[After several days of traveling, the passengers are able to reach the ruins of the ship. Explore the ruins, try to find a distress single scavenge, play your hand at Harvest moon and grab some pumpkins- come on in, it's a mingle!

[It's definitely not lost on Sorey, but he's not going to say anything about it. Lailah, Mikleo and Dezel have all been more or less in and out the whole time they've been here, but Zaveid has alternated between occasionally poking his nose and flitting off to wherever it is he's been hiding. Probably the very top of the wreckage, if Sorey had to hazard a guess.

Zaveid catches him while he's trying to sketch out a rough map of the ship's layout by memory, and he glances up just for a second before returning to his work.] Well, there's no telling how long we'll be here, right? Plus, there's that, erm, thing. That's watching. Better to get this done sooner rather than later, in case it decides it doesn't want us here anymore.

[ It's going to take time for Zaveid to feel as though he can slip back into the 'norm', but he thinks that's probably okay. They've got time enough to do it here, and if they all end up back home then there'll be some time there... Maybe. A part of him is concerned that they'll be sent back with these memories hanging over their heads and they'll struggle when it comes to fighting the Big Bad Cat, but... He can worry about that later.

Right now, he's trying his best to be as natural and normal with Sorey as he can manage. He thinks it's working.

Flopping down, he crosses his legs and leans forward like a curious child. ]

You think you're gonna need that map if we end up on some distant planet thousands of miles away?

[monolike]

Maybe not. But- get this. [Sorey flops down his notebook and turns it around for Zaveid to see.] You see that big room there, and the two connecting hallways? When I walked in it looked a lot like the room we first woke up in, back on the Marvisa. I even saw these twitsy thin metal things that could be bed frames.

[airily]

Uh huh. [ He leans down to look, tapping the page with an idle finger. ] So you think this is gonna be like... Some kind of ship like the Marvisa?

[monolike]

One room is probably not enough to determine, but nobody ever regrets having a map! Rose is always very adamant about that. [That and he kind of likes cartography. It's cathartic.

Sorey glances up to give Zaveid a closer look.] Hey, have you been feeling anything weird?

[airily]

I suppose it's not gonna hurt. She might wanna see it if she ever turns up. [ Zaveid hasn't decided if he wants that or not. He misses her, of course, but... She doesn't need to come and suffer the awkwardness that would arise, the unspoken knowledge of what they had been through.

Frowning at the scrutiny, he shifts back a little. ] Uh, sure. A little like there's somethin' bright inside me, like that?

[monolike]

Ohh, I feel that too. But more like... [Gestures helplessly, what are those hands doing] Lailah can describe it better than me. It's like...beckoning?

[airily]

Huh. [ He tilts his head, considering, for a moment. ] ... Yeah, that makes sense. Like something calling for me, or filling me up.

[monolike]

Yeah, [points] exactly like that. It's like something wants us to-

[Sorey stops short. The parallels suddenly hit him and now, he's not sure he's made a good decision, starting a discussion about some unknown entity grasping for people to stay with Zaveid.]

A...anyway. I just thought it was weird. [Clears his throat and turns a page to start a new section of the map.] And if Lailah thought we were in any danger she'd tell us, right?

[ His gaze flicks over to Sorey, but he doesn't say anything - not just yet, at least. His lips twitch a little, a wry smile, but he lets it go.

No need to make anything awkward when Sorey is doing his best to avoid it, and all Zaveid does is flop back, huffing out a little noise. ]

Lailah's got a good head on her shoulders. If there was somethin' seriously wrong she'd be screaming at us all right now, like a proper mom.

[monolike]

A proper big sister, according to her. [Nah he agrees. Lailah is more mom than sister, even when she goes on her weird pun tangents. She's the mom friend.] Though if she's the mom, wouldn't that make you the dad by default?

[airily]

[ Zaveid just gives Sorey a sharp look. ]

Don't let Lailah hear you talking like that!

[ Even if there is a sparkle in his eye because, hell, he totally digs it. ]

[monolike]

I don't think she'd have too much of a problem with it. [That's just intuition, though. For all her complaining, Lailah seems to regard Zaveid a lot more warmly now than she did when he'd first joined up. Maybe she likes not being the oldest in their group.

... actually,] Hey Zaveid, are you older than Lailah?

[airily]

You sure about that? I'm not gonna be the one bringing it up to her. [ Even if the idea of being 'mom' and 'dad'... Well, he's not going to dwell on that too much. Messy, complicated feelings ahead, he thinks.

Looking over, he smirks. ] What do you think?

[monolike]

Well... [Makes a change to his map] You're definitely not as mature. [come on and SLAM]

[airily]

Ouch! [ That makes him flop back, hand on his chest as if he's wounded. ] Right in the heart there, Sorey!

[monolike]

Oh come on, you can't even get close to arguing that! [u can't] For actual age, hm...I'm not sure. Lailah's so quiet about that sort of thing.

I'm guessing you're both older than Edna, though. Although Edna's pretty- [REACTIVE FLINCH, oh that's right. She's. Not here. Sorey half-expected her to come flying out of him to smack him with her umbrella.] Er, she's...y'know, she's worldly. [old]

[airily]

That's 'cause she's a lady. They don't like talking about those kinda things!

[ He, too, looks around in case he sees Edna magically turning up before he huffs a laugh. ]

Not as worldly as some of us. Eizen was way older than her, and I knew him.

[monolike]

Yeah, but it seems like almost everybody knows everybody when it comes to you guys. [yeah when you live hundreds of years it's easy to make time to meet new people]

[airily]

I guess that's what happens when you live long enough. It's not like there are a hell of a lot of us running around.

[monolike]

Well...then I'm going to guess that you're older, in years. But I'm going to guess she's just as worldly! And I'm going to guess that neither of you remember how old you are anyway so it's a moot point. That's my official conclusion.

[airily]

[ That makes him laugh, and Zaveid leans back, almost flopping a little. ]

I might remember. I might just not wanna tell you.

[monolike]

Oh c'mon. Do you even know how much me and Mikleo have had to hold ourselves back with you? Lailah can't talk about the past much, but you're like, a wealth of archaeological knowledge! We could probably deny and confirm entire theoretical eras with what you remember!

[airily]

You really wanna know how old I am?

[monolike]

[Blinks and sits up straight. Okay so he hadn't expected Zaveid to be so straight about it, but-] Y-yeah. Yeah! Definitely!
