda gross, but I know Captain Nami, she's really nice, AND my friends Finn and Poe's best friend Rey is over there, and she's really REALLY nice!a

You doing okay? It's a lot to take in all at once, I know. Do you need anything?

[Nami does find him in the engine room, comm in hand. She saw the post, but coming to see him in person is a lot more polite, isn't it?

...oh lord this place is a mess. Huh. Hmm.]

It's a terrible name for a ship, but we don't get to change it. But I can at least tell you we're not all bloodthirsty criminals. Not at the same time, anyway.

[She says that so cheerfully.]

Hey. I'm Nami. Please tell me you're an engineer.

I'm not sure they're all that great at naming the ships, really. I was originally on the Three Twins, which... wouldn't that be sextuplets? Unless they're not related I guess.

[He knows he should probably throw the kid a bone and try to explain some things about the fleet or whatever, but he's having a bit of trouble sleeping with Anders' boney butt digging into his side and nowhere else to actually go but off the tiny bed to avoid it so he'd rather just have inane conversation while he sits here on the floor outside their newly shared quarters wishing for more space.]

[ He totally has everything under control, definitely. And it's not at all in any way totally fascinating to certain members already on the shop that there's a new person-smell going around and clearly this means it should be investigated. Right? Right.

So don't ind that despite whatever work Bridge is up to, eventually there's just going to be Sascha, staring and watching. ]

--Hi! [ And talking unannounced. ]

[Apollo's not too new anyone, but he's not exactly the most social. Does he even know all his crewmates yet?? It's a mystery. He's trying to explore the ship more and just happens into the engine area--and nearly jumps seeing someone half under a console.]
